>[HorribleSubs] Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works - 10 [720p].mkv
nothing wrong with being gar for archer
I'll counter with some decent 3DPD cosplay.
I just learned something interesting today,
I was under the impression that the story of King Arthur was a myth, and I was wrong, there's some part of Chrétiens de Troyes's tale that refers to actual historical events.
It's mostly about the battle of Mount Badon where a warlord named Arcturus (probably roman) defeated the Saxons to protect the gallo-romans. He inspired the story of King Arthur.
A story about his past.
You're overestimating him. Shiki is superior to his father -> Shiki has no chance against servants -> Kiri has no chance against servants. Kiri only lasted so long against Kouma due to the blind spot from his destroyed eye. Kiri is not servant level, Caster reinforced Kuzuki is.
Well most of what's known as the story of King Arthur comes from Geoffrey of Monmouth's The History of the Kings of Britain in which he basically made shit up that sounded cool because there were little to no records of anything at the time. But a lot of it is also built off of Celtic myths/legends, and it's more likely it's just based off of real, though vastly embellished, events.
Shiki have superior potential=/=Tsukihime Shiki is stronger that his father. Kiri is a guy who said that Kouma Servant tier speed isn't anything special after you get used to it
Even granting the point, Kuzuki is just as fast as a servant and equally a top tier assassin.
It's a throw of the knife at the heart followed by a leaping neck-snap. It's fast but never shown to be anything that cannot be dealt with.
Yes, like every myths ever. But like Odyssey and Illiad were made popular by Homer (if he ever existed) but not invented, King Arthur stories were made popular by Chrétien de Troyes
The fact that a good chunk of the story was based on historical fact is all I wanted to bring up.
>Servant that can attack at speeds a normal eye can't see
>gets jobbed by a school teacher and his loving hobbyist wife
I just don't even know anymore
He's still a pretty devastating melee combatant, see VS Shirou even after Shirou has figured out his tricks. Shirou can only keep him occupied, never threaten him.
That's just stupid, we have no idea how fast it is. It only ever was used on Shiki himself.
>His body never falls out of fitness, the Nanaya physique is perfect.
Nope. While their bodies are much stronger than normal humans it's not like thay always in top shape. Kiri stats dropped after six years witout training, he talked about it with Sougen. Kiri that fought against Kouma was actually weaker than during his assassin days. And Tsukihime is really weakened with no training and less than a half of his life force
>walking home at night
What do you do?
Hi guys what's going on here
>the year of our lord two thousand and almost fifteen
>not knowing Tomokazu Seki
>not knowing every role he's ever done
>not watching his every show
>being this fucking new
Rin puffs up with confidence.
>"Huh…? You didn't bring Archer, Tohsaka?"
>"No, I left him at home. We're doing a surprise attack today, so we won't need him if we have Saber, right? To be honest, I don't want to let him see Caster."
I dont understand how the second episode can be so much better then the first and third one, its almost the only one that is watchable.
>purpleeyeswtf as berserker
I don't like how they changed Kuzuki's neck strike to simply him running behind Saber.
Okay, just for you >>118291363
I also fixed the translation, it was a bit weird.
体は剣で出来ている /Su cuerpo está hecho de espadas.
「 ―――――I am the bone of my sword. 」
血潮は鉄で心は硝子 /Su sangre es de hierro y su corazón de cristal.
「 ―――Steel is my body and fire is my blood 」
幾たびの戦場を越えて不敗 /Participó en incontables campos de batalla sin ser derrotado.
「 ―――I have created over a thousand blades.
ただの一度も敗走はなく、/Ni una sóla vez huyó,
Unknown to Death.
ただの一度も理解されない /Ni una sóla vez fue comprendido.
Nor known to Life 」
彼の者は常に独り /Él siempre estuvo solo,
「 ―――Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
剣の丘で勝利に酔う /embriagado por la victoria en la colina de espadas.
「 ―――Yet, those hands will never hold anything」
故に、生涯に意味はなく /Por lo tanto, su vida no sentido.
「 ――So as I pray,」
その体は、きっと剣で出来ていた /Ese cuerpo, estaba sin duda hecho de espadas.
「 unlimited blade works 」
ALWAYS BET ON UFOTABLE. MASTERS OF STRANGLING
>Keeping track of VA and their one mirrion Japanese names
Why would someone draw Emiya in the school rooftop?
It's not the literal translation.
"I am the bone of my sword..." Is the original English chant written by Nasu himself. It only was used when Archer active his Reality Marble.
The poem written in Japanese which was spoken by Rin is the definition of the heroic spirit Emiya. It isn't a chant so it should be literally translated.
Rin's hairstyle always bugging me, what's the point of her half-assed twintails anyway? she must learn from her another counterpart.
>switches from "Emiya" to "Shirou"
Rin a cute.
No Neogaf pasta yet? That's weird.
Putting my money on the word asspull being a part of most posts.
Also Kuzuki second best F/SN Master.
You live in a shithole that sends people away for being bad at names?
I mean sure I could learn the names if they actually served some kind of purpose but just learning names for the hell of it isn't really my jam.
Same guy as last thread here
>Participó en incontables campos de batalla sin ser derrotado.
That's kinda cubersome, something like "Conoció muchos campos de batalla, más nunca la derrota" would sound better.
>Ni una sóla vez huyó,
>Ni una sóla vez fue comprendido.
"Jamás lo comprendieron"
>Él siempre estuvo solo
"Permanecio siempre solo"
>embriagado por la victoria en la colina de espadas.
And the other two lines kinda bother me but I don't know how to change them.
Thank you based ufotable
Also stop trying to compare Fate Gil, either of his character or his actions, to Epic's Gilgamesh. Nasu just used the name, he read some shit about the Epic when making CCC so some shit there rings closer to the Epic.
He looked great this episode, but Shirou was a pussy magnet this episode
>Implying every shot isn't masterfully crafted to reflect Shirou's inner monologues since UFO don't jell with that shit.
Why the long face, Kuzuki?
The true power of the snake.
It's kind of strange, beneath the effects the animation is still amazing.
They're not just tasteless coverups for bad animu (for the most part at least, there are a few derp frames in there when the flare is brightest). They just like flashes.
give me an feeling so complicated
>Finally getting the Kuzuki vs Saber fight animated
After Deen fucked up so hard with the movie I had given up hope for it. THank you based Ufotable.
I had forgotten how short the fights were. Completely kills the hype when you wait for a whole week, get a short fart and then wait two weeks for the next fight (because there's always one episode of talking between fights).
No, he should have said it right before they left.
"Master…!? No, Saber is hurt. You should be able to defeat her again!"
"She is not someone who would fall for it twice. It is I who underestimated her.
I should have attacked her one more time."
HOLY SHIT, CHAIKA REFERENCE!
UFOTABLE CONFIRMED FOR BROS
You should do one for this.
She didn't? He's fast and has weird movements so she was taken off-guard. She still tries to defend against him.
Who am I, Bedivere?
You are our king, sire.
And do you trust your king?
Your men, my Lord, will follow you to whatever end.
To whatever end...
>i wish i was back in uruk hugging Enkidu
Works better with pic related
This Enkidu is cuter anyway
Not then, after he says this. He literally walks up, raises his fist, and brings it straight down on her and she lets it happen.
Is Rin aware that Archer is Shiro at this point? The way she said 'so that's how you became a heroic spirit' and the stuff about her acting strange because of what he's shown her seemed to imply it
also in full disclosure, I'm a butthurt Rider fan that particularly likes seeing Kuzuki beat up Saber
She's still trying to block.
She barely moves her sword before he hits her. So much for that intuition.
The only places you'll see secondaries really bitching about the anime are /a/ and one other place that shall not be named for your own sanity. Most other forums are filled with TM fags who are just enjoying the anime, reddit included.
For real, this season is a shit, full of crap. Shirou is a fucking piece of shit, one of the most retarded MC ever ruins the entire Season.
Zero was great, even awesome because MC was a badass.
I think I've come to a conclusion from all the confusion - F/SN is one of those VNs that are much more difficult to adapt to a more linear narrative, because it's much more dependant on its non-linear nature to actually tell its story, despite being barely more interactive than a regular novel. That, and the VN has a ton of content (the English translation trumps the Lord of the Rings trilogy in terms of word count), so even a less time-compressed adaptation would be hard-pressed to do it justice without taking an equivalent amount of time.
Hell, even by dying you can learn information that you wouldn't know otherwise - fun fact, in one of the bad ends in Fate, Saber, upon seeing Kirei, actually wonders how the hell he survived being shot in the heart in the previous grail war, and earlier on, she makes a reference to using Excalibur in the harbour, and Gilgamesh makes a reference to Kiritsugu interrupting his 'wedding ceremony'. Fate/Stay Night has a shocking amount of call-backs to Fate/Zero before F/Z was even a thing, though F/Z does retcon certain minor details here and there.
I honestly wonder how Fate/Stay Night would work as a fully interactive game narrative. It would certainly be a rather unique adaptation, as it would be a transition from one interactive medium to another.
>Tsukihime has the best TM females.
The main theme in Fate/stay night is "conquering oneself." There are three story lines in the visual novel; each has a different theme. The first one, Fate, is the "oneself as an ideal." The second one, Unlimited Blade Works, is "struggling with oneself as an ideal." The third one, Heaven's Feel, is "the friction with real and ideal
Why do so many people watch this cringeworthy chunni shit?
It's pathetic how sellout it is too, leaving the fanservice in the VNs for the PC nerd hyperotaku and just making it he most generic mainstream garbage for the anime.
TEAM CASTER BEST TEAM OTHERS NEED NOT APPLY
Fate/Zero was originally written as light novels by Gen Urobuchi, a fairly well-esteemed writer in the business. Fate/Stay Night was written by Nasu, the main Type-Moon writer who is considered mediocre-at-best with some interesting ideas. And Fate/Stay Night originated as a pornographic visual novel which means it's harem crap with high schoolers and a terrible protagonist. To compound things, the anime version is cheap, ugly, and badly directed. I've heard nothing good about it, and the clips I've seen have confirmed those impressions.
You meant he used to be so fine. Nowadays he's just another victim of ufotable's rhino syndrome.
>yfw Kuzuki would beat Kotomine, Lancer, and Archer on top of having already beat Saber and Rider
Almost a one-man holy grail war. Too bad Herakles is the best servant and Gilgamesh is crashing the party though.
There's nothing weird about liking big, hard swords.
Not him, and I think F/SN is better than Zero, but here's how it would work:
First of all, focus on all the Masters/Servants instead of solely Shirou/Rin. Show the summonings for each Servant, multiple conversations between each Master/Servant, etc. Basically like Zero where we saw each Master/Servant frequently.
Include all scenes we know that happened but weren't shown (Lancer/Bazett fighting Caster, Caster killing her Master, Bazett being attacked by Kirei, etc), and then add more for good measure. Also include stuff like Illya and Berserker fighting all the other Servants.
To really throw things up in the air, have it so Caster doesn't summon Assassin and instead a new Magi does. Or hell, maybe make it so Kirei decides to let Bazett do whatever and he doesn't attack her, so she stays in the war. Anything to add more experienced Magi into the mix.
And there you go, potentially Fate/Zero 2.0. It wouldn't be better than vanilla F/SN, but it still would have been fun to see.
The whole point of her being a massive bitch collecting souls is so that she has enough power to beat Hercules.
I've always wondered how a fight between him and a fully powered Caster would turn out.
Shhh, it's okay.
Yeah I think they kind of failed to present why SOUICHOROOOSAMA can do all that. Yes he's a beast in close quarters, but it should of been more like "What the fuck is going on?" instead of it seeming more like he defeated Saber with just extreme brute force.
Team Caster throwing down with Roa and Nero Chaos.
Actually Caster was seeking to activate the holy grail without fighting, she just needed a defense against Berserker.
She lacks sheer power offensive spells and can only kill him around 3 times, according to Nasu. She's a utility servant, who can win the war without killing anyone, but she needs Saber's power to do so and she's kind of a greedy bitch in any case.
Post was obviously trolling but to be fair they still didn't introduce who the fucking the blond servant is properly. Even the nips are not better considering "blond servant" was trending because most people new to the anime has no clue who that is.
Not yet. The first she said only in reference to Archer, and the latter is because Archer's attitude before he contracted and became a CG reminds her of Shirou's, but she didn't really have much reasons to suspect anything for sure until this episode.
"His body is made out of swords
His blood is of iron and his heart of glass
He survived through countless battles
Not even once retreating
Not even once being understood
He was always alone
Intoxicated with victory in a hill of swords
Thus, his life has no meaning
That body was certainly made out of swords"
Next time you might want to copypaste the right chant Crunchy.
>Actually Caster was seeking to activate the holy grail without fighting
And what would she do once she actually summoned the Grail only to find out that it's contaminated with goop?
I know this is all hypothetical, but at this point talking about the show itself is getting boring.
She's a magus from the age of the gods. She can probably purify the grail by dispelling all six billion curses one by one, if she needs to. Once she has the magical supply, it's simply a matter of applying it in the correct fashion.
It's much more likely that she just births the angry manjew by accident.
Or are you one of those Casterfags who think she could win against Cu by dispelling the curse of Gay Bulge?
Did Crunchy for real just go with the English version of the chant, instead of translating the Japanese one when it was the Japanese one that was being said?
The English chant isn't the "translation" of the Japanese one.
They are two chants for the same thing. Just like how Shirou's chants differs from Archer's.
In short. There are multiple chants. Whatever made them think that they could just slap on the English version rather than translating the Japanese one?
Complaining about the "white man", or how they did not go with the mirror moon translation of "drown in your ideals and die", felt petty.
But this is just dumb.
When I first saw the DEEN anime and saw him project Archer's swords I thought that was just Archer's advice in effect.. At the very end he projects a blanket to catch Illyasviel with for some reason. I just thought it was because he was a mechanic he was good at projection.
That's when I read the VN and realized I was wrong.
Nice episode but WHERE THE FUCK WAS ARCHER? Holy shit it was stupid to attack without archer! Why would they do that?
Considering bad end 20, that seems unlikely. She can see right through the holy grail, she probably knows more about it than Illyasviel, who readily knows about Avenger.
As to the other thing, not likely. She knows of the greek divine language magic, she has bad familiarity with magic of other types. I wouldn't put it past her from having a curse-guard that would defend her from the causality inversion of the thrust form, however, and she has a completely normal barrier that would stop a normal stab from Lancer. She would, however, have no chance against the thrown form.
Yeah, she threw around some pretty suspicious comments there during the date, but by the time the date rolls, she's already had that whole conversation with Shirou about only getting into magic to help people and not having fun so, she has more info to work with than right at this point.
>you'll never power-up to save the woman you love
I wish I were sword.
>When I first saw the DEEN anime and saw him project Archer's swords I thought that was just Archer's advice in effect.. At the very end he projects a blanket to catch Illyasviel with for some reason. I just thought it was because he was a mechanic he was good at projection.
Same here, I also thought Gil was Archer after he regained his memories fighting Berserker.
You don't want to read it, trust me.
The stabbing variation utilized by Cuchulainn is not a conceptual effect, it is a powerful curse that reverses cause and effect. The conceptual effect of "a weapon that always strikes its target" is the true thrown form of Gae Bolga, created by Scathach.
So would Caster kill/control Shirou if she happened to be his Servant? Is there no way they could've worked together peaceful, or is their way of thought too conflicting?
Independent action? Even if his master dies? Well that's fucking stupid. Also Emiya pulling those swords literally out of his ass even though he could only strengthen according to him. He should have traced something like Saber's Excalibur if he was going to do that
Can't really blame the translator for this one. Most people familiar with F/SN don't even know there's a different version of the chant, so people reading a literal translation won't recognize it. I blame Nasu for being a chuni faglord and having 2 different ways of saying the same thing just for the hell of it.
There was no pre-existing Spanish chant, so the Spanish translator only had one option.
Alright, I think I figured it out.
Archer seems to know exactly who Saber is and why she's fighting, based on the fact that last episode he told Shirou that Saber is probably the only Servant who joined the War out of her own will.
He appears to be familiar with the Holy Grail since he dismissed it as a "malevolent treasure chest". Of Arthur's knights, three managed to attain the Grail - Galahad, Bors, and Percival.
He dismisses Shirou's idea of fighting only for others as being hypocrisy. Lancelot criticised Saber for the same thing in Zero.
He also hesitated and reacted visibly when he first fought Saber at the end of episode 0, reinforcing the possibility that he recognized either her or at least some aspect of her.
He has Caladbolg, which is also known as Caledfwlch in Welsh, or otherwise Excalibur.
And finally we see him here on the same hill on a battlefield that Saber was on in the past.
So the possibility is either that Archer is one of the Knights of the Round Table (unlikely because Saber would recognize him like she recognized Lancelot), or that he is actually King Arthur, who attained the Holy Grail, and, like Saber plans to do, wished that he would not become King of Britain and someone else would instead. This changed history so that instead of him, a girl called Artoria became King of Britain, but made the same mistakes, leading to the current timeline in which King Arthur is a girl.
>The stabbing variation utilized by Cuchulainn is not a conceptual effect,
>On the other hand, those with conceptual effects, destiny interference types fall into a special category. With Gae Bolg (regular), no matter how much Arcueid might be superior to Lancer in numbers, she will be killed depending on her luck, you see.
The etymology of "Secondaries" comes from the superior ability of these individuals to delay gratification, and thus receive two marshmallows. This ability highly correlates with success, education, health and weight control. In this context, it refers to their ability to wait for a superior release in a superior medium (anime).
>In these studies, a child was offered a choice between one small reward provided immediately or two small rewards if they waited for a short period: approximately 15 minutes, during which the tester leave the room and then return. (The reward was sometimes a marshmallow, but often a cookie or a pretzel.) In follow-up studies, the researchers found that children who were able to wait longer for the preferred rewards tended to have better life outcomes, as measured by SAT scores, educational attainment, body mass index (BMI), and other life measures.
It is not surprising at all that bitter "primaries" who are often unintelligent, overweight, and unsuccessful at life, would attempt to turn it into a pejorative, following in the model of "normalfag"
>>Surely, that body was made out of swords
>So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
Yeah, that isn't how you are supposed to translate.
Will there be a v2 correcting this?
It doesn't really matter all Shirou has to do is find her near death and she will be a devoted wife much like Sakura. If he tells her to stop she will stop like a good doormat.
But the lines are distinctly different. You should notice that they aren't the same at just a glance.
If this translator was familiar with the more common English spoken chant. His first reaction upon hearing this chant should have been to note how different they are.
It's a destiny interference via the mechanisms of a curse, so of course it can be warded against. She could even use Item Creation to create a charm that raises her luck against destiny alterations, for all that matters.
She'd probably think he's some kind of weirdo for wanting to help everyone he encounters, though I wouldn't put it past her to try something that forces him to use a Command Seal to stop her.
