Shortly after, I found out about the anime. Learned that it had nothing to do with the games, but gave it a shot anyway and I loved it.
After all that, I came across the flash game while searching for the actual game.

I'm actually enjoying the new designs for the moon angel wing, and for most of the rune angels, except Natsume still doesn't look like Natsume to me, and also Nano doesn't look quite the same age anymore.

That being said, of course I did Nano's route last. Broccoli loves giving the "genki loli" the most emotional routes for all three games. She's my least favorite but shit, I really felt something wonderful seeing her route in EK

I'll admit I barely remember any of the routes for MK or EK. Haven't played through any of them for a while now and whenever I play, I usually go straight to mania score attack.

I even forgot I still needed to go through all the routes again in EK for the cgs since at some point I forgot to backup my memory card while updating pcsx2.

There will never be the same amount of hype as when first seeing the original crew back in action, or when shit goes down in the final few chapters.

Oh of course, nothing beats playing it the first time through. I felt the story dragged a bit for the character development chapters but more details stuck and I enjoyed it my second full playthrough a bit more.

But seeing Chapters 8-11 was probably one of the most hypest things I've ever experienced. I can barely think of other trilogies that pulled some shit like that.

Anyway, it would initially take place in a universe that exists outside of ABSOLUTE (I don't know what the proper term to use here would be).
This universe would actually be our universe, which we'll conveniently name GAIA to follow the four letter naming scheme for GA universes.

Standard undisclosed period of time in the future, but space tech still hasn't advanced as that far.
That's when a probe comes across advanced technology floating in space that contains the secrets to Chrono String technology.
Within years after reverse engineering this technology, mankind begins to colonize the galaxy and beyond.

That would be the backstory of the setting at least. If the rest sounds like it'd be a whole lot of shit you'd rather not waste time reading, I'll stop here.

Earth's governments unite to form a central government called the GAIA Sphere. Protagonist enlists in the new naval academy for space.
Years later, his crew discovers a Chrono Gate on the edge of the known universe.
After studying it, they learn that it connects to an entirely different universe (plot point later that it doesn't connect to ABSOLUTE).

The GAIA Sphere decides to send an expeditionary force into the new universe. This is where the story would actually begin.

The expedition force spends days fighting off the automated fleet while trying to find if there's any sentient life in the new universe.
After some time fighting off nothing but the automated fleet, an approaching force opens up communications. They identify themselves as EDEN. What a twist!

To the best of EDEN's knowledge, the forces from GAIA are mysterious invaders.
The expedition force from GAIA beats back EDEN's scouting force, but then they receive orders from back home to keep the Chrono Gate's location a secret from EDEN.

This culminates in a battle where Tact appears and leads the Luxiole and Rune Angels against the new angels from GAIA. And the forces from GAIA are getting wrecked until sudden reinforcements show up, forcing EDEN to temporarily retreat.

Protagonist is ordered to retreat back through the Chrono Gate to receive upgrades and whatnot. He expresses concerns that their mission suddenly changed from recon to full-on invasion. Returns just in time for the big showdown between the EDEN and GAIA forces.

Luxiole is nowhere to be found during this battle. After thinning out some of EDEN's forces, it's reported to have slipped past the battle lines and making a beeline to discover where the GAIA forces are coming from.
Cue chase battle, but they still get beat by the Rune Angel team.
They break off in a different direction. Luxiole gives chase. One last battle where the new team manages to come out on top.

Tact surrenders, but before anything else happens, a huge death ray rips the space between the two warships.
The death ray is coming from a huge weapon that's pumping out ships for the automated fleet.
The ships this time are sporting designs from GAIA's fleet, making Tact and the protagonist realize that some other force has been pitting them against each other the whole time.

Final battle, new team and Rune Angels team up to defeat the weapon.
The rest of GAIA's fleet arrives to witness the carnage, which just happens to involve "their" ships.
The new team are branded traitors, forcing them to make a sudden retreat with the Luxiole.
And that would be it for the first game.

So yeah, suddenly an intergalactic conspiracy.
