Nanoha has to be the most balls-to-the-wall awesome mahou shoujo franchise in terms of action.
>the whole Nanoha A's movie
>those cartridge sound effects
I cum every time.
/m/y nigga. The cartridge system was pure genius.
That's because it isn't for shoujos
The Red Queen is probably one of the most entertaining swords in games
>The sound of timing the sword revving right to fill the meter
>be a walking WMD
>can't aim for shit
There's something incredibly moe about this combination.
FORCE. The manga is shot tho and it got canned.
Max Heart 2, I think.
Madoka. As overrated as it is grimedge. Nanoha is probably closest to MSG, in that it's the first I can think of that treats magic as a science and military resource, the same way MSG pioneered mecha as such.
The writing was mostly shit, but the art and a few scenes were worth it existing.
Which ones? Movie ones were good visually, but the official subs had an incredible amount of errors. Don't know about Strikers's BDs. I kinda remember seeing some pics from them that looked ok.
This + the sound stages (audio dramas) for each season.
Quick comparison made using raws of the BD release found on Nyaa.
Here's this shot from the DVD release.
Soon they will remember.
Soon NanoFateVivio will bathe together in episode 1.
Soon Nanoha and Teana will obliterate both teams with Starlight Breakers.
Soon genki Lutecia.
Soon Miura's ass.
And here's the BD one.
Should probably use .png for comparisons, I know, but this is just for a rough idea.
It's easy enough to rip the subs from the DVD release and slap them on BD raws, just that a few episodes need minor re-timing and a handful of signs were hardsubbed.
Movies are glorious PROPAGANDA...I mean, accurate historical recounts...courtesy of the TSAB. All records that might have implicated a high ranking military official in a potentially universal catastrophe were not expunged, because they did not exist. And such lies and besmirchments would not have been included.
The first animated series is at best average, the Movie 1st is much better, I'd say skip the first series and go for the Movie, you won't miss much aside of pointless filler.
The second animated season is much better, but the movie is great too and has better action, you should probably watch both if you have the time, or if you just want to rush it just go for both movies.
Speaking from someone who got started with the first movie:
First movie I say would be decent to watch. Just keep in mind it's a movie (so they had a bigger budget!) and changes a few things compared to the TV counterpart. It's still worth watching the TV series for some of the character moments, although it does drag IMO.
Second movie isn't really a substitute, considering they cut material from the TV series because of total runtime.
They both function as in-universe movies as well, complete with the first movie having a commentary track with the characters. So expect cover ups and not necessarily historically accurate to the actual events.
A reminder that Fate will moan when Nanoha sprays all over her face.
>Madoka rip off
>Madoka created 2011
Movie 2nd doesn't have Snow Rain and so will always be inferior, despite the first-person view of getting punched in the face.
My favorite part of this clip is how Hayate's firing sigil is the Belkan triangle but Long Arch's supporting aiming sigils are the Mid circles.
Part of me wonders if she has that much mana, why doesn't she just make a huge strong shield and just go RAMMING SPEED on large structures.
It's not "reloading." Think of it more like an overdrive/overclocking mode, the capacity to allow the device to function above its normal limits with little build-up and mediate any self-inflicted damage in the process.
Much like the Red Queen from DMC4 and its "Exceed" system.
The cartridges are like capacitors. Think of all the mooks who are slaving away at cartridge factories just so our Aces can blast away willy nilly. Or Shamal when she was Yagami-ke mom, crowd control, AND ammo factory.
