>this is 430GB
get a external hard drive for anime/movies. it's worth it and not expensive.
The max number of drives has been reached, I would need to buy some stuff to accommodate more drives (not expensive) and a whole lot of drives at once to set up a RAID (expensive)

No, upscale it to monitor resolution as needed.
Filesize is smaller.
There's 0 reason to download bloat when your PC can scale the video realtime just as well as CR shitty algorithms do for their 1080p encodes.
I just delete things after I watch them.
Is that frowned upon? Am I going to get Greentexted at?
I only have a few 100 gigabytes myself, recently even deleted some shows I didn't like a whole lot.
I'm keeping it in case the internet dies.
>not entering your anime and watching it live within the world
I want to seed but recently I've only been downloading old shows that no one else is downloading so I keep seeding but there is no one to seed for.
It's makes me feel a bit upset but it can't be helped.
There's no excuse for having less than 2TB of harddrive space in the year 2015.
no, you're right, it does have it, disregard my retardation
> Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (EP. 1- 10) [720p][ScavvyKiD] [AnimeRG]
1GB for 10 episodes in 720p, dual audio
> [Coalgirls] _Fullmetal _Alchemist _Brotherhood _(1280x720 _Blu-ray _FLAC)
47GB for 64 episodes in 720p, dual audio
I prefer a middle way
I'm running off this set up since christmas and it's been fucking great.
>tfw laptop boots up instantly since I got my SSD
>tfw I'm not constantly thrashing my HDD since I have a bunch of editing programs open at once
It feels great to have 3 HDD bays and 2 msata ports on a laptop.
There's usually a tripfriend who makes the icons right before the season starts and posts them on /a/.
Speaking of which has anyone gotten the latest pack?
Overkill is best.
Though I certainly agree that for a normal release 720p is what you would want.
Aside perhaps for the OP/ED.
You could scan it at 4k and it wouldn't be an upscale.
Would be dumb though.
>there are people who felt this was too big
Worth every bit.
I know, I was just being a smartass.
Really though I'm downloading these because I can't be bothered waiting for Bunnyhat to do the second half of the series and would rather just slap subs on raws myself.
I have 2TB of space but between all of the porn, anime, movies and PC games I have only got about 250GB of space left. I already deleted most of the anime I was keeping on it but it is getting filled back up already.
I have every season/episode of Monogatari, SZS, SYD, Hidamari, Slayers, and Patlabor, most Oshii, Yuasa, Nakamura, Abe, and Ikuhara stuff, some other shows I loved, and a whole bunch of movies too. This is after deleting a couple hundred gigs of stuff. Plus I have been watching/archiving Gundam and Takahashi Rumiko stuff as well.
I can't stop.
I agree with the people who say it is too big, but it is also pretty worth it, the show is great, and the raw BD releases were ridiculously grainy. I am going to need a new external hard-drive by time all the BDs are subbed.
>FIlled my 1TB
>Started prioritizing what I actually want to keep and not just saving everything I actually finished that season
Gotta get a 2TB now I guess. Fucking bluray Nadia, monogatari and spice and wolf taking up muh space
Wow thats pretty good looking manbo
I hate 1GB episodes because with upload speed is 35 kb/s. I don't understand why my ISP does this. 2015, people should have +250 kb/s upload.
it´s called DeadFish
Hold up, /a/.
BDs are also upscaled from 720p? Surely that can't be true.
Depends, a lot of anime is produced at 720p or lower, meaning that yes, the 1080p BDs are an upscale. That said, some studios, like KyoAni, have started making more shows at around 960p, meaning that 1080p BDs are much more viable for those. And movies are larger in general.
No, an indirect object is preceded by a preposition, a direct object is only preceded by a verb (or followed by it, after the head movement in a question). For instance, one could say "To whom are you sending that letter?" but not "Whom are you seeing?" The latter case has to be "who."
>Should I only download 1080p for anime produced in this decade/movies?
No, BD for older shows that were made in film are also 1080p most of the time, pic related in Outlaw star BD
Not necessarily, some upscales done by the studios for BDs are really nice, the Gunbuster ones for instance. If it's a rerelease for bluray, it's probably worth at least checking out. I'd say TV series are where 1080p is least worth it, even for some recent shows. I'd say pre-2010 TV is a little iffy.
Huh, ok, I guess that makes sense. Usually I default to 720p (or even 480 if I really don't care) because I don't tend to save a lot of shows.
But this is good to know for the few shows I do keep, thanks anons.
Still haven't made much of a dent in my drive yet. This is over 100 series.
Poorfag here as well, I just delete things after I watch them, so I can download more stuff. I don't rewatch things due to time. But don't sacrifice quality for HD, it isn't worth it.
>None of them have LoGH, Gasaraki or VOTOMs, the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Giant Gorg or Michiko e Hatchin
My autism won't last. Well at least they have a tutorial so I can make my own.
Tell me about it. I'll need to get another hdd now.
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK WHIRRRRRRRRRR
Do you even have a 10TB ZFS storage server, faggot? Learn to hoard.
I just delete stuff when i need the space
In all seriousness, YIFY is at the top of every aggregate site and the best seeded. I don't know enough about video encoding to know what's wrong with them, and the quality is decent for the size.
If I like a movie I'll go out of my way to find a better copy but YIFY is just too easy if I'm casually looking for something to watch.
when shitty low res AVI movies were usually encoded with target size of ~700MB how can you expect a good result from a 720p encode barely larger? don't even have to look at it to know it's garbage.
Anons usually don't make those. You can make them yourself but there are a lot already made, mostly for popular series so if you have a non popular series, you have to make it. Also the colorful ones like that anons are harder to find for non popular anime and not all regular ones have colorful ones. You are better off with square icons like >>119456490 since an anon makes them and there have the square icon for most anime. For folder icons go to
Reddit foldericonsalso has a plave for downloading these in packs and requesting new ones to be made but makers only really make them for popular series and even series that have icons. So use Gimp or Photoshop to remove the background from an anime pic you want to be made into an icon and ask them to make it or hell, make it yourself if you have skill.
Seriously, the only things worth saving are things you use to fap.
Well, you probably won't be able to watch even 35mm things in 32K either, they're gonna top out at 8K for usefulness. Just like 1080p is more or less the limit for 16mm before it's just giving grain the definition over the general image.
Some people get a sense of satisfaction out of having a huge library of stuff. Personally, I don't, but I can understand it.
It can also be helpful if any of your friends want to get anime from you. I have a pal who loves to hoard, and he's in every private tracker I can think of, so I can always go to him when I need a movie or anime series that I can't get otherwise.
I downloaded a 5gb batch torrent the other day, went to go set it up to download the first episode first and was too late, the entire lot was done 3 minutes later.
Its great not having shitty internet and needing to store everything on my harddrives, which are again full (4tb).
480p is underrated as fuck for just comfy watching.
Plus now that I've discovered madVR I've realized how shitty my laptop really is. I probably don't even get the full benefit of 1080p
I actually laughed at this list, and I even like some of the shows on there. Good job anon, the rest of you need to take yourself way less serious.
Otherwise this is thread is retarded, cause storage is cheap and easy to come by.
I remember downloading about 18GB of pure loli rape and feeling scared someone would see it so I ended up erasing it
The only real shit on there is Angel Beats, Bleach, One Piece, and SAO. The rest are good to great but 22 anime and and 4 bad is 18% bad. Don't watch One Piece, read it. This anon is still pretty new to anime. Cut 'em some slack, we were all there.
3+ TB here
5TB more of western TV series and Films on the volume
I remember thinking I had a chance with a cute girl and did everything to improve myself.
Also thinking a porn folder would be unnecessary, I deleted all of it.
Biggest mistake ever, the girl didn't even give a shit about me.
Never delete porn, don't even think about it, even if you don't even look at your porn collection.
My dad doesn't download anime. I download it for him. He is a high school teacher and lets his students use his laptop during breaks. So there is anime on his laptop but the students found hentai on there. I haven't heard the end from the people that found it. Now I get asked if I downloaded it for him. The real question is how he got it from because he can't and doesnt download.
To play games and watch anime on. If students bring stuff like that to the school it gets taken away or stolen but no one will take a teachers. He only lends to it students he trusts anyway.
I was the teacher's pet. I yet I extracted the password database of the school network. Including grading sheets of some lower classes which some teachers were retarded enough to store on the student-accessible network instead of the separate administrative one.
Trust is easily misplaced.
>babbi's first mecha
I'd that that external harddrive of yours, open it and pour in a bottleful of oil inside.
