I pick the girl that's dying within a year, at best.
You don't have to samefag just to start a conflict
I'll pick Illya over anyone every time.
This is an Illya thread, right? I can go ahead and post pictures of her then?
Of course. It certainly isn't a Tohsaka thread.
>illya will never turn you into her own personal lovedoll
It's in the middle of winter and snowing.
The CGs just do a shitty job of showing that
I want to marry Illyasviel Von Einzbern!
>implying this isn't cute as fuck
Because she's not an obnoxious albino bitch.
Why can't the Emiya/Einzbern families be happy?
Why does Illya stop aging? Do they actualy explain this? You can clearly see a difference between Zero and Stay Night, but she clearly doesn't age ten years. Does she just age slowly, or did she just stop when she hit ten?
But Iris seemed to age normally.
Ahh, So Iri started out as an adult? That makes sense.
Let's just keep it to Ilya, anon
Ilya is cute but she's kind of bumfuck insane
That's nothing. Have some more of her singing:
I won't take any chances, I'll take both
So is pretty much everyone else in Fuyuki.
Rin, but Rin will never betray me so I'll go with the killer loli that might if I don't make her happy.
That's Shirou's fault, and I was worried about dying by not pleasing the killer loli. Rin would in fact never kill you, unless you are in a horrible state and need to be put out.
>Implying Rin isn't the one who betrayed Archer in his timeline
>Having a waifu so disgustingly poor that she has please old men for money just so she can pay for her food
How would Rin benefit in any way from betraying Shirou?
llya, DEM CHEEKS
>Issei was fake Assassin's master
No that's stupid.
>Bazett was Lancer's master.
Maybe if you can still find a way for Kotomine to still fit in, but it would be completely different.
What do you mean? Issei being hypnotized by Caster into being FA's master or consciously being his master? Also Bazett and Lancer would be almost impossible for anyone to take down
Illya comes with maids, Tohsaka only comes with a worm-ridden slut.
Don't make me turn this into a powerlevel discussion
Lancer buffed with his own runes and Bazett's stalls Gil long enough until he's frustrated and takes out EA. Then Fraggle Rock GG
Lancer on his best day with Kotomine as a Master might just have a chance of killing Berserker by himself. if Bazett's there, his chances are way better. OR while Lancer Gay Bulges Beserker, Bazett kicks Illya's head off
My point was actually that in the main story, Gilgamesh is also a person who should be "almost impossible for anyone to take down", yet it happens, anyway, so just the presence of very strong character doesn't necessarily completely railroad the story, because plot
Bazett's fraggy makes no real difference. Of course, she'll give him more mana, but that won't help him much.
>Lancer Gay Bulges Beserker, Bazett kicks Illya's head off
That's literally they're only chance to win, but it's extremely slim.
Shirou is a strong independent sword who don't need no whore.
Maybe, it's kind of hard to tell. It might be that Sakura might not turn out to have such a jealous streak if she weren't sent away and Rin might not have been such a stick in the mud.
Granpa. Money. You know.
They seemed to be pretty happy together before the whole thing with the adoption and the worms happened, so I think it's possible Sakura wouldn't develop as much (if any) resentment if Rin were to get the crest in such an scenario. She might even adopt a supportive role towards her sister? Who knows.
Lets you summon Leonhard Euler as a heroic spirit.
And let me guess, you think Sakura's a virgin, right?
No, I don't think she is.
I know she is.
>I yell, hoping to make her back down
>He just takes control around Caren and Illya for his own reasons.
Sorry that's what I meant.
>F/H Ataraxia was shit. Shhiiiiiitttt.
No it wasn't. It was pretty fun and the main plot was nice.
No. If you approached it with a mind that you're about to read funny SOL hijinks in a F/SN setting yea, it was OK. If you, like me, went in expecting F/SN S2, it was utter garbage.
I pretty much just ended up clicking only the exclamation point scenes after I got through a few Rin scenes. The main story is legit good (if a bit needlessly complex), it's just the SOL that's crap
>it's just the SOL that's crap
Do you just hate the F/SN characters or something? I don't understand; the cast interacting with each other was great. There's a lot of funny moments and good scenes in there.
>implying this scene isn't better than most of F/SN
Not him, but I love SOL, That said, this particular slice of life happened to be crap.
>muh quiz ogre
>muh 4th wall
Excuse me if I want my SOL to take itself seriously.
No. The only good scene was the Archer bridge fight. That was alright.
Rinfags ITT, I'm playing Extra for the third time. Should I bother playing Rani's route this time? She's boring and I don't like the idea of killing Rin, but at the same time, just swapping Saber/Archer for Caster with the exact same story for the third time seems like it might be even more tedious.
The quiz ogre and minigames are just a small handful of scenes.
I don't recall this happening ever. If it did, it was very little.
There's a lot of them, but I don't think it's unreasonable. Especially when you consider it's one of the defining traits of Shirou. But there's plenty of scenes that have nothing to do with cooking or food. Most of the scenes with Caster, Rider, Rin or Illya, for example. Most of the cooking stuff is with Saber and Sakura (not surprisingly).
>the F/SN characters
They weren't even near the same thing. Everyone was wildly out of character in the SOL scenes, except maybe Lancer, Ilya and Taiga.
It's unreasonable because they straight up got additional writers for the fandisk. If it was just Nasu, you know, okay, maybe he has limited things he can come up with, but fuck, they got other people in and there were still tons of scenes about cooking.
And it's not like FSN, where the scenes can actually lead to stuff. Most of the time the cooking just all you get.
Rin in Extra is more or less how F/SN Rin would be given Extra's setting. Maybe F/SN Rin wouldn't have the, er, freedom fighter aspects, but she wouldn't fit into the plot as well if she didn't.
They could come up with anything involving the characters, but they chose.
The whole point of these scenes are to see the characters in new situations. Cooking was not something new to FSN.
>Shirou not acting like Shirou
>Saber h scene
>Sakura having split personalities between HF Sakura and an actual highschool girl without any issues.
>Rider. Rider rider. Rider rider? Rider rider, rider!
You weren't paying any attention, were you? Sakura became way more confident and outgoing, Saber became an infantilized hormonal teenage moeblob, Rider was far less withdrawn and more independent of Sakura (granted she never had much of a personality to begin with), Archer became nothing more than a long-winded trolling old prick, Caster retained none of her haughtiness or her deadly femme fatale aspects, and don't get me started on Gil.
My favorite scene was Lancer vs Bazette. It was essentially the last and final giant fuck you to everything she was trying to do by showing that for her, no matter how many times she could retry, she could never win the war since she could never beat that servant.
Well, yes, but it wouldn't mean anything in EXTRA even if she was. EXTRA Rin has an entirely different ideological conflict. However, she shares the same appearance, personality and role in the plot as F/SN Rin, which makes her close enough to me.
Sakuara's confidence is a natural consequence of post-HF as you see in the true end. Saber was always a moeblob (and she IS a hormonal teenager). Read Fate again. Rider wasn't a character. Since when was Archer not a trolling old prick? Caster simply mellowed out because she was not fighting anyone. Baby Gil is literally not the same person.
>Shirou didn't feel like Shirou
This literally makes no sense at all to me. Give me a specific example that's not Avenger in control.
>Rin is out of character (whenever she hits people)
Sounds like we've got ourselves a Rinfag in denial!
>they're all different people now because LOL Rin's multiverse experiment done gone boom LOL
And you wonder why we don't take Ataraxia seriously.
Been a while, and off the top of my head I can't give an specific examples, but I remember thinking countless times "This isn't Fate/UBW/HF" Shirou AT ALL.
>>And you wonder why we don't take Ataraxia seriously.
Well you aren't supposed to.
But all of Ataraxia's characters (besides Rin) are simply natural and logical consequences of post grail war survival and peace. I'll give you that Rider is mostly completely different, but she had no real character in F/SN besides "protect Sakura" anyways and it's not outlandish.
>natural consequence of post HF
Even assuming that everything in HA follows directly from HF (which it very explicitly does not), the emotional fallout from all the shit Sakura went through would likely still be affecting her after six months, even with everyone's support. People don't change that quickly.
>Saber was always a moeblob
Even in Fate, she tried to retain her dignity as a knight (with one or two exceptions). Not so in HA.
>Since when was Archer not a trolling old prick
He never was. You literally missed the point of Archer's character if that's what you thought he was (much like the writers). Archer in HA fucks with Lancer in fishing competitions and gives long winded speeches after rescuing cats in trees. Archer in F/SN was bitter towards Shirou because he wanted to change Shirou, not because he wanted to be.
>shitting on the UBW anime just because it proves your waifu is a violent bitch
>People don't change that quickly.
I disagree. People can change frighteningly fast. Some people can get over horrifying events quite fast. Sakura not being completely fucking insane is a good indicator that she can get over trauma really fast. I only brought up HF because it's obvious that HA takes place after she is freed from wormrape and that end explicitly talks about her getting more outgoing and confident. It's a logical development.
>Even in Fate, she tried to retain her dignity as a knight (with one or two exceptions). Not so in HA.
What the fuck does this even mean? She beats up Shirou if you don't make lunch for her in once choice. She's a huge moeblob in fate that does nothing but eat when she doesn't fight.
>He never was.
Did you not read the prologue or something? Yeah Archer is really a good guy at heart, but that doesn't mean he doesn't pick on people and act like a prick a lot. It's obvious that he likes to fuck with people; it's part of his twisted character.
Kuzuki is Shiki from the past brought to the future, just like how Ryunosuke was Shirou's dad.
Hey, I like a Rin that is forceful with Shirou.
Tsundere violence is normally frowned upon because it's played for shitty comedy, but that's not what they're doing in the anime. Rin shoves Shirou around to emphasize her points, to remind him that he can't afford to act as idiotically as he does.
Well, if that's the way you want it...
No he doesn't. From Nasu regarding Lancer vs Berserker.
>Lancer can use his runes and Noble Phantasm together to temporarily raise the rank to A, but it'd still be a very disadvantageous fight but "one with some chances".
He likely wouldn't win.
>this shit again
I don't get Sakurafags. I mean, I don't particularly like her, but I don't dislike her either. It seems dishonest to cherrypick attributes of characters like that. Oh, I don't like rape, so I deny the fact that Guts was raped too?
These traumas are what make the characters what they are. They create motivations and explain characterization. If Sakura wasn't raped, that makes her actions much less ambiguous and honestly makes her out to be a bit of a temperamental bitch.
But all in all, if deny Sakura's past, you deny her character in general, and that's just deplorable.
Wormfags are the worst, purely because they deny the worm.
It doesn't change a single thing other than retards not being able to fling buzzwords like "slut" and "used goods" at her. She was still tortured and experimented on for years.
>They come back
>Others ask what they were doing
>They say it involved ten paperclips, two pairs of socks and a Twister mat
I guess this is the Fate thread. Got around to watching this shit and he's as strong as a servant?
The fuck? Servants are stronger than humans due to grail magic in most cases (except vs weak upclose fighter like caster).
But versus Seiba who isn't holding back? Bullshit.
>servants are stronger than humans due to grail magic
She's holding back. She can't use her NP due to lack of mana and dangers with spending it all.
Anyway, it's three things:
1) He trained at his fighting style for literally his entire life. It was literally his entire fucking life until he was sent to kill his target.
2) His fighting style is so unorthodox and makes so little sense that literally everything he does is a huge surprise to saber. If it weren't for her intuition, she wouldn't be able to dodge any of it.
3) He's being buffed by caster, who is even more of a monster than F/Z's caster in terms of raw power.
ok I can't believe no one else is calling him a retard
no the grail doesn't make servants stronger. sure most servants will gain a skill or two from the class they're in and SOME servants receive a Noble Phantasm that represents an abstract idea about them (mainly writers who end up as Caster or Iskandar) but most Sevants are weaker than when they were alive, Cu and Herakles being prime examples
I'm not really buying into the servant vs human power levels fluctuation thing. Souichirou gets to choke a bitch, but the author goes to say that Ciel would barely be able to survive a defensive battle vs an average servant.
>went in expecting F/SN S2
Holy shit. What a faggot.
Let's not forget about UBW Shirou apparently being badass enough to take out Gil and Archer and HF Sakura becoming a Servant
and plotdevouring black hole.
The strongest person is whoever Nasu wants to be the strongest person.
I didn't enjoy the main story much.
Actually the story itself wasn't bad, but the nun rape and ending scene where everyone helps with the fight made no sense. It was leading up to Shirou/Avenger and Bazette (specifically Bazette) having to stop this by themselves since it was only happening because they wanted it to, which was fine. Then it turns into the big ass fucking war that everyone randomly decided to take part in because without them Shivenger would get overwhelmed and not be able to end everything?
I mean if you ignore that whole part and only think of the Avenger/Bazette part the ending was decent, but wow. Seemed like they just wanted an excuse for everyone to fight and pulled it out of their ass.
the fight between Shirou and Archer was about anything but strenght and against Gilgamesh, what was the most imporant wasn't the Reality Marble itself, but finding it a definite answer as to what constitues his self and his magecraft.
It's fun to discuss powerlevel shit, I do it too, but sometimes it makes us lose sight of the true significiance of the more important fights
The Archer fight makes 100% sense. Shirou didn't just take him down by brute force; he took him out mentally. Archer wanted to completely break the guy before killing him, so when he wouldn't back down from his ideals despite everything being thrown at him, it screwed with Archer. It started causing him to question his own beliefs and whether or not his ideals were a mistake. Ultimately he lost because he stopped believing in his cause.
Gil was Shirou's need resolution as a character. After overcoming himself and reaffirming this ideals weren't a mistake, he needed a challenge that would put him to the test. Thematically no one was better than Gil. The "fake" hero vs the first. It went hand in hand with the whole imitation against original theme seen throughout the route.
When I say the "main story", I refer only to the parts involving Avenger and Bazett (and the one or two where Caren was relevant). Most of the other stuff was really pointless, like Rin being in London or the fight with Archer on the bridge.
The nun rape was supposed to be about Avenger having feelings for Caren but not knowing how to express them like a normal human due to being, well, the embodiment of hatred. The war thing makes sense if you think about it in the context that their feelings about ending the four day cycle are still complicated and the friends represent their desire to end it while the monsters are their desire to perpetuate it. It's still a dumb excuse for a fight, but, uh, if you need to contextualize it, there you go.
I usually don't like characters like her, but Sella is simply adorable. The way she tries to hide her feelings behind a wall of hostility that slips into mischief, it's tsundere done right. That part where they investigated the wine cellar was bad for my heart.
Yes, really. It works way better as a game, as a story and as an audiovisual experience. The way it expands upon the characters and their stories just makes FSN look that much more incomplete.
>It works way better as a game, as a story and as an audiovisual experience
The fuck does that even mean? The story is basically 70% SoL scenes. Except for the Bazett and her parts of the narrative, it's basically just supplemental material that expands on some characters.
If I wanted just a million SoL scenes, I could read countless other VNs.
HA is supplemental material with a bit of plot added in to actually have some real content. You're kidding yourself if you actually think it somehow surpasses the original novel.
