It's different in the manga and anime. If I remember right in the anime his death isn't confirmed, he just went so fast his body got messed up by the alter so now he lives it out either as an old man in a 20 year old body or in a wheelchair. In the manga he straight up dies I think
If you liked Scryed I recommended Needless.
If I remember correctly, HOLY was experimenting on some of the alters that worked for them before they just started kidnapping alters to work on. I think Cougar was one of the ones they worked on and the experiments shortened his life. In the manga I think watermelon guy just kills him.
That final fight was perfect, I wish it happened more often where they exhaust their supernatural powers and just fight by any means necessary
Kazuma winning that fight was the only bit that ruined it.
They should've just left it at "Both beat the living shit out of eachother and had to go to the hospital to get chastised by their respective waifu." end.
But still... Good series, just underrated so badly.
Best girl dying was the last bit my heart could take. They went all out on not sparing any of the bro's or best girls.
Really!? I need to re-read the manga again. All I recall from the manga was best girls healthy body, and that perv controlling her, who hopefully didn't rape her.
Did Kazuma win? Honestly I'd like to think so. In the anime it shows his fist at the end, but does that mean that he won or simply he was going to continue fighting? Idk, haven't read the manga.
That ED though
>Shōgeki no Faasuto Buretto
Every single time
Thanks for reminding me OP, Alteration Tao and Quan FINALLY have subs after waiting 2-3 years.
Lord of the Flies in space was nice. It has angst and everything
It did the age-old japanese style of just leaving it up to interpretation of the readers for the most part. You could say they killed each other like real men, or you could say they both just hospitalized and then got yelled at by their respective waifus/lolis
I think the manga was more clear though, but I can't remember
God, I need to watch this again. It's been like 7 years but it was one of my favorites.
In the anime at least, he was one of the earliest experiments in enhancing alters. They didn't have the process smoothed out yet and it fucked him up in some way, shortening his lifespan as a result. His body basically gives out in the end, although him dying isn't actually confirmed, just heavily implied.
Kikoushi Enma was terrible.
These two have it. Just like the
midseason water girl biting it, the artificial Alter enhancements cause the body to burn out prematurely. It's something of a wonder that Cougar lasted as long as he did.
Though it appears that the "natural" Alter enhancements are also killing their users. Kazuma's hair is changing, his skin is marked up, eye forced shut when not in Stage 2 or 3, and in agony much of the time. Ryuhou is starting to show Alter damage marks on his skin during the end sequence, too.
They'll probably both be dead by 30 or so, if not sooner. Probably Kazuma first.
It's too bad their stage 3's were retarded.
Also best boy
I liked his development, he became like a pseudo-vagrant Kazuma at the end after he ditched HOLY and just became a wandering man fighting for the people of the land or whatever they were called. Natives I think
The physical effects Ryoho and Kazuma were showing were a result of overusing their alter powers, and since they were enhanced they were using more alter power, and there for during faster.
> Shitting on stage three alters
They were glorious. My only complaint with Kazuma's was that it would have looked a little better with more leg padding. His final design was too top heavy. Ryuho's was decent, but honestly he should have held onto his independent alter style instead of getting armor so he could duke it out like Kazuma.
Xam'd: Lost Memories is a criminally underrated anime.
Yep. He manages to go from being a little bitch to a likeable, level-headed, individual. Making a life for himself and protecting the other Native Alters. Most of the secondaries get a Good End, really.
Those aren't underrated. Please. Just because you're too new to remember their era of hype, doesn't make them unpopular. If anything I'd say Trigun and Ruroni specifically were obnoxiously popular for what they are 10+ years ago.
Seems like it was liked, but just kind of brushed off to the side?
This was beautiful
Also Shame best girl
I still don't know why this isn't /a/'s favorite anime. It has everything /a/ likes.
Top tier character
So basically this thread is for anime that got fucked by Hirai sameface but are actually good
To this day I still can't decide if this was shit or actually a hidden gem
Most of these are really more under appreciated rather than underrated.
