Yes, is fantasy and all, but it has his own logic and sense within the fictitious universe it is presented.
Also, like the other anon said, it's a remake of a 40 year old classic and very heart warming series for the Japanese.

It wasn't that bad. If you want poorly handled look at the original season. She "died" and came back to life with literally no explanation. At least this one had some silly magic explanation to it.

Fair enough. Then I watched this show expecting the wrong things apparently. Still, I couldn't help but notice how the show went the route of Battlestar Galactica, suspenseful first half and a more fantasy and spread-out second half. I still liked the show but I can't help but be dissapointed that it didn't retain the style of the first half.
