>Diomedia finds a way
>Mine is a vegetable
Give me more. Depress my life further, /a/
yes, a few select will take 4chan as a whole. You definitively how that will turn out. The only thing I'm worried about is it's going to be trouble some to get my updates on new seasons or chapters of certain manga I'm reading.
>Mine is a vegetable
That's not bad though.
In all honesty, though I hate moot, I'm really worried. He did some stupid shit over the years, but some of the mods are even worse than he is. I don't want someone like RapeApe getting even more responsibility over the site.
I'm sure it won't be too bad with Redwood running the show.
OK READ THIS:
Idon't care about the next Admin an all that shit the only question I have is, It's moot going to add some sad music like he always do when something happens?
here's my recommendation, moot.
[YouTube] Zankyou no Terror OST - "Von" (with Icelandic and English lyrics) (embed)
I know shit anime, but the OST is amazing
Post you're recommendations for moot, anons.
I didn't know the show was like that.
I don't either. I'm fucked if this goes under. I really hope /a/ can stick around and not change. What I'm even more worried about is that a bunch of /a/nons are going to leave the site to some other shitty chan without me knowing.
Being an image board is not the same as being /a/, moron.
>Grandmother died on the same day that moot retired
I have never had a day this awful.
Please don't go Moot. This site is all I fucking have. Please don't kill 4chan this way.
>gawker takes over
>no more lolis
>ads up the ass
>more faggotry than reddit and facebook
>Every year during Asuka's birthday I'd dump this doujin
>Moot showed up two years ago and confirmed fapped to it
>I did it this year for Asuka's birthday and he didn't respond, but as it happened every year, mods would let me post the whole thing before deleting it all
>I made the administrator of 4chan masturbate
>I will never make him masturbate again
It is a strange feel. I feel like we were friends. I will miss you, Christopher Poole, not as an admin, but as my friend.
Anyone else think nothing is really going to change all that much?
It sucks that he's gone and we're about to get his shitty replacements, but still.
Gotta mentally prepare for the worst things that can happen. Did you guys prepare a backup plan?
I'm seriously scared guys. I don't want to leave 4chan.
Day 0: Moot announces retirement
First month: Transition appears seamless. Threads you were following sometimes disappear strangely, but life goes on.
Second month: Boards are moving slower. Threads disappearing with more regularity, users are starting to notice.
Third month: Cross-board global identifier tags are added on a "trial basis" due to user complaints
Fourth month: Moderators are brazenly in the open shaping board culture to suit the agenda of the New Administration
Fifth month: in the normalfag meat world, a World War has erupted after months of tension. The world war is short, nukes fly across the sky, and entire nations disappear overnight.
Sixth month: Without food or internet, Anonyneet slowly begin emerging from their lead paint lined basements--the only places which were safe when the bombs dropped. The world is...different. Mutated normies roam the earth as either terrifying man-eating abominations or cute monstergirls.
Seventh month: You, a NEET survivor, come across a small pocket of Old World civilization. It is populated entirely by otaku like yourself. The Mayor of the town is Christopher Poole.
Isn't it a game?
Why would they kill some character? I thought it was going to be a comfy series ;_;
>IDs are implemented on all boards
The first step for exterminating anonymity.
>4chan is bought
It will probably change a lot of things, but slowly so no one is going to be able to tell the difference until its too late. my guess is that its better to dust that old list of satellite chans and search for an alternate place to hang around
And here we are, on the cusp of change
Standing at the foot of an era that rejects us
This, I've been here since 03. I spent my first Christmas here thanks to a friend of moots introducing it to me. I can't leave, I made so many memories here. You are all literally my family and friends who I can talk to without feeling empty
I hope the new authority keeps us gold as usual. I can't bare to see this board vanish
Windows 7-8.1 get free upgrade to Windows 10
Couldn't this potentially be a good thing? moot has been slacking these past couple of years, maybe the mods will do a better job or appoint a new admin. I mean moot was the one behind thread archival, removing email, the janitor system.
Maybe this is like a wildfire.
Maybe it getting burnt up will allow for greener grass to grow i.e. board quality.
Maybe things will slow down, but maybe that's a good thing. Think about it, all the underbrush (i.e shitposters and retards from places like MAL and Reddit) has to get cleared somehow.
4chan has always been dying.
moot leaving won't kill it, but it's the final nail in the coffin so that the remainder can be driven into the ground.
>Anyone else think nothing is really going to change all that much?
>It sucks that he's gone and we're about to get his shitty replacements, but still.
People on /v/ and other shitty boards like panicking and drama. We here don't have the time or irrationality of that shit
We will be ok
Don't be hastey. /a/ might not be dying just yet. Let's stick around until we know it's dead, otherwise you'll kill the board by making people leave when /a/ could be just fine.
Moot slowly turned into a SJW, so it's better for him to leave 4chan. On the other hand, we can get an even worse administrator, at least moot let it run wild during these 11 years.
Same here. 7 years in this shithole named /a/ and I can't let it go.
You can't replace /a/ whatever you do without there being certain restrictions.
>/a/ shuts down.
>start to watch less and less anime because no /a/.
>new admin ends up being less of a normalfag than moot and is active
Moot was the cancer killing 4chan.
I know I'm just saying, in case things do turn south. We'll need a consensus on where to go. But I think things should be fine, for a time. moot still cares about us and I like to think he won't let us get fucked without a fight.
according to some faggots Windows skipped Win9 because of shortsighted software programming.
Win9 would confuse shit and make them think it's Win98 or something like that. Remember Y2K, when computers were supposed to all glitch out and roll back to 1900 because they weren't the year 2K compliant?
STAY WITH ME NOW
WHAT IF MOOT'S LEAVING SCARES OFF ALL OF THE NORMALFAGS AND PEOPLE WHO GOT HERE FROM LEDDIT, GAIA, FACEBOOK, et cetera?
I'm just trying to be optimistic here.
If anything, I have been avoiding the threads lately, since the whole "hurr durr, your taste is shit" is in every fucking thing. There is reddit or MAL for that.
God bless moot if this kills 4chan. I'm sure I'd be happier.
>implying that would stop them
The best thing the new team could possibly do is not change how moderation works or board rules, and just try to improve the posting experience by adding new features or whatever.
i don't really think anything will change.
but there is always that thought in the back of my mind
>what if the new Admin don't like anime?
>what if m00t really was the only thing between 4cahn and facebook integration?
>or the worst thing of all
what if hes is form /v/?
i don't want things to change or leave 4chan.
>moot's drunkenness will no longer fuck up the board for days at a time
we can talk shit about planetes now
Sure you can marathon a lot, but it won't be the same.
MM did it because he had vippers with him.
When the first day of reconciliation arrives the normies will be the first to go
I'm honestly, absolutely shocked.
Say the shit you want about moot but he WAS 4chan.
Now, when 4chan dies there really won't be any place to go. Hell, I don't think the site is going to be the same now that I know that moot isn't just lurking, waiting for the right time to shitpost.
