Manga is on the left. Sorry for the shit image, don't have my camera handy.
All I've got is NGE, minus fucking Volume 14.
>minus fucking Volume 14.
Is that notoriously hard to get, like some of BLAME!'s English releases?
The thought has crossed my mind, and then some white paint on monster vol 10 and szs 6.
>Yahari LN #1-10
>Uchuu Kyoudai vol #1
>Saenai Heroine #1
>Madoka Rebellion vol #1-3
>Jojo Part 3 vol #18-29
>Suzune Magica #1 and #2
>Yuri Kuma Arashi #1
> 東方茨歌仙 ~Wild and Horned Hermit #1-4
>Boku Girl #1-4
>Washio Sumi wa Yuusha de aru LN
And this beauty: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/4781600115
I haven't bought shit in months, but I'll eventually get all the volumes for S&W, EVA, Toradora! and Aku no Hana. AoT was a gift by my brother and I'm not too sure if I want to keep buying Kieli. Missing Haruhi #3 because I lent it to a friend. I have Elfen Lied because I
actually like the manga. It's fun to read.
Can't be arsed taking a photo.
Black Lagoon 1-3
Dragon Ball missing just a few volumes and a bunch of Dr Slump.
Eden: It's an Endless World complete.
Gundam Wing 1-3(only because I subscribed for it along with a bunch of other manga, to this day I haven't finished even the first volume and it's been more than a decade)
Karin 1-2 in a single volume
Love Hina 1-2
Neon Genesis Evangelion 1-11 with no volume 6 and twice the 7 because I'm mentally challenged
Taniguchi Jiro's Zoo in Winter and Solitary Gourmet
I got into Dragon Ball as a teenager, bought it and Dr Slump because of Toriyama, as well as some stuff(GitS, first volumes of Exxxaxion, Gundam Wing, and Eden) because I saw in manga magazines I bought because of Dragon Ball. I didn't really get into manga/anime back then since I couldn't afford to buy almost anything and I didn't have internet yet.
NGE I started buying right after I properly got into anime a couple years later. Got distracted but I'll but the remaining volumes eventually.
Black Lagoon, Love Hina, Karin, and Zoo in Winter is stuff I randomly picked out at bookstores in the past couple years on a whim. I'll get the rest of Black Lagoon eventually.
At the point I bought Solanin I already read the scanlation and it became one of my favorite manga so I kind of felt obliged. Solitary Gourmet I bought recently because I've been meaning to reading for a long time because of some touhou doujinshi, and because by now I became quite fond of the mangaka.
Not really much considering the first thing from this list I bought in 2001. First I was a poor kid with monthly allowance that was enough for a single book or 1.5 volumes of manga, and I was way more into Sci-Fi and Fantasy books than into manga. Then I was a poor NEET for a couple years and while I have a job now living expenses take up most of my meager paycheck.
If you can tell where I live from this list, please don't tell anyone.
Is licensing light novels really that unprofitable? It worked out for Haruhi didn't it? Surely publishing the F/Z novel in the west would work? They could market the KnK novels as 'from the author of FSN!' or some shit. I don't know if I'm out of touch with popularity, but TM is pretty popular over here right? Maybe it's not a question of popularity. Does anyone here know how it works?
You're out of touch with the times. Just recently, they've licensed:
>No Game No Life
>Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka
And they're still publishing Spice & Wolf.
If anything, they're licensing popular light novels for the entry-level fanbase. Fate/Zero might be a little too much, but it's possible, unless Type-Moon is against the idea of filthy gaijins reading stuff related to their works.
Post yfw people PAY for ching chong ping pong korean bootleg comics.
That's also why you won't probably see the F/SN VN licenced for the west for a long while, even the censored version. The market for straight VNs is iffy at best, and the ones that actually manage to do decently have other gameplay elements (999/VLR has puzzle shit, ace attorney and danganronpa has whodunnit/detective shit, you could go as far as to say persona is kind of like a vn, but it's more a RPG with VN like elements so to me that's pushing it).
That is all I own
A copy of Conan vol 67 in Chinese, I picked this up on a whim when I saw it in a convenience store here. It was only like a dollar, I bought it sort of as a joke to myself that one day I would become proficient enough with Chinese to be able to read this.
There's been a lot of these threads lately. Here's my collection minus the 13 volumes of Golgo 13 that I bought myself for Christmas that remained wrapped under the tree.
I'd also buy the fuck out of Punpun if it got licensed.
More than a "proper" handling of my finances would suggest, less than i'd like because said money limits.
I already know that i'd be ruined by a job.
I'd end up spending all of the money on weeaboo shit and a new PC, guaranteed.
>tfw first 6 Punpun volumes came in the mail
>other half plus Ctrl+T is on the way to local comic store
And with that i should have pretty much all of Asano that got published here.
Except A girl by the Sea, but i didn't like it that much.
Also volume 10 of AnH coming this month here for me.
Shitty pic, but you can tell where my priorities lay.
Thinking about getting more art books before anything. This Ping Pong book is fucking gorgeous.
Lone Wolf and Cub and Samurai Executioner look like they're not even meant to be read. Too fucking thick.
>Too fucking thick.
Thick volumes are fine, but you have to make them larger and sturdier as you add pages.
Small (as "front" view) volumes with too flexkible covers and regular binding/glue/material are horrible to read and break damn easily.
>posting your H-manga on /a/
Did I mention these particular shelves are two rows deep?
I keep the ones I think are good or might read again. The others I sell back to Book-Off, which is where I get most of them in the first place.
No variation in taste. Bonus points for imports, though.
Good, nice quantity and variation.
Pretentious grimdark seinenfag.
Pretentious, low quantity.
Meh. Older pic. Have a few more volumes of Parasyte and Terra Formars now.
How come my berserk manga is tiny?
I hope to get more after christmas.
You idiots who buy the three volume evangelion books are going to get fucked, there's only 14 volumes.
You'll end up having 2 that are smaller and thinner than the Dark Horse Berserk
Just got all 11 omnibus Tenjo Tenge full contact edition. Pleased as pie.
Thinking of buying the Japanese releases of Yuru Yuri, Nichijou, and Blame because I don't think North American releases, or rereleases, are forthcoming.
It's a less campy take on Gundam. Characters, events, and backstories are more fleshed out. It really expands on Char's backstory. Yaz's art is really beautiful.
Vertical's release is a hardcover printed on nice paper. The translation has a couple of weird lines but other than that it's pretty good.
Nice collection you got there.
3 rows deep with stacked manga on top of manga
All the Haruhi books.
All the Yotsuba volumes.
All the Rurouni Kenshin volumes in omnibus format.
The first omnibus volume of FMA.
May get the Hataraku Maou-sama and Log Horizon LNs when those come out.
Sorry for lack of taste.
Canada is no excuse!
I'm trying to learn myself. I got a moon copy of TLR, and told myself I won't read any more of it until I can read it in moon. It is finally the motivation I need to get started.
nihongo master race reporting
did any of you fags buy japanese books?
Did it once, never again. Too bad no one plans on translating Starving Man.
See second wide shelf from top in >>118628897 Though like I said, I haven't read any of them. I got through a couple of the stories in the レキシントンの幽霊 and 走れメロス short story collections, but I generally prefer brainless fun and lesbians to substance.
can you put a time stamp on them?
you see, I´ve seen that image a lot of times on these threads so its hard to me trust you
Infrequently, and I generally do it via luggage rather than post.
I think you're getting me mixed up with someone else, this is only the second time I've posted. Why does it matter to you? I didn't even read the books you're interested in.
These were my first imports, I try to buy lolicon, trap and gender bender manga
My latest buy was Date a Live encore 3 limited edition
I have ichigo 100% and some shonen jump magazines english ones, I have the gentlemen alliance cross too only 1 volume
I guess I'll post this again. I have a fondness for shitty harems.
I could understand your problem with the others, if you're one of those hive-mind faggots, but if you're seriously bitching about FMA I will straight up fight you
Oh hey, it's the other guy with that one series.
Got a new shipment in.
Hello Tang Umbrella bro.
In terms of physical quality, paper's thin and in general tanks won't withstand as much abuse as trade paperbacks. But that's probably a moot point for most people.
In terms of presentation, you're always getting a slipcover, which makes the reading experience classier. And you're never going to get some weeb ad copy on the back cover, or find typos, or come to terms with atrocious typesetting. You're just buying a normal book with normal quality standards.
>All these niggas with the Spice and Wolf novels only up to Volume 6
What the fuck, me too. Whenever I see that Amazon has copies available it's always during a time when I shouldn't be spending money on stupid shit like books so I've never been able to get my hands on a copy
I'd order 7 because I can get 8 at Books a Million, but I have to save my money for bills and rent. Every time I think I might be able to get it, something comes up. It's fucking annoying.
Let me know what you think of it.
>.hack//Legend of the Twilight
>Spice and Wolf (manga) volume 1
>Deadman Wonderland volume 1
>.hack//Another Birth Volume 1
And dat Kansai-ben really is the icing on the cake.
My meager collection.
I'll be buying a lot very soon though.
Of course it is!
It is nice to see almost all /a/nons having either that or a volume of Yotsuba sitting around too.
My starting collection.
please be gentle sempai
/m/an here the series is great if you are a fan, I would recommend buying them
Its not much now, I plan on getting Blame! and the rest of Black Lagoon
Because they're expendable entertainment.
Only black and white means only printing one ink instead of four, letting you escape with even cheaper paper in the telephone catalog-sized magazines. It also cuts off the need for a colorist and color-QC. I suggested this for /co/ to get paper rolling again, but america seems to have fucked itself over.
When reading, B&W is easier on the eyes, and removes the jump from color drawings to B&W text.
A good adventure starts at page 1000.
Q-Ko Chan, and a few volumes of Knights of Sidonia.
Even ignoring the fact that you don't even have to be familiar with Gundam for The Origin, if you have /any/ sort of care in the world about good science fiction at all, that goes the distance to flesh out it's story, characters, and world, complemented by some of the best art in manga, sometimes in color, and other nifty extras, then grab it.
This was 4 years ago when I moved in to my current crib.
It's nearly doubled since then, but I'm too lazy to clean up the mess in the room to take pics.
I would say I forgot the pic but it massively exceeds the file size limit.
I have too many books, and besides I don't think people would recognize half of them.
Here's the more recent purchases though, I haven't really organized them, just stuffed them in a open bookshelf.
Notable stuff are like OPM, Mob Psycho 100, Birdmen, Shut Hell, Twin Spica, etc.
The bottom shelf shown is all Log Horizon and Gate JSDF.
And in 4 years the top got completely crammed with figuring boxes...
Looks like Billy's got some new names on the hit list
Might as well post mine.
I sold/gave them all after realizing that I won't ever re read them and that I haven't even unpacked them after moving more than 1 year ago. Feel liberating man letting go of your earthly possessions.
Those (especially first 2) are pretty much a staple of most /a/non shelves, to be honest, so doesn't count much.
Unless you're living in a country that hates SoL and cute girls and have to import at very least US/Eng/FR releases to get you hands on them.
>Evangelion spines spell out EVANGELION completely on top
>it's not even the complete series
That's a very cute setup, anon.
Also, expecting 2 more volumes of Shokugeki.
I only have the first one, but it's fine. I asked for 2-4 for christmas. The only thing that sucks is that, because it had 28 volumes, the 28th is not included, so you have to buy that separately.
There's more above and below this pictures, but I have a pretty shitty taste.
Spice and Wolf manga.
Still have to order some volumes (and hunt down the 1, as seems to be out of stock/print right now here), but i'm quite happy with it as whole (translation, format and such).
I forgot how fucking perfect manga Holo was, damn.
All of TLR darkness, assman's art book, and a collection of comic LO covers.
The last Trigun Maximum omnibus and latest Farmland Saga.
I was goning to slap in a huge load from Bookdepository, but christmas came in between. Shit would just be stalled by two weeks.
My next shipment left honto almost a week later than I thought it would, so it may have ended up in holiday SAL hell.
So I used to waste a lot of money.
Literally retarded. If you want to pretend you're better than people with that kind of shit, at least do something smart like sell all of it. People will buy manga in bulk if you put a ton of random volumes on ebay for about 30% off.
Not normally a manga man but picking up the first volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: the Origin tomorrow, pretty excited
>around 2 years back
>still live with parents
>half-awake in bed
>hentai manga I've read the night before next to it
>mother comes in
>grabs the manga and looks through some pages
>"What the fuck anon, this isn't even in Japanese"
Berserk's English translation seems good and most people recommend it over its scanlation groups. A lot of bad manga translations occurred during the Tokyopop years because they were hiring quasi-fluent college students for translations that were also paid very poorly for their work (something like $7 a page where a professional gets paid around $20). Tokyopop also liked to make series seem more American by altering dialogue which happened with the English edition of Battle Royale. Del Ray got some shit for their translation of Nodame Cantabile by a translator for viz/Fantagraphics because according to him their wording in dialouge made some of the characters seem ruder than how they're originally implied to speak in Japanese.
It seems like the translation standards have improved since then though.
I was reading the scanlations for Berserk before realizing that maybe there was a better version available. I was using the Bakabt version.
It had "Guts" as "Gattes" or something. What's up with that?
It's like I'm really inside a Walden's Books or Hastings! I can practically smell the unbathed neck beard who's sat on the floor for the past 2 hours with no intention of buying anything!
Mine yellow, yes, but it's just not worth the trouble to pack them up like that. It's not like I have anything that ranks as a collectible anyways. I buy my books to be handled and read.
Sorry about the grain,
12800 ISO because its night time
I worry about dust more than yellowing. Its an expensive option, but a glass door billy bookcase is an option. My windows face north, so no direct sunlight, and the humidity is always low b/c of my locale.
Same. I used to be picky about books and making sure I buy them new but now almost everything I get is secondhand from Abe. My room is bookstacks galore aside from the more expensive art books getting special treatment.
Black lagoon fan + guard player
i like you
try warhammer, fantasy or 40k. You will then know what its like to have the disposable income of a meth addict.
It also depends on were you live and what you're buying.
Leaving aside moon import, when looking through overseas amazon (to get yotsuba and azumanga that will never be published here)i was kind of shocked seeing the average prices were about he double of what i'm used to see.
And a Punpun volume costs around twice one of a long running battle shonen as, say , OP or NnT, so your tastes have a say in your budget.
Image is from last year, but I haven't bought many books lately.
Half my shit is in boxes in a closet. I'm such a bum I don't even have a shelf for them, just cardboard boxes and my best camera is on my Vita.
A part of my collection, can't be bothered with taking a better picture since everything is in boxes right now.
Haven't read it yet either, I'll also send everything back home soon so I won't be able to read much more of it before I return as well.
Show draws some of the best lolis, that's just the way it is.
Choujigen Megami Tsuuen
Choujigen Hello New World
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Countless more I read it on my tablet d/l through mango app, read through perfect viewer. I can get any manga I want for nothing. I've read more than you poor fags can afford.
>Are you that much of a casual you don't where to download manga? GTFO
i love u anon
you just made my day
All the good ones. None of them in English, of course.
I'm a huge fan of both him and Hanazawa. Solanin and Boys on the run are on the list for next time. I'd get Ressentiment too, but I'm too scared customs will check the package and decide I should be taken in for questioning. Though I guess the same could have happened with umibe no onnanoko.
Oh and also I threw Ode to Kirihito in the trash already because it was shit and taking up way too much space for how good it is and I have Azumanga in Japanese at the far left too, so the English one doesn't count. I only got it for the extra illustrations.
