What are /a/'s thoughts on this movie?
A beautiful work of art, or a 2deep4me wanksturbation?
I liked the animation and the story some how kept me the whole way through. at the end I felt something for the characters. So I liked it. It had an "effect" on me.
>>116932104
Nice art, nothing special animation wise, same story as just about everything else shinkai ever made.
Amazing art, decent animation, nice music, and mediocre story.
It's not about the story though.
Great movie. I loved the feet.
>>116932104
>2deep4me
You have to be literally retarded if it's 2deep4you. The rain always makes me thirsty.
>feeling feels

>kanahana playing a nice teacher that has to quit because sluts bully her

>>116932300

the guy threw a hissy fit that she didn't reciprocate his love, and guilt-tripped her into loving him back

missed picture
Children Who Chase Lost Voices > The Garden of Words > The Place Promised in Our Early Days > 5 Centimeters Per Second > Voices of a Distant Star
>>116932104
Great movie. Love it.
>>116932350
Was holding my own through out the whole movie, cried like a bitch on the first second of that scene
Shitty story ruined it for me. Shinkai's movies are so formulaic. Watch one, you've seen them all.
It's better than 5cm and The Place Promised in Our Early Days by far.
>>116932104
I didn't liked the ending, too cheesy
>>116932343
She still dumped him.
>>116932293
>dat slight squeeze on her sole at the beginning
why live?
>glorifying SS
yeah, nah...
>>116932542
More like put it on hold until they both ready.
>>116932542
you can't end a relationship that hasn't started mein freund
>>116932104
Animation was incredible, everything else was average
>>116932619
>Animation was incredible
No it wasn't.
>>116932577
She went to another city.
>>116932657
they stayed in contact
obviously they're going to meet again in the future so he can give her shoesand his dick
>>116932104
His best animation yet. I love watching how he visually improves with every new piece. Can't wait for the next one.
>>116932380
If you're going by story alone, sure. Visually speaking (and hell, storywise also), Lost Voices looked exactly the same as any Ghibli movie - losing the style of art that identifies Makoto Shinkai movies.
>>116932499
>>116932176
>>116932539
>watching Shinkai movies for anything other than elder-god-tier scenery porn
>>116932531
I liked the pseudoscience in Beyond the Clouds. His character art has improved significantly since then.
>>116932634
Stop watching anime on a 12" black and white CRT.
>>116932657
She went back home to find work, and it was strongly implied that she would be waiting to meet him again someday.
>>116932750
He left those shoes in the park. It's over jim.

Autism and faggotry: the post
I think it's fucking great and people who don't like the story because they're faggots who thought they would get together, which defeats the entire purpose of the movie.
Cute Christmas cake. Love her
>>116932776
>Stop watching anime on a 12" black and white CRT.
Learn the difference between fucking animation and art pleb.
how can garden of words be 2deep4 someone? Is there actually someone who watched it and thought "I DIDN'T GET IT"
>>116932816
>>116932293
That animation looks really good.
Will watch this later.
I like MC do something when someone badmouthing about his crush.
>>116932816
Most people don't like the story because it is the same one that is in every fucking other film Shinkai ever made.
>>116932857
Watch it on a 120hz television in 1080p like it was meant to be seen.
>>116932797
"I can't come up with a coherent reply or counter": the post
>>116932983
Yeah pretty much. Most of his works are about unrequited love.
>>116932998
Do you always post like this? Replying to 6 posts at once like you're a celebrity doing an AMA?
>120hz
The movie isn't even 30fps.
>>116932104
Post thepencil scene?
>>116932998
You really need to understand, having detail in the art is not the same as having good animation. The film has great detail in the art, the animation is nothing impressive at all though.
FEET
Great movie. As expected of the master, Makoto Shinkai.
>>116932982
This guy was so fucking Alpha. Christ sake man. Slapping some slut it's actually justified if you're this guy.
>>116932104
>you will never be in a student-teacher romance
;_;
It's a good movie. Still didn't cried like a bitch as with 5 wallpapers per second
>dat rug detail
best animation ever seen / 10
>>116933029
>>116932983
Half of the muh art deep philosophical critically acclaimed movies on this planet are about unrequited love.
>>116933141
I have that movie in my backlog, and all I ever hear is that the MC is /r9k/ tier. How true is this?
>>116933031
>he visits shitddit
Ah, that explains your stupidity.
>>116933058
I didn't claim it was amazing compared to the art, which is just assumed to be spectacular because :Shinaki:
In all seriousness however, the scenes with flowing water (raindrops landing in the pond, falling from leaves, etc) are superbly animated, especially for a Shinakai movie.
>>116933187
>animation
>>116933272
This. Still looks very good.
>>116933197
You should try actually comprehending what you watch if you think this is true
>>116933228
The animation in the film is not 'incredible' the art might be incredible. It's understandable if you confused the two, those without much knowledge of animation often do.
>>116933187
It's detailed, certainly. But the only animation I see in that gif is a blinking light.
>>116933272
yeah dude look it's got flashing lights and everything that's animation hue
>>116933205
It's not like that. He had the whole fucking universe against him. Still he was one depressing fuck.
Just watch the first segment (Spring), fap to the rain animation and the shoe scene, then stop there. Rest of the movie is shitty melodrama with mediocre visuals
Great movie. Perfect length considering the story it was telling. Beautiful throughout. My only problem would honestly be that the people kinda felt a little too...shiny for lack of a better term.
>>116933029
But there wasn't any.
>>116932104
good art, sound track, and story
I also happen to have a feet/shoes thing, so it's got that extra appeal to me.
>>116933534
Well, they loved each others but they couldn't be together. It's almost the same.
>>116933534
>no love
ok dude
>>116933774
Do you know what unrequited means? Dumbfuck.
>>116933774
He still got BTFO
>>116934104
They had sex dude
>>116934104
>unrequited
She seemed pretty into him.
>>116934104
unrequited or not, its still love
Makoto Shinkai refused to make anything with a happy ending and I will never watch anymore of his bullshits!
