Chapter 52: Silence
>Nishimiya: (crying and choking)
>(Ishida) "You forgot this"
>(Notebook) I would like to be friends with everyone through this notebook
>6-2 Nishimiya Shouko
(Chinese is wrong here, should be "Nihimiyya.....!" instead)
>As if to answer Shoukos tears, Ishida woke up. Next chapter "Miracle on the bridge"
It won't be soon, but it will happen.
>GOD DAMMIT. What was the point of this god damn chapter?
Shouko for the last few chapters has had to repent for her earlier choice that hurt someone and tried to quit in life after seeing the repercussions, by trying to get the friends together by herself. She's reached a breaking point however, so now both protagonists after having developed must come together, and bring this theater to a close together now that they are almost complete as people.
Next chapter they meet on the bridge. It's a bit strange if she has to rely on him here given his present condition and how he shouldn't be leaving, but this chapter only hammered it in that they need to come together here and combine their efforts. It's not over until they reach the answer, but not one of them alone could reach it. Now that they have both tasted a certain something they might be able to see eye to eye.
The more I read, the more I'm convinced there will be kissu. Shouko is literally having a breakdown thinking she might lose Ishida.
>And what is he even going to do when he finds her?
> Thinking there will be kissu
> Forgetting Ishida will be the exact same social retard around Nishiyama that he always has been
"Dang yuu foh saveeng mi lifu"
"O-oh it's cool, d-don't mention it"
"I veel lahk I muzt repai yuu"
"N-no really, i-it's fine!"
"Can I keez yuu?"
"G-give me? Give me what?"
>implying this time Shouko won't break through her own shell and literally rape him right there on his hospital bed not giving a shit about his saying in it
>"Ichida u fackig faggo shuddub aind fill muh wummb"
>not the lewdest
>Ishida waking up
>somehow he feels he need to go to the bridge
>he meet Shouko and speak to her
>totally forgets she's deaf
>try to touch her arm
>Shouya starting to glow
>last page of the chapter showing Ishida body still laying in the hospital bed
Absolutely. Look at what you've done to my dick. Now it's your responsibility to make things right. It can't be helped.
Fuck you anon for even thinking like that.
Just woke up, I don't want to bother with the redrawing on this page sorry.
>stick tongue out
>positive preggo test in hand
What the fuck happened to her, I thought the crying was over and done with?
She's at the edge. Waking up and just going to the bridge thinking he'd be there just because it's tuesday? She's delusional.
After he dies they'll have to get her to an asylum.
>camera pans down to follow Shouko
This one took quite some work.
It was still fun though.
So I've known about this series for a while and I decided to finally read it after lurking a little in the last couple of threads.
I just got done with the first volume and, well. This is gonna end up painful, isn't it?
>miracle on the bridge
>Ishida thinks that it's tuesday and that he has to go feed the fish and meet with Shouko
>Ishida embraces her
It's supposed to be the climax before the REUNION.
It will be easier to appreciate when the tank will be published.
Keep in mind that Ooima had already her whole story ready and set when she started making this.
It was Ooima's actually clever ruse to make us worry and think he was going to be kill, while she actually had no intention of putting him in a situation of life and deat or even just in somewhat dangerous conditions.
But it's strange. One fish goes in one direction, then we have this frame with two fishes, then the one with opened mouth keeps going while the first one is nowhere to be seen.
Only some breeds and only in some cases, and not as big as to dwarf another Koi. I don't think they'd leave a 200+ years Koi in that gay pond instead than putting it in an aquarium.
You silly anon. You forget that Ishida's mom wants a word or two with Nishimiya. We'll have to see what she has to tell her before Nishimiya is allowed to see Ishida (which will happen in the last panel of chapter 52).
I've seen kois as thick as my leg, and I'm not even in Asia. They swimmed togetehr with small ones and made pig sounds, too. Sounded pretty predatory to me.
So, Ishida's mom will come at the bridge in the night, and that be miracle?
I just marathoned all 5 tanks this morning.
Where do I go for the latest (raw) chapters?
Nyaa is still down, and it seems like they've cracked down on ddl raw manga sites since I last checked.
No way man, this is totally required, along with all those fucking character-centric chapters. Ooima totally knows what she's doing and hasn't just spun her wheels for about ten chapters now while overestimating the amount of compelling drama she could eek out of the ensemble while Ishida is awol
Like I said yesterday, I'd like it if "miracle on the bridge" was actually meant in an humorous way, with Ishida texting Nishimiya while she is on the bridge, scaring the shit out of her.
Fine, then I'll criticize it.
You're such a fool is better.
CR does some stupid stuff with their translations; like this page.
This page is supposed to be a dramatic page, but I can't help but laugh at the use of "friggen."
>inb4 you can't say fuck in a manga read by American kids
Sure, but do you know what the solution is?
Omit the curse; "...and jumped" would have been fine.
The most laughable localization is this , while not their worse affront to this manga, it's just ridiculous.
Not even as a joke, faggot.
The pages are named 001-018 and thus are in proper rreading order. You must be one massive autist to really give a single fuck about that. Oh, and btw, there're tools for renaming multiple files at once, you dumbfuck.
>The pages are named 001-018 and thus are in proper rreading order
Yeah, but every chapter is 1-18
>Oh, and btw, there're tools for renaming multiple files at once, you dumbfuck.
There are rips where it's already done, why wouldn't you use those if they were available?
>Yeah, but every chapter is 1-18
Learn to read.
I said 001-018 on purpose, you fucking retard, because that's how they are named. Every image viewer displays those pages in their proper order, so what the fuck is your problem?
Apparently you never downloaded a chapter off that archive and are just talking out of your ass.
It's official, you are mentally handicapped.
Yes, but you can't have multiple chapters named 001-018 in the same folder.
Thaifag with us in spirit and apparently something happened.
We were conceited! Ueno forever!
>CR does a better job than the fan translators did.
*sound of shoe rubbing against pavement.
//no idea what the last two are >japanese -> chinese -> english sfx
Shouya: "There's something you've forgotten."
Note: I want to use this notebook to become friends with everybody.
6-2 nishimiya shouko
IV bag:?FullCal #2
//IV nutrition. See: http://www.terumo.co.jp/medical/promotion/fulcaliq/01.html
//Which doesn't make sense because he should be feed through a gastic tube instead to maintain the health of his gastrointestinal system and liver.
Next issue: The miracle on the bridge.
//did they seriously put watermark on their own typesetting?
CR's translation is the least of their sins.
They get handed fresh master copies from Grorious Nihon, and they compress the shit of them because of their shit server space.
They spend all of twenty seconds typesetting it with inconsistent, and more insultingly, BLAND font that drains all emotion out of every panel.
Not to mention, their goddamned ereader.
This shit would be acceptable for a fantranslation, but not from "professionals."
Congratulations CR, you're almost as talented as a bunch of people working from their one bedroom apartments for free in their free time.
>Stay away from Ishida, because he was bullied.
Defend it. It's completely and 100% wrong in every way, and it's a very important line. CR never made an error on that magnitude.
That was a bad mistake, but they're generally pretty good.
Shut the fuck up, kid. You don't know Japanese and never will.
Do you call Tokyo Toukyou? No? Then I'd shut the fuck up if I were you.
There's no character in the series named "Shouko". That isn't anyone's name. Shouko is a romanization of ??. Shoko is valid too.
>They get handed fresh master copies from Grorious Nihon, and they compress the shit of them because of their shit server space.
>They spend all of twenty seconds typesetting it with inconsistent, and more insultingly, BLAND font that drains all emotion out of every panel.
See, THIS is valid criticism. We should hate things for valid reasons, not because we're asbergers autists bitching about "saiyan" vs "saiyan-jin".
>Stay away from Ishida, because he was bullied.
That was a bad mistake, but they're generally pretty good.
Norway was a little bit worse than CR, but FwPA was better.
>There's no character in the series named "Shouko". That isn't anyone's name. Shouko is a romanization of ??. Shoko is valid too.
Shoko is not valid, it's wrong.
There's a sound in Sh?ko which is most correctly represented as Shouko.
Yes, most people would pronounce them the same, but when you remove it, you remove any chance of someone pronouncing it correctly.
It's one letter, CR has no excuse.
names are always with the u gone or no bar in an english context. tokyo vs toukyou, osaka vs ousaka, sato vs satou, saito vs saitou, ito vs itou, etc. while the latter isn't totally rare, its a lot less common than the former.
Guess what, it's all valid, CR is a heap, and goddamn them for ever getting their grimy claws on such a beautiful work of art.
At least the Scanlators cared, CR works for 20 minutes on each chapter and shits it out.
Guess what, the Scanlators were open to criticism too, they sat in threads all night reworking translations.
Blame the times for those, the incorrect spellings are too far ingrained to be changed now.
In 2014, there is no excuse for continuing such an incorrect and barbarous practice.

>>//Which doesn't make sense because he should be feed through a gastic tube instead to maintain the health of his gastrointestinal system and liver.
Correction: Official English name for that IV bag is FullCalIQ
Also, the biggest concern for total parental nutrition is risk of infection. If Shouya decides to just hop out of bed and head to the bridge next chapter, he's going to be leaving a blood trail from pulling out a central venous catheter (it goes from the vein, probably in his forearm, all the way to just before the heart).
>Shoko is not valid, it's wrong.
Wrong. Completely wrong. You're so ignorant, it's not even funny.
Shouko is just a method of romanizing her name. There's a long (stretched) O sound, but there's no real translation for that, because English hasn't had stretched vowel sounds in a few centuries. To an English speaker, the difference between a long and short vowel is a completely different sound. If anything, Shoko is more correct, because it will lead an English speaker to say her name correctly, whereas "Shouko" has an "ou", which has an ambiguous pronunciation in English.
If 100% of the population of the English speaking world had taken Japanese 101, you might have a leg to stand on. If every reader was learning Japanese and was taught methods of romanizing Japanese sounds, then maybe Shouko would make sense. As it is, Shoko actually makes much more sense.
Even on /a/, we use different romanizations for names all the time, mostly based on the subs. We call "? ??" Goku, even though there's a long u sound. Off the top of my head, when Hanasaku Iroha was airing, we called ?? ? Tohru, just because the subs did, even though that "oh" is fucking retarded.
>To an English speaker, the difference between a long and short vowel is a completely different sound. If anything, Shoko is more correct, because it will lead an English speaker to say her name correctly, whereas "Shouko" has an "ou", which has an ambiguous pronunciation in English.
That's completely untrue.
An English speaker seeing Shoko will not pronounce it Sh?ko, they will pronounce it SHOW-KOH.
You're letting him sidetrack you, as sad as it is, Shouko/Shoko are both acceptable, even if Shouko does more accurately reflect the name. The real problem with CR is the fact that they compress the manga down, thus ruining the great masters they get while refusing to offer a HQ alternative, and that their type setting and localizations are retarded.
The problem with compression is that Ooima's lines are so delicate that the artifacts wash away details and actually serve to blur the work. It looks fuzzy and washed out.
>here's a long (stretched) O sound, but there's no real translation for that, because English hasn't had stretched vowel sounds in a few centuries
Are you stupid?
"Shouko" isn't an english translation of her name, it's a transliteration in the latin alphabet.
You're just an ignorant fuck. Shut up.
Another thing i hate about CR is that they want you to pay 10 bucks a minth to rent a manga.
If I pay for KnK, then I want to be able to download them in uncompressed format, not read them on that retarded CReader at quality I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
>inb4, well at least you'd be giving ooima some cash
One, I have personally imported all five available tanks, and two Ooima has all the money she's going to get from CR.
Shouko had a dream, but some anons, because they have to different, asserted that instead of a dream, Shouko would find a suicide not from Shouya that he had written in the book before he gave it back to her.
They thought this despite the fact that bot h Yuzuru and Shouko had read through the book multiple times after he gave it back to her.
It reminds me of the time there was this huge bitchfit thrown by someone who insisted that Granny would be hospitalized instead of dead.
