I like the art, but they've been bringing up his previous life way too much. Makes it feel more like a normal "20th century person dropped in a fantasy world" story than it is.
That and, as everyone keeps saying, the pace. they're skipping a lot of lorebuilding and setting info. It's sort-of forcing a disconnect between MC and the world, which plays in to what I said before about it feeling like too much of a garden-variety version of this kind of story.
