Why are they going to Australia?
Fun with Engrish!
And a dog
This dog is rubbing up on Rin's pants. Rin must have known this dog when he swam in Australia. If Rin interacts with an old Australian friend, will he do so in Japanese or English?
What kind of flowers are these and what do they mean?
>the fucking bird became a plane
How many good episodes we had this season? 5-6?
2-3-4-8-9-10 and can't remember more.
Yeah this season is pretty bad and the characters are worse than usual with the exception of Rin, Rei, Nagisa and Nitori. Momo was a great addition.
Haruka a shit, we got that. But still, look at how his clothes are lying there. The usually super neat Haruka just ran back home, messily undressed and crawled under his sheet. Obviously he didn't take a bath before going to bed, or his clothes wouldn't be here.
Do you guys think he cried himself to sleep? I bet he did. I hate him for what he did but I feel bad for him. Whether it's because he's sad Makoto is leaving, or because he regrets what he said and did, he must be feeling really shitty.
>mfw this will be the last time Yokotani is the writer for a show with drama in it
>From the moment I met you, the world just opened up before me. This wide, wide world that spreads out forever…I’m sure you could see it too, if you’d just lift your head and look. Haru.
I felt bad for him, too. Makoto leaving to Tokyo must have hit him pretty hard.
Episode 5 was cool. I mean, people dislike it because of the drama and shit, but just try and compare it to Sousuke and Haruka's drama and see how light-hearted it was. It was just a teenager dealing with his problems like a teenager would. Without making all his friends feel like shit or ruining his own future.
Still here, still frustrated watching him, but the payoff of genuinely happy Haru in the end will be worth suffering through his bitchfits.
plus he looks hot when he's mad or sad
Isn't this an Australian station?
They better show some koalas.
Seconding this and requesting "COCK" on Rin's hat in pic related.
>mfw an Australian watches Haru's swimming and says Crikey
>mfw an Australian calls Rin a Sheila
General consesus of shippers? this episode was a turning point on how retarded the drama is, almost retarded as Rin's drama. At least S1 didn't make Iwatobi completely retarded looking 80% of the time, the comedy was better, the focus was a bit more balanced.
Not a Harufag, but I was expecting this, so I'm not bothered too much.
The fireworks scene threw me a bit off-guard though because seeing Makoto like that hurt a bit.
No, I still like Haru. Well I like all the Frees, though. It's frustrating to watch him be like this, but I know he'll get healed in the end.
Weren't Makoto's lucky directions north and east? Interesting.
Looks at the bridge in the background - it's Sidney bridge.
I'm laughing at the drama and plot.
I'm surprised people are mad at him when we knew KyoAni still sucks at drama and was going to prolong Haru's indecision to the last episodes.
I expected retarded behaviors for drama and can't dislike Haru because of that.
And drown like Holt never to be seen again.
>I'm not a Harufag (though I do like him) but I'm actually finding him more interesting as a character this season.
Same. We finally got to know more about him, his inner thoughts and fears.
Plus the whole going pro question is making me really curious.
>struggles to bench 10kg
>is the best breast stroke swimmer at Samezuka
>do something about that autist, I can't deal with his shit anymore.
Thanks to you too.
Is Australia really that horrible?
Do you guys remember how S1 ended?
Rin asked Haru what he wanted to do, and Haruka didn't answer but he looked at the sky with a smile on his face, leaving the end open but promising the viewers and himself a bright and beautiful future.
Now he screams and cries and whines and made literally all the people around him sad.
This isn't even the same character anymore. It's like he doesn't give a single fuck about anyone. I mean, what does "I want things to stay the same" even mean? He's going to graduate whatever happens, why is he denying it?
Can't we just go back to two months ago when everything was just fine?
My body is ready for Miyano's flawless foreign tongue.
That would be a terrible game
>Tell him kindly not to cook you Saba
>You were not kind enough and you pissed him off
>You are also eating saba for dinner
>You are going to die from mercury poisoning
Who will Haru get raped by?
I mean, he's going to Australia so he's going to get raped, but by who? Aussies? Rin? That dog?
What an episode, huh? Thank goodness Rin is going to make everything better.
>He's going to graduate whatever happens, why is he denying it?
He's running away from everything because he's scared of graduation, seperation and his future. What' so hard to understand?
I hope they swim here. It's heated so you can swim all year.
The pressure piled up until Haru cracked.
Well this is ironic.
What about him here?
They're going to shoot some Abbos to help with Haru's angst.
This physically hurt. What happened to nakama and friendship, KyoAnus?
I can't wait
>mfw I get to hear Miyano say my name
I missed some big ones, ja. Thank you for pointing it out.
Angry Makoto actually happened
Without a doubt. I'm so glad I knew that Makoto and Haru's relationship was doomed before the season started, it's going to make Rin winning the Harubowl a lot easier to accept. I just hope the ones who cling to it until the very end don't jump off a cliff when it happens.
Yes, because Makoto is
No fuck you, Makoto is pure and only
>I felt so fucking bad for Makoto
Haru did too.
>Haru we're all just worried about you and want the best for you
>FUCK OFF I DON'T CARE
Look at this bitch-ass weakling.
Haru is behaving like a normal teenager for once. Iwatobis say they want to help but they could offer him alternatives to going pro or let his parents discuss with him when they arrive
>But “lots of drama!” is what what we needed after all.
Graduation drama would be the only truly necessary drama (without Haru going 110% retard) and not misplaced at all.
Here's a tip: no one likes "normal teenagers", especially not when they're acting like complete brats. Every other character on this show is currently acting more mature than Haru, and Haru is supposed to be the oldest one.
>Haru is supposed to be the oldest one.
Fuck, you're right.
I'm not saying behaving like a brat is a good thing. Being the oldest doesn't mean he can't have problems, and Haru is someone who has been pained most of his childhood and adolescence because he unintentionally hurt 4 people with his swimming skills and blamed himself for it, his parents give 2 shits about him and his grandmother is dead
You're a complete moron if you think teenage angst is the only way to inject drama in the show. I have no issue with drama itself, most of my favorite shows tend to have drama, but this particular brand of drama is utter shit because it relies on a character acting like a retard and being a dick to his friends because growing up is just so hard.
>putting Free! in the same sentence as Ping Pong
I like Free! as well, but holy shit.
Anime is a visual medium. I don't think it's worth it if the story and the characters are the best things since sliced bread when it looks like utter ass just for the sake of being different. Yuasa should stop with that shit.
I'm Harufag and i love him even more after this
Ping Pong has an autist main character whose parents don't care about him and has too much talent like Haru.
He becomes a ping pong teacher for kids and has a peaceful normal life while his best friend goes pro
Why does Sousuke have the best dress sense?
Baller as fuck.
That's no excuse to yell at your best friend, accuse him of meddling in other people's business, throw it in his face how he hasn't decided about his future and nearly bring him to tears with your bitching when all he's doing is trying to fucking help.
It feels like they're forcing too many conflicts between too many people into not enough episodes and still trying to (kind of) make it about swimming. Like the Sousuke issue took up a lot of time, and Haru's graduation plan anxiety feels rushed, and Nagisa and Rei each had their own episode with their own issues, and they're trying to make nationals too and it just feels like a lot at once.
Haru felt betrayed that even Makoto, his closest best friend, "pushes his own wishes" onto Haru like the others.
He obviously overreacted, but it makes sense when you consider his current mental condition. Haru still a cunt.
I've loved ES on the whole, I mean hell Kyoani even managed to make Nitori likeable this season but the whole Haru and this Free bullshit really annoys me.
Just give them a happy relay end again, Also Rin needing Haru to swim to bring out his potential is a load of baloney.
I thought it was poorly worded so I aborted and re-worded it, though it looks like the original went through anyway. And since you love questions, why is everyone in this thread so sour now? Just because Haru is being a dick doesn't excuse the rest of you.
When you argue with someone you sometimes say things you didn't mean because you are too angry. Haru was always uncomfortable with people trying to tell him what to do and Makoto "betraying" him was the last straw
Again, you don't seem to understand Haru's feelings over the matter. The pressure has been building up inside him since regionals and this was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back. No one can stay calm and in control after getting heckled so much from everyone.
Makoto wasn't doing that, though. Makoto just said he wanted Haru to find a dream because he and everyone else can tell that Haru is unhappy and running away from his problems. Haru got on defense immediately and shut him down when all Makoto wanted to do was talk.
>literally telling him to go pro
>Rin gets Haru on the plane
>"So, Haru, about your future..."
>Haru's rage punches a hole in the plane's fuselage and they all die
Literally no excuse. Makoto told him that they all want what's best for him and that he would be happy if Haru was happy with the way things are currently, but he's not. He can recognize that Haru is not okay and he tries to help him the best way he can, but all Haru does is scream at him and throw accusations. Makoto doesn't deserve this shit.
Sorry to throw in another one, but here you go.
Sousuke shoulder drama wouldn't last that long, actual graduation drama that isn't moved by characters acting like dicks or complete faggots, more Samezuka vs Iwatobi fun times, more interaction between Rin and the Iwatobis, focus on those who are not graduating (without 100% relation to Haru) etc
Makoto wasn't even pressuring him to go pro he just wanted him to decide what he's going to do, whatever it is.
If nobody pushed Haru at all then he really would become NEET. I understand he's feeling cornered with everyone telling him what to do, but his friends only do it out of care.
Saying he wants what's best for him without offering any actual solution doesn't help, you know. Telling Haru he has the power to find his dream when Haru himself still doesn't know how to do this in the first place, when from his perspective he can't, is just going to make him feel like shit.
It's the way Makoto was going at it for Haru that made the latter blow his lid. Keep in mind Haru was also under the assumption that Makoto didn't know what he was going to do after graduation, but well you know what happened.
>focus on those who are not graduating (without 100% relation to Haru) etc
Fucking Christ, this. I'm so fucking mad. Every time Nagisa and Rei spoke it was just about Haru. They brought up Nagisa studying, and then dropped it to talk about Haru. They brought up next year, and then dropped it to talk about Haru.
They were even less relevant than fucking Chigusa this episode, because at least she got to have a conversation that was about her own struggles and issues and not about the god damn harem MC.
I like Haru but fuck this, he and Sousuke made basically every other character irrelevant this season, and Nagisa and Rei got the worst of it.
But Makoto's advice is too subjective to help someone as lost as Haru, and saying he will find what he wants to do without providing anything else is annoying for someone who has been pressured to find a career by everyone. What Rin is doing on the other hand will help him better than what the Iwatobis did because he is going to take him out of his normal environment and show him how pros work.
I'm glad Makoto finally manned up and told Haru about his plans. It's the first step into the rigt direction of becoming the strong independent person he always wanted to be.
It's dead and Rin has won. I hope Makoto's going to the same university as Kisumi, that would soften the pain.
So what? That doesn't give Haru the right to throw a bitchfit and spew all that vitriol at Makoto. Makoto is endlessly supportive of Haru and believes that he will find his dream sooner or later, and Haru repays him by screaming in his face. He's a selfish faggot.
Holy shit, way to paint Haru as this irredeemable monster because of that one incident and disregard every other scene of the two being good friends with each other.
Classic /a/utist cherrypicking.
People like Haru who don't speak a lot tend to internalize their problems until they reach their limit and take everything out. Makoto was the last straw for Haru's patience even if Makoto did nothing.
But I don't think nothing will change what you think because you just hate Haru
Rin is his friend too, and he's the only one who has the means to show him what being a pro is actually like. That'll make it easier for Haru to make a decision one way or another.
Kyoani's fault writing comes down the fact they don't know how to develop and expose characters without fucking part of the cast. And to complete the mess they introduced more characters and fap to excessive drama.
S1 the focus was completely on Rin, Haruka and Rei had a huge role as well. Yes, Makoto and Nagisa weren't completely involved in the main thing, but since it had less characters to deal with everybody had a decent screentime in the end.
This season has more characters, more excessive drama with TWO of them and a lot of "plot" points. They simply don't know how to connect the graduation issue, Haru's NEET dreams and Sousuke drama to make one decent narrative. To pay the price they shafted Rei and Nagisa more than how Makoto and Nagisa were shafted in S1.
More like they needed to write a decent way where both Rei and Nagisa were involved. They are Haru's friends as well, and not to mention they'll be completely by their own in a couple of months and the show barelty touches that.
True. Not that it makes Haru right or anything, but it makes sense for someone with his personality type. I hope he can apologize to Makoto later after he has his life changing journey with Rin.
Makoto is always overlooked as well. No one other than Rin even asked him what he's going to do after graduation. Whenever Nagisa and Rei spoke about the third years graduating, they immediately jumped into speeches about Haru being "free."
They're trying to write it but it's not working since the plot seems to revolve around Rin and Haru. I'm not even sure if Rei and Nagisa are still aware of what happened between Rin and Sousuke.
Even among all the drama, this moment made feel all warm and fuzzy in my chest.
Thank you based KyoAni. I'm such a sucker for friendship.
>Season 2 is so much better guys, at least it doesn't have so much retarded drama or someone as Rin being a cunt TYBKA
Slowpoke here. Waiting for the episode to finish downloading. Am I going to cry like a bitch like I did last episode?
Freedom to have an opinion, yeah. I said that I think he acted like a cunt and you countered with "lol whatever it happens all the time in real life" as if that's supposed to be a compelling counterargument.
>The way he says "love", lowers his gaze, and says it again but with "care"
It felt like he accidentally confessed his love and tried to correct it. I wonder if they did it on purpose.
Just want to point out something
Haru didn’t really give a fuck when Sousuke said Haru was important to Rin
Haru’s whole world crashed when he realized Makoto wouldn’t be with him anymore.
Want to argue which ship is canon? Bring it on.
>The drama is about post-graduation plans, and they aren't graduating yet.
Have you seen K-ON? Because there's a great example of a graduation plot that doesn't completely shaft the second years.
>Want to argue which ship is canon?
>Want to argue which ship is canon?
Poor bait, but just in case it's serious: none of the ships are canon. None of the ships will EVER be canon. KyoAni will keep pandering to every side until the end of the show and continue pandering to every side in the side material, because that brings them the most profit.
>Want to argue which ship is canon?
>people thought Rin's "bold move" would be letting Haru swim the 100m free instead of him
>he's actually dragging Haru to Australia
Poor Makoto, he was at such a loss on what to do with Haru that he shoved it all on Rin.
>liking the second worst girl
You poor faggot.
Makoto probably told him about his plans to go to Tokyo.
Maybe Rin will attend a college in Tokyo too. And Haru too. And Sousuke too. And Nagisa and Rei could visit them,
I don't want them to seperate.
>Want to argue which ship is canon?
Now back to tumblr with you.
Rin pretty much can go to any school he wants, it wouldn't be odd for them to be able to all go to the same school together. That would be pretty sad though, all this drama and they just wind up on the same swim team in college.
>Haru’s whole world crashed when he realized Makoto wouldn’t be with him anymore.
Shipping aside, that part was fucking heartbreaking. I hope they get their shit together in the last episode.
