What does a society do that has solved current problems? What do its citizens do? What are their goals?

I guess we could assume that people are nearly immortal that point. So I guess each episode could jump forwards by dozens or even hundreds of years while still following the same characters. Any goals would be extremely long-term goals.
Like shoveling away a comet that's going to collide with their asteroid complex in 300 years. Not really critical, but someone has to do it eventually.

And even though they have all this fantastic technology mega-projects still take time. So sudden, unexpected changes are still a problem if they require massive responses.

As for inspiration, I would say I can piece it together from reading various speculative essays of futurists and scifi writers e.g. things on post-scarcity by charles stross, friendly AI, big data, failure modes of democracy etc.
Ian Banks' Culture series and the To The Stars madoka fanfic also come to mind, although I'm not very fond of how humans work in The Culture, they're to a quite some extent a hedonistic, self-absorbed pile of petty humans given lots of shiny high tech toys. I guess it's supposed to make them relateable, but I don't really like them as characters. The AIs playing long-term chessmaster games on the other hand are fun to read.

There are so many things wrong with it.

First of all "money based economy" vs. "resource based economy" seems like a red herring. It doesn't make sense as a distinction. Money is ultimately only a token for value assigned to things. It essentially serves the purpose of decentralized resource allocation since centrally managing them is more or less unfeasible.

And "there is not enough money for..." is not an issue either. First of all, money as a fiat currency can just be printed en masse. So the amount of money is irrelevant. It's willingness of those who own the money (and thus by proxy the resources and labor it represents) not seeing it as a good investment (efficient allocation).
In other words people in charge think there are more important things to do with everyone's labor and available resources.


And quite devoid of content, it's like a fuzzy mission statement but ends with saying things like "The Venus Project Concludes that ..." without allowing the reader to follow the conclusion in any way. It makes my snakeoil detectors ring like Big Ben on the full hour.

As for the design: It looks cheesy. The CG graphics, the way it's formatted.
