How come nobody realizes Shirou is crazy in Fate route?
Nothing happens that forces him to really think about his ideals, and Rin never gets close enough to him emotionally to put 2 + 2 together to realize fully how fucked he is in the head.
To be fair, he does a good job of masking it with his incredible density.
because he's an honest guy with mind issues
It's just one part from the VN that shows what a messed up fella he is.
He basically cant have fun or live a normal life because of a combination of the trauma of the fire at the end of Zero and his subsequent decision to be a hero for Kiritsugu
To be perfectly clear, he's got a great deal of guilt because
During the fire, he watched a lot of people struggle to save each other and die in the attempt, while he moved on to save himself. At the very end everyone dies except for him, and he's brought back from the brink by Kiritsugu just as he's about to accept his death
Long story short, it's not like he's crazy. It's just his way of staying sane is very unhealthy.
Guilt has nothing to do with it, that is only the surface and the explanation given in Fate route that it is completely proved wrong in UBW.
Shirou "died" at the fire, he was hollow at that point. Then he saw Kiritsugu saving him being "happy" and totally went for that impulse, believing that would make him happy the way Kiritsugu was, even as contradictory that was.
>Neglecting to feed Saber
Men have died for that mistake, anon.
Kotomine explains this, too.
Along with absolutely everything else.
Shirou isn't really crazy, he's just looking for someone/something worthwhile to live and die for because he doesn't feel like he should be alive. I've met a lot of guys with similar positions.
Makes me wonder how often something like this happened.
Archer explains it pretty nicely in UBW too. The whole point of Shirou's fight with Archer is that he know he is right.
Also, Shirou also agrees that Kotomine is right at the end of HF.
I wouldn't trust Archer's explanation either.
But the "true" answer is what Shirou finds during his fight with Archer.
Or I am completly missunderstanding what you're trying to say
Because at the end, Shirou is just distortedly following it to be happy, trying to be a fake Kiritsugu.
That is just his nature as a hollow person trying to cling into something, so that is why Rin says she will be there to avoid him to turn bitter or to a wrong road.
The reason that Archer is calling his ideal "fake" is because the only reason Shirou has that ideal in the first place is because he's just imitating Kiritsugu. While Kiritsugu had an earnest desire to save the world that came out of the tragedy on Alimango Island and all of the terrible shit he saw while traveling around with Natalia, Shirou's desire to save the world is purely the result of his old self burning away in the fire and the psyche of his new self copying Kiritsugu in order to survive and rebuild.
Hindsight bro, HINDSIGHT. I've literally had girls put my hand on their breasts only to wonder what the fuck they are on about. This >>118433517 is fucking child's play for me
Shirou's got quite the harem going on.
In UBW because he saw her fending pretty well against Berserker so he never went with the "I was the one who should be hurt instead of her."
In HF because a lot of shit happens and he has no time to go with that whole thing. Also, he sees her defeat Caster and Rider easily so that kinda affects him like in UBW.
This can also be attributed to any kind of "survivor's guilt." Some forms are particularly insidious, like when you have a friend whose life is absolutely fucked and you keep seeing it, but your friend's life gets worse and you can't stop it. Then you think now and then on happy, normal, privileged things that happen in your life and you wonder why you have the happy life you have and not them. It's really bad because you have happy bonds of friendship that are tainted by pity and self-loathing. Sometimes, it's hard to even acknowledge the friend's existence because it causes tons of mental stress.
Oh please, stressing about death and its irrationality is something neurotics do. Just push it to the back of your mind and have regular existential episodes of memento mori like normal people do.
Shirou got manipulated like fuck through the entire VN.
Seriously a guy like him is more prone to being used by other people. There's no need to kill someone stupid enough to fall for your provocations. Put their stupidity to good use.
Hence the fate of "Archer"
I just finished Fate route, and I have no desire to go into UBW considering how BORING that was.
It's 2 minutes of good scenes, followed by hours and hours of filler or boring shit. It feels like the Gundam SEED of VNs the same way everything's a recap.
Shiki has serious case of don't give a fuck. Remember Ryougi trying to gouge her eyes when she saw Death for the first time? Shiki immediately started to brake shit up
Nah Shirou contradicts that, and it's the major point in the story. His beliefs about the ideal was just as strong as Kerry's was. His belief in the ideal was not, it was not his born from him and as seen by the striking difference between the two he doesn't actually care if he achieving it. It was all about the path it was the path itself that captured Shirou so much whereas Kerry was obsessed with achieving the ideal.
Archer lamented that his path towards the ideal lead him to do what he didn't want to do in the first place, kill people, whereas Shirou accepts all this and continues because regardless of the end result it was the path he really wanted to follow
Please don't talk shit about mai waifu.
>Hating on Shiki R.
How could anyone do this.
I feel you m8, i felt the same way when i finished that shit a couple of months ago. Push through, UBW is good and HF is the payoff to all the shit you have been through, even if it does make you not like Sakura even tho she looked way pretty cool up to HF.
Do it for Kirei.
