It's actually okay and tries to advance the plot, unlike IS. I still don't like what they did with the MC, and they will probably resolve it in a totally stupid manner (I have read only the first two volumes).
Apart from that, it's pretty nice to see how much Okiura's art has developed since IS. You can basically follow his progress.

Personally, I think Ayato (Gakusen's MC) is extremely, fiercely generic. But in this case, "generic MC" is a marked improvement over the utter shite that is Ichika.

As for Bahamut, my interest in it rose dramatically once I found out that its MC, Lux, was actively involved in the setting's politics and not just letting things happen to him (the usual contrivances to push him into an otherwise all-girls' school aside)
