ITS FUCKING HAPPENING NEW SEASON SPRING 2015 IN APRIL AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
MADAO MOVIE WHEN?
You're replying to a pasta.
>Just finished rewatching the series
>Cried for a good ten minutes over no new season
>Sugita in Gundam
There might be a God after all.
The real deal starts after episode 20 or something, the rest is pure fun.
PRAISE BE TO THE GORILLA, SUNRISE, AND GINTAMA
I always say to just watch it. I strongly disagree with most people about the first 20-25 episodes because I liked many of them. There are certainly some duds throughout the series, there are whole arcs that I pretty much hated but when you're marathoning you can quickly move past them and on to the next episodes. It's a fun ride.
Genderbender arc will be the funniest.
THE MOTHERFUCKING GENDER BENDER ARC
Time stop arc is funnier that the genderbender one
Can't wait for the Confessional arc, Afro arc, Love Drug arc and Shogun Assassination arc.
FUCK, this means that I have to start my Gintama backlog once again. 100+ episodes here I come!
That was the Dekoboko arc.
>Sadaharu becomes a horse
WHAT THE FUCK GIN, GENDERBENDING DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!
Madoka Yonezawa had already voiced Ginko briefly in the Monkey Hunter arc. Maybe she will return for that arc.
It's the adrenaline that comes from a beloved franchise getting its well deserved new season. Now fucking finish the last 63 episodes and make sure to watch the movies to understand the MASTERPIECE that is Gintama.
first 20 are sort of a slog, but from then on its pure gold
good maybe at episode maybe 40, and then I feel it mostly just gets better and better from there.
Episode 25 is so good though. This is probably because the chapter it's derived from is later on in the manga.
>Gintama 10th anniversary special announcement with three blank circles
>Scratch head and think "Anime" in hiragana
>New anime is announced but it's only 1 episode ova. "Oh well better than nothing"
>Date of airing comes, secretly hope for a new season announcement. Nothing happens.
>FUCK MY LIFE
>Realize that there's still the main Jump Festa in December with Gintama stage and based Sugita as one of the guests
>Hope they announce new season
>Today finally comes
>I've been antsy the whole fucking day
>It's time for stage
>Start spamming 2ch for hope of Gintama article
>FUCK MY LIFE TWICE THERE IS NO GOODNESS IN THIS WORLD
>Refresh 2ch for lels
>See Gintama Season 4 Post
>Make this thread
I can LITERALLY die happy right now.
Rie in it a lot, but this is one of the only roles I like her in, out of the ones I've seen.
Taiga in Toradora is so cute DFC, but the voice ruins her for me and personality ruins her for me.
Kagura in Gintama isn't really trying to be cute anyways so there's nothing ruined and being a immature little girl is part of her character. I felt the voice is appropriate.
First episode will start with the shot outside of their house with Gin saying "well, we just got past the opening and we're already out of budget."
indeed,I can't wait for Mai-HiME return next year
another BASED YEAR FOR SUNRISE
They fall within a range of obscurity, from obvious stuff to 'you'd have to be a Japanese citizen' tier. TL notes help, though.
We can always believe anon
I don't think sunrise can deliver two miracles in one year
>they announced Zegapain 10th anniversary project and now announced Gintama for spring season 2015
>implying they won't announce HiME return for spring or fall season
Sunrise is truly the miracle worker of anime
Agreed, but some say the same about fart jokes, poop jokes, and sex jokes, but Gintama does all of them well. The Renho arc had me crying, despite being one big Gundam reference.
Is this happening. Is this really happening? Is this reality?
Holy shit I'm so happy right now. Christmas has been saved
Accel World S2
Tiger & Bunny S2
A great original Mecha
Darker than Black S2 with Bones
Valvrave Movie explaining all the plot holes and Saki End
I want to believe
The manga is good, but the anime is top notch. The VA give a great feel to each character. When i hear Sugita i always recall Gintoki and it's the same for all the others. Madao never will be Shinji's father.
KEEP CRYING YOUR FAVORITE ANIME DIDN'T GET A NEW SEASON FAGGOTS
younger otose, kabukicho deva's arc specifically
>A great original Mecha
CrossAnge is one of'em and it could lead to a franchise hit in years to come
im gonna cry this is the best news of my life
Now you helped build this false expectation that they'll get Imagine to voice female Gintoki. They got Nakamura to voice Kintoki. I believe in Sunrise.
That works too. I think I'll be pleased either way.
I started the manga recently and just finished the benizakura arc, it's funny enough as it is so I think I'm gonna have to switch to the anime with the way /a/ talks about it.
>When i hear Sugita i always recall Gintoki and it's the same for all the others
The last 2 years of the manga have been a bunch of semi serious arcs and 2 or 3 major plot arcs. The last one just ended yesterday and it seems like the next serious arc will be the conclusion.
Based Sugita as Kyon and Gintoki? In the same season? HOLY MOTHER FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
>Sugita as Kyon and Gintoki in Spring
I DIDN'T REALIZE UNTIL NOW
It's possible. It might explain this season but we need to wait for episode count to make sure. If this is going to fucking huge and by that I mean 4+ cour then it's very possible he could be ending it and this is the final cash grab by Sunrise before Gintama dies.
We have one probably 15+ chapter serious arc guaranteed, which means we also have a buffer of 40+ comedy chapters guaranteed. Also, he's said he won't end Gintama until Madao is redeemed, so him and some other characters are probaby gonna get some semi serious mini arcs before or after to resolve their character arcs. Overall if he is planning on ending it we've probably got another 2 years or so guaranteed until that happens.
DOES is hype as fuck.
This was back in May. He probably got better since their next concert is later this month.
>>Winter 2015 :
>JoJo Egypt Hen
>>Spring 2015 :
>Nisekoi Season 2
>Shokugeki no Souma
JUMP is really going full force this season. Is there any manga that's still serialized but haven't been animated there?
And another reason added to the "why you shouldn't kill yourself" list.
Well, this is it /a/. I was considering catching up on my fall backlog during Christmas but this shit is my top priority now.
To the marathoners, how long did it take you to finish Gintama?
Jesus, Spring 2015 is one packed as fuck season.
Not sure if I can handle it.
I can't even imagine
If you count everything by Shueisha :
Kuroko no Basket S3
Ore no Monogatari
Saint Seiya Soul of Gold
To Love Ru Darkness S2
Owari no Seraph
JoJo Egypt Hen
Nisekoi Season 2
Shokugeki no Souma
And they still have to promote their new Light Novel section.
- One Piece
- Dragon Ball Kai: Bu Saga
- Kuroko no Basuke
- World Trigger
- Assassination Classroom
- Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma
- Jojo Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
- Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V
- To Love-Ru Darkness
- Seraph of the End
- Kekkai Sensen
I thought summer was weak, with little to follow, but then the fall lineup came and so much seemed good that I couldn't keep up. Now winter and spring afterward also look promising. Times are good.
275 posts and only 79 unique posters? The fuck is wrong with /a/? Do the majority of /a/nons not like Gintama?
It's midnight for most anons. Some of them are out having fun (who am I kidding?) or already passed out from being piss drunk.
Maybe it's just me but I always notice that Friday and weekend nights are the slowest times on /a/. Wait till later at noon for the thread to pick up.
BASED SUNRISE YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH
MY CHRISTMAS IS SAVED
It's going to be a new season I think they're just mixing words up. The Japanese article op put mentioned a 4th season. But then again if you think about the first Gintama was 201 eps. Gintama' was 51 and Gintama: Enchousen was 12. Those can be considered 3 separate series if you wish.
There's just too many puns and wordplay based humor that not even the best translators can properly convey.
It's why comedy series are the hardest to translate, and gag manga almost never gets an official release overseas unless its part of a franchise (like the Rock Lee spin-off)
Your mom is overrated you fucking beta faggot.
>tfw publisher announced the localization of Gintama for April 2015 a couple of months ago
I don't know if they're crazy or great.
Or knew about this new season and plan to have it carry the serie, there's quite a large Gintama fanbase here.
It's widely admitted that Gintama was the best translated work of Viz.
Of course, they dropped it.
Some official volumes were actually scanned to cover the holes the different scanlators before HMWN have left, but I am not sure if all 23 volumes.
Fuckin' muricans. Why are we such hypocrites when it comes to this shit. Gorilla is too good for us.
Ok what the actual fuck. How has no one uploaded the new Gintama BDs? I want to rewatch that shit.
I read Viz's translation for all 23 volumes and absolutely loved their work. Switching from that to some half-assed engrish translation, it's not even funny in comparison.
Wait, the french translate it? How good is the translation? I'll check it out next time i go there.
It's funny how the french will often translate stuff before the americans, I read Jojo in french
Viz is cancer.
But with Gintama they touched something out of this world. It was probably a freelance translator, like One Piece's stephen.
I imagine they found this guy on a street, cold and hungry, willing to translate anything for food. They brought him in, warmed him and fed him and in response to the first act of kindness in his life, he gave them the best localized manga ever.
But one night he suddenly disappeared. The yonly found a carton of unfinished strawberry milk on his table.
I can't stand to read the manga anymore, and the anime's translation is significantly better but...
Is there anyone who switched from the manga to the anime?
Are you still enjoying it as much?
It's like I don't want to cheapen my memories of a great manga.
This is fucking amazing news.
There were so many times where I was so close to giving in and just reading the manga, but I persevered. I'll be experiencing the new arcs with full voice acting, OST and animation. Based fucking Sunrise
Waifu tournament Arc
My first time watching it all up was about 6 years for the whole thing. The thought of not having any new Gintama to watch constantly scared me so I didn't want to finish it. I'd rewatched it multiple times throughout that though.
BASED SUNRISE. Singehandeldy saving 2015.
This makes up for the many disappointments of 2014.
>Watching Samurai Champloo/One piece/Sengoku Basara
>Hear Hijikata's voice
>check and find it's the same voice actor
How did he voice the retro guy from Chihayafuru, I have no idea
Usually, the standard duration for episodes are 23-24 mins long. It's too early to say if MAL's info for the new season is accurate but I was just wondering why it isn't the standard length.
Christmas is saved, thank you based sunrise.
>See the news
THANK YOU BASED JESUS. I'M SORRY I DOUBTED YOU.
Anon, I want to get as much Gintama as I possibly can. Getting just 20 instead of the standard is a crime, considering that the OP, ED, etc accounts for around 3 minutes of it.
Every second of Gintama is precious.
SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR IN 2015
This is the gif I wanted to post.
Thank you based Sorachi.
I hadn't realized how much I like Gintama.
Maybe I should rewatch everything slowly. Make it last a few years.
