One theory is that the title of the sequel's first chapter will be [_X], and then you get the full title as [研X].

Why do people say the manga is better than the anime?

I read up to Ch.60 (where the anime ended), and aside from the censorship, the anime was much better, especially the torture scene and his transformation in his head. Much more dramatic and impactful. Kaneki's VA wasn't half bad.

Am I the only person who thinks that Rize could be the next MC. Kaneki couldn't do it but the original could.

If there's one thing the Anime pulled off great it was the voice acting in general. Also, Episode 1 was great as fuck too. I kinda like the Amon/Kaneki fight in the anime as well.

Something felt off with the Gourmet episodes though, like it made Ken look like a dumbass for just charging in there alone, along with the other missed details like his training with Touka and Yomo and shit like that.

They also only had his internal monologue thing in the very last episode too.

Yes, you are right about the voice acting and I did quite like the first episode as well. It pulled off some things really well but it skipped a lot of scenes and details. In overall, it wasn't a bad adaption by no means but it just felt rushed, although you'd only know that having read the manga.

One of the big things which the anime lacked was detailing character growth for Kaneki. During the manga, you saw much earlier his attempts to change to not "stand by and do nothing".

One example which stands out is the Ghoul Restaurant arc. In the manga, Kaneki didn't walk blindly into an obviously bad situation. He went in order to get information for Itori in exchange for information about Rize.

Furthermore, he didn't run away from Toro-chan, but fought back and even broke his arm utilizing his training with Touka (which was essentially ignored in the anime) and the knowledge acquired from reading his books.

There are plenty more examples and not just ones which apply to Kaneki. It's not shit, but the adaptation made many changes which people feel are for the worse.

I don't think we can conclude that. All we know about the Commissioner's power level was that we was stronger that SS or SSS class ghouls, right? Arima is also stronger than SSS class ghouls. Also we have to remember that the SS and SSS rankings are relatively new, created because of the owl. We so far haven't seen any SSS besides Eto and Yoshimura. We also know that the commissioner has some sense for power levels, because he scouted Arima and Suzy into the force. Whether this is some extraordinary sense like a ghoul's sense of smell, or just the natural intuition of a very powerful human, we don't know yet.

Maybe to the first part. It's all an open question, we don't have enough info to conclude. If Kaneki went upstairs Arima would've been up there much sooner. If Kaneki got lucky and escaped, it would've meant the probable demise of Eto and the manager. There was no reason for Kaneki to think Arima was there, Hide's words were the only warning that he wasn't escaping completely free. Once he saw Arima it was too late.

If they don't have a place like Anteiku, they have to risk corpses or cannibalism, or just accept killing people. Otherwise they probably go blood frenzy until they've eaten, like Kaneki in the beginning.
