Lost Hope Edition.
So /a/, How does it feel knowing season 3 was postponed for some shitty Nagato-centric spinoff romance crap?
I still have hope for an s3.
I mean why the fuck would they bother with this pachinko shit, and a shitty spin off...
First for our girl Haruhi
I haven't given up, I'm just sad we have to wait through this spinoff garbage. At least we'll get some more animated Haruhi, right?
Yeah actually that is why I'm looking foward to the spinoff in a way. To see some of my favorite characters animated again
>mfw 2 cour season 3 for 2015-2016
>movie 1 for LN 9 2017
>movie 2 for LN 10-11 2018
It's been too long since I've seen that smile animated. I may go back and rewatch the original series...
Why is she so perfect, anon?
I wish Noizi Itou was doing the art direction for the spinoff series.
I'm really not looking forward to yuki-chan, but at least it's something.
Haruhi is best girl, i love her so much
I want to cuddle her and give her all my love.
I finished watching the series today and I watched Disappearance a few hours ago. As much as the hype around S1 and S2 is exaggerated but understandable (for the former rather than the latter), the movie was just brilliant and is making me crave for some Haruhi stuff.
Newfag but better late than never, I guess.
When I watched the disappearance for the first time I watched it on the 25th of december, right after coming home from celebrating with my family and watching it's a wonderful life.
I then decided to watch the disappearance straight after, and boy that was a good decision.
I recommend everyone to do this.
OP1 > don't really care about the rest
I know one guy who watches anime, but he's a fucking pleb with a shit power level, and a filthy fujoshi who sometimes watches anime.
Whenever the conversation topic switches to anime, I can't stand them at all anymore.
What have you done to me /a/.
Nah, not really.
I'd love it if some weird girl would call me up and order me to be at the park in 1 hour because we're going alien hunting.
I'd probably think it'd be a weird innuendo for sex at first, but then I show up and see that we're actually going to look for aliens, and I'll be even more excited than I was for the sex.
I like you too anon.
Have my most irresistible picture.
Get outta here
>tfw all hope is lost
>see als kun willing to die for S3
>even if he is afucking liar
I STILL HAD HOPE
I'm only joshin' anon, I'm sorry for your loss ;_;
In season 2 she went too far a few times.
I didn't much care for all the Mikuru dressup, but I liked how Kyon was actually serious about it and strongly disapproved of it.
But yeah, she liked it anyway.
More like he didn't want to admit he liked his weird life.
I worked with one guy who did, but he seemed to only watch SAO and SnK, he was also a self professed redditor, plays LoL heavily every day, and has a fursona. I also saw him wearing an MLP bag one day.
This is why I don't reveal my power level.
>even think about reading subs anymore
Ah but see, I've been there. We all go there.
>Subtitles are no big deal, I'm not missing anything
Till you one day realize you're missing EVERYTHING by reading the subs. It's enough to make me want to learn JP
I'm a fast reader.
And of course shit gets lost in translation, but it happens way more in dubs.
Since they need the sentence duration to match, they often have to twist the meaning of the sentences way more than subs ever do.
Dubs are translations too. It gets lost either way, but you get more with subs becsuse you have the original voice inflections and other subtleties. Anyone with a decent power level can understand enough japanese to notice when translations are off mark as well.
Are you one of those millenials with abysmal reading level?
When you hear 4 Nagatos all explaining the 15,5XX times the day has repeated, it's like an eargasm.
What's a good whole-screen recording program? Or is there a way I can splice all 4 together with a program?
And how often does that happen?
That's right, not often if you download good subs.
And you can just pause it.
However, dubs carry a very consistent problem with them, than you can not easily get around, and far more problems as well.
Go ahead and keep your eyes glued to the bottom of the screen, never enjoying the animation going on above. Even with a godly reading rate, they will still be glued to the bottom >50% of the time, I don't care who the fuck you think you are.
That's never happened to me. And even then if I glimpse it for at least a full second I'll have read it and understood what the character is saying.
This isn't even a discussion. This was settled a long time ago. Subs are superior in 90% of situations and not hard to read if you aren't stupid.
You aren't reading it like a book.
It's like reading a billboard while driving on the highway, you don't really look at it, nor do you actively read it, but you saw what it said, and know perfectly well what it said, while still looking at the road.
Maybe this also depends on the country you were raised in.
I live in the Netherlands, and here almost nothing except children's cartoons are dubbed, so I learned to lightning read from a pretty young age.
I have a shitty american education and I can read subs while watching the screen without any effort. It's not even something that occurs to me that people would have trouble with it. I just naturally absorb the text and the image at the same time without thinking.
No one said anything about having difficulty reading the subs at all. There is no difficulty in reading. You are both not getting the point. This is because your intellect is inferior to my own.
Ceasing communication with inferior life forms.
Wouldn't you be sentenced to life in prison for hitting a woman in Japan?
Koizumi was probably prepared to fight him. He takes his job very seriously.
The anime is overrated but it has a special place in my heart. It was the first social-phenomenon anime that I saw live as it aired. I mean, I'd seen eva, azumanga, GGG, etc... but those had already aired. Technically I saw CCS while it aired originally, but I wasn't really feverishly into anime at that point, and had no idea bout online communities.
I've been putting off marathoning the light novels in hopes of the anime finishing everything off nicely, but S3 is just taking fucking forever if at all.
Tsuruya's tan lines, every freaking time.
I recorded this, and am uploading to youtube now. Just the Nagato speech, and from the dub, because if you watch it subbed it's not funny. And Nagato's voice in the dub is obviously superior.
Hey guys check this out
I have a friend exactly like this
>Redditor and proud
>plays vidya, doesn't understand why I don't play vidya, nor can he accept it
>Claims his favorite anime is a tie between SAO and SnK
The one where Mikuru let out a "neeugh"
Endless Eight kind of bothered me.
The very first time they go through the day, Mikuru doesn't notice anything is odd with the inability to time travel. Also, on the very last loop, her ability to time travel should have been restored, so she'd not have noticed anything out of the ordinary and they'd never have discovered the time loop. So using Mikuru's inability to travel to the future was a bad plot point.
Furthermore, after finding out you're stuck in a time loop, you'd do stuff differently. Sure, after a few dozen loops, you may think "Whatever, I'll just assume it might sort itself out through random variation" but after a thousand loops, you're going to start doing random shit to break out of the loops. After a few thousand more, you're going to realize "Hey, I bet I did random shit in past loops, and it didn't work" so you're going to do even RANDOMER shit.
Then there's the whole Nagato cannot interfere. As a machine, she can appreciate that if things keep going exactly the same, the amount of data decreases, to the point where after a few thousand iterations, nothing new is happening at all. This approaches a zero entropy situation with infinite compression, Even she would feel compelled to break the loop or throw major variation into each cycle at that point.
>Also, on the very last loop, her ability to time travel should have been restored
Haruhi's subconscious desire for a never ending summer wasn't resolved until Kyon does his homework. The night that she tells them what's up, that hadn't happened yet, the future still hadn't been created yet.
He wrote two short stories. One directly related to the main series and another set in disappearance. And it seems that he released an older work with a bit of new material in another publishing company.
>we're in 2009+5
>there wouldn't be anymore of that repetitive bullshit anyways
>pointing out the fucking obvious to prove a non-existent point
/a/nons are still dumb as fuck after all these years. for shame.
Here's one thing: The anime utilized cliché in a very unique way that differentiates itself from many if not most anime out there as of right now. Doing this displayed a different perspective and portrayed a potential in a renewed if not totally new style of anime.
It was just different done right. Slice of life centered around a high school student, with his pals, an alien, time traveller, an esper and god. Examples of different done horribly wrong
>Kill la kill

They lost their memories every loop. All that was left was a passing sense of deja vu, that never really changed.

She can't interfere. That's all there is too it. She won't go against her programming as there's no order to. She never said it was about data collection either, it was about not interfering because she is completely outside of Haruhi's causality, which would be like cheating.
Disappearance Haruhi looks thicker and healthier than the regular version. Don't know if it's intentional but I like it
It's an adaptation of a spinoff manga series, unrelated to the main story
It's kinda cute how Haruhi pulls Kyon to her side when she was visited by the music club. She feels insecure without her husbando
Well, like Kyon said, she's not used to being praised. Shy Haruhi a qt
