Are all Light novels this bad? I kinda got my interest Piqued after all the adaptations coming out recently so took a crack at Pic related and good god this is bad.
now, I read this for like 3 chapters or so and i actually liked how they handed the whole trapped in another world thing It might just be because I actually read books but i just couldnt handle how amateurish and simplistic it felt, its sorta given me a bad impression. Does it get any better? is there anything with more Substance?
it is a web light novel.
you are supposed to enjoy it's simplistic feel.
as far as light novels go, MT can be considered quite in depth.
if you did not enjoy MT, then that may be due to either personal preference, or a general distaste for the majority of japanese LN's.
these things cannot be helped.
on the bright side, if you do not like it, you do not need to read it. things will progress as they have whether or not you participate in reading MT.
I do have to admit though. Chapter 127 was fairly lackluster, given how extensive the previous focus was. I expected more, given the focus of chapter 127.
Light Novels General? Light Novels General!
Feel free to repost your favourite fanfiction-tier trash like you do in every LN General.
Pic related. It's my favourite fanfic of the year.
Now hesitating between finishing Chaika before the second season starts, reading Escape Speed or reading Money & Wisdom.
Honestly i think the problem may have just stemmed from the translation itself, it felt stilted and unnatural, something that Kills Dialog in most books.
I'd be more than willing to try out some with more substance in the Poise.
>but i just couldnt handle how amateurish and simplistic it felt
Eh, I don't find it any more simplistic or amateurish than most of the other books I've read. Maybe if I was comparing it to some Stephen King books it'd be slightly inferior or something. Perhaps you've set the bar too high?
Funny, I was actually reading The Stand just a few minutes a go.
I guess im just not going into this with the right mindset, i didnt really know what to expect whenI started it.
I just hate how there's no acknowledgement of it. I feel so much better when I have a rough idea of when to expect it. That way I can choose whether to skim for a crappy summary and skip, keep refreshing every 15m, or go to sleep and hope it's there to greet me when I wake up.
One thing to note is that a lot of the feeling and professionalism is lost when we fan translate from one language to another (or sometimes one language to another language to another language).
MT had its plot just meander around for two volumes. The main plot actually begins on Vol 3 while the first 2 volumes only set up everything. At least read the first 3 to 5 volumes before making any real judgements on MT.
I only read like 3 LN before this, the last one I read was Re:monster and it was good but this one blows that out of the water. It might be you have set your expectations high. I really liked how well the author did at writing some nice stories about Rudy being a baby and growing up.
I personally think Mushoku Tensei is one of the best LNs I've ever read. Characters develop. Powers develop. Relationships develop. MC isn't overly beta, isn't overly dense, still has weak points. People die. People have children. Your favorite girl probably wins. etc.
Huh, those anons sure weren't kidding about the MC. I'm still only 3 chapters in though.
And it's somewhat enjoyable.
It is usually called "one of the best wish fulfillment series"
But in all seriousness, yeah it's good, also it's not a LN it's a web novel (which makes the quality it has far less possible).
I made it a rule to not read LN I only make exemptions for certain things,
i only read this one because I heard MC actually has children with his harembut the overall story surprised me.
MT is a webnovel adapted into a LN. Being the crazy and glorious bastard he is, the author has decided not to take down the chapters he has on the website. What's more, he's still churning out 1 volume every month and releasing them on the site. I guess that's the difference between working for money and working because you enjoy it.
Oh shi-, I didn't know he was still releasing new web volumes. This makes my month even better. I thought I was going to have to wait until the LNs started catching up with the web novels before we got more volumes.
Thanks for answering kind /a/nons.
So another question before I move forward, is it implied at the end of volume 2 that Rudeus created the mana calamity and the subsequent mass teleportation? It seems a bit bizarre and random to be quite honest how a saint-level spell that was to make a storm created something totally different.
I enjoy books. I also enjoy light novels.
you can learn how to enjoy things for what they are intended for.
just because you like gourmet food, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy a fast food burger too.
unless you're super fancy, but then I would question what a fancy guy like you is doing browsing /a/.
arifureta a shit though.
mana calamity was actually caused by farts.
there was a god who ate so many farts. Then one day, all the farts he ate suddenly burst out. there was a lighter present.
presto. magic ball of light and mana calamity and people got blown to different parts of the world due to magical flaming farts.
just read the story and stop asking questions. you're just asking to be spoilered. what kind of guy "who actually reads books," would ask for spoilers?
do you actually read books or ask people for summaries?
It was implied that he played a role in causing the calamity. For example, how he noted his mana was depleted in the beginning of volume 3. His mana was probably one of the factors that caused the teleportation. The true mastermind is still unknown.
It's a small point that was bugging me for a while. I don't like big spoilers, but I felt no harm in learning about this particular spoiler. I could read on but it's late and it is stuck on my mind right now so I wanted to know before I went to sleep, that's all.
/a/'s wet dream is a different LN. This one, mech otaku
gets hit by a vehicleand winds up in a somewhat medieval world where surprise surprise, the brunt of the combat is done by mechs.
>Reading Moonlight Sculptor and Arifureta
Today was a good day. I'm still patiently waiting for 130 to finish, but it's funny how everyone was freaking out that v.13 wasn't going to finish, but the next day almost all of it is done.
For those who missed it.
There are alot of LN, and they aim at different type of audiences.
Unfortunately the one most likely to get translated are shounen-like works similar to how Naruto/bleach/onepiece are always translated first.
Liking this so far. Only a single chapter is out though.
It's in the teaser section.
>winds up in a somewhat medieval world
He looks cute as hell (no homo). He should have reincarnated as a woman for maximum genericity.
My crack addiction won't be satisfied until Eris
meets back up with Rudi again and. probably joins the harem
Until we get somewhere near that I have a feeling I'm going to be refreshing pastebins and deviantart pages multiple times a day.
IIRC these LN are being frequently translated:
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria (waiting for the 7th volume)
Gate Jieitai (translations never - read the manga)
Maou na Ore to Fushihime no Yubiwa
Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance
Iris on Rainy Days (completed)
There's always the one which I mentioned here >>112386511 was /a/'s wet dream.
>Reincarnates as a loli girl
>In medieval fantasy world
>Builds a harem
>Go on lesbian loli adventures with harem
>Starts to turn bisexual and become attracted to men
Honestly, you can't expect that much substance from LNs. I just read them because they're light reads and are mostly just fun to talk about. In terms of substance though, I would say that "When Hikaru was on Earth" is probably one of the better written ones, though it is extremely flowery. Overall though, I would say don't expect much but a fun read, if sometimes irritating one.
That chapter has been reserved by the guy who did v10 c1 and 2 (which still needs much editing).
I don't think you'll be seeing it for a long time unless someone else decides to do it anyway.
you didn't miss much, an anon in the previous thread basically summarized it.
Gisu is a bro, Roxy a
best, Sylphie a love, and Zenith a potato. I want a doujin of Lilia NTR'ing Aisha with Rudeus, making her sit seiza while she is is made to receive instructions. Bonus points if Norun is there to tease her.
Wait what? Blade-Dance esque series with magic schools full of only woman are one of the most common LN types in existence. I can name 5-10 of them off the top of my head.
Overpowered protagonists in fantasy settings is also as common as hell.
Unless your favorite genre refers to contracting spirits or something. That's a bit harder.
Despite many cliche's I would recommend this just because in the first volume there is a mutual confession.
Pretty sure one of things that people are complaining about is that the author pretty much spells it out to you. Well it did surprise me at some points.
I don't understand how it "gets nowhere" can you explain? I don't see much development happen in other manga or LN. It's not perfect of course.
I need new chapters for the manga.
FeMC is too lewd.
Any action/adventure LN where the relationships actually progress at some point? I can't read moonrunes so possibly something translated.
Even stuff like DxD is fine. I can't deal with these fucking relationship limbos anymore.
I fucked up.
Let's discuss why it's cute to have an ahoge.
I just felt like the author just kept introducing more and more random plot developments out of nowhere. It went from "School for Agents" to "Battle against (pretty much) monsters with random bullshit powers" ridiculously quickly.
Also, their relationship hasn't really progressed that much and neither have the two characters actually developed that much.
Of course, I dropped this
after the "This is not the end, only the beginning" note that the author gaveso I my opinion might not be 100% correct.
I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding me or if I'm misunderstanding you.
However, Knights and Magic has a male MC. The one I was talking about was another LN which I don't remember the name of at the moment.
No, the LN is on a long hiatus too IIRC because the publishers went super-Jew and demanded the artist to do 100 illustrations in a month or something. It's probably possible to just scrape the webnovel off of narou using the wayback machine though.
Besides LNs almost always being better than the anime; the anime skipped over a couple of scenes.
But then I wouldn't have been able to read what happened after the anime ended. Also the LN you're translating is fucking deep-- you do a good job at still giving us the ability to read between the lines.
Because Koreans took the worst aspects from America (capitalism on crack + R&B culture), the worst aspects from Japan (corporate culture on crack), and combined them along with growing insecurities of China's growing power into what they proudly call Korean culture. Also they promote leg fetish which is a redeeming trait.
anon confirmed for being made out of diamonds
It's on the level of a child's fantasy novel, with young adult levels of "mature" content. It compares poorly with, say, Artemis Fowl or the Abhorsen Trilogy or anything by Diana Wynne Jones.
It's just... it's not really very good. It's pretty solid for fanfiction - translated fanfiction, at that - but that doesn't mean it's actually /good/.
You also forgot that Military otaku one wherein MC gets reincarnated with little magic but he uses his previous life's memory and made guns using the little magic he have. Now he have a firing squad that's also his harem.
Why does it always have to be "random useless guy dies and wakes up in world X as character Y", "random useless guy start playing a virtual reality game as character Y in world X" or something along those lines?
Why not just cut the crap and have the main character be a native of the world the LN is set in?
Because despair is the magic that turns dreams into reality.
>open baka-tsuki forums
>shakugan no shana and kaze no stigma have still their own forums
Nope Re:Translation's translators got busy, so the ones left are semi-translators that translate EC(Byr), and Tsuyokutte New Saga(The new translators), Vidar went' MIA for 2 weeks now, xz is waiting for people to come back, laverdy logs in every two days and TL for 15 minutes, and I am busy with my midterms so I put TL aside and use the little time I have left for relaxing.
>SoL rom-com about a guy and a abusive tsundere voiced by Kugimiya Rie.
I need more of that in my life.
DanMachi can go up there. BT only has the first volume. But it's actually up to Vol 3 and the guy doing it works fast.
Provided he actually comes back in September after his break is over. But that's a Jinx in the making.
Other TL groups are you even trying.
Is this the LN with the fastest translations?
THIS right here. I may have liked Strike the Blood, but Hidan no Aria can be compared to StB due to introducing a lot of concepts that feel like an excuse to introduce more girls.
Because it easier to relate with the MC, making the developments more interesting. By easier to relate, I don't mean as a self insert, but that your knowledge of the setting is on the same wavelength as the MC. whatever he's experiencing in the world is first time just like it is to you. It provokes the reader to have more thoughts like "What would I do if I am in MC's position?"
Meh. Kaito's account is 11 years old. That's back before youtube. Having an account from back then isn't bad.
Also, I went through the trouble of copypasting kind anon's 128/129 to BT because why not.
He's a machine who translates everything written by Kazuma Kamachi, Color Wars, and Owari no Chronicle and Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon by Minoru Kawakami.
Yep, he's a force to be reckoned with.
Not the anon you were responding to, but I actually kind of liked Garth Nix. Also, I'm fairly certain the Abhorsen is at least young adult, not children seeing as they have implied sex and stuff in there if I remember right.
Artemis Fowl is children's but I do agree that the series got progressively worse.
It has already bent over when C&D notices got sent in. SAO and Shakugan no Shana were the two I remember but I'm sure there have been more that have been taken down.
Basically, whenever Yen Press or somebody decides to release the novel, you can kiss the translations goodbye.
Has no one still posted the tranlslated chapters to BT for mushoku?
Lets let Vanant just skip working on those so he can focus on the other ones.
Fuck Viz for Shakugan no Shana.
But at least Yen Press still allowed New Testament Index to continue translations even though they picked up the 22 volumes of the Old Testament.
Not necessarily because it might take years for them to catch up to the LNs if at all. Some companies don't play catch-up and release translations at the same pace/slower than the release of the actual novels. Even then, it'll usually at least a couple of years until the entirety of an already unofficially translated novel becomes released by the translation companies.
Changing the registration part confused me. Maybe one of the other translations can do it properly for now but I just added stuff in parenthesis.
Kaito said maybe tomorrow for 132, but no guarantees.
Formatting on BT is weird or something. When I copypasta'd 128/129 earlier in order to obtain the same spacing I had to press enter in between every single line.
Thankfully for some reason that's something I'm insanely good at doing.
just small segments I had done here and there and spoiler tagged a in threads few days ago.
Since it's early in the night for me, I'm gonna make proper headway on it right now though.
I was so fucking happy when I heard that he started translated both OnC and Horizon. Given their size, I never expected anyone else to pick them up.
Nice. I look forward to enjoying your work.
I have a feeling by the end of tomorrow we're all going to be waiting on Vanant again. But this time for 138. (and 139, 140, 141, 142?)
Js06 is just a normal translator translating normal light novels anon.
Vanant just needs to clean and post 127 and 131 now, and Kaito needs to get to work on 132 and v13 is blue.
That untouched v15 is going to be interesting, 16 is touch-and-go, Awrya or whoever seems to be making steady progress on 17 and I don't even want to consider the reality of 18 and 19.
3 days should be the start of ch20.
Well, I think as long as we have at least one more active translator, we can probably come damn close to getting caught up by the end of september.
Dunno why would you ask that to /a/. Most people here don't really know about the good LNs, and the rest just reads those half-assed Baka Tsuki translations. If I recall correctly, one of the Monogatari's TLs was so bad they removed it from the site.
I REALLY want to believe. We should really have somewhere for his stuff if he comes back or get permission to put in on BT.
He worked so fast.
I made the same mistake it was really confusing at first.
One day js06 will have all of this translated. (Well at least he is reading CITY, I don't think he plans to translate it as of yet.)
Probably not. He just wrote this on my talk page or whatever that is. I don't think he knows that I'm not the one who translated it. How do I into replying.
>Fuck you. Vanant (talk) 21:38, 18 August 2014 (CDT)
Forgot to add.
You could've took consideration that Vanant doesn't want people to jump into his reserved spots, he pretty much gets angry easily. Should at least talked about it.
I don't know how deviant art works either
Apologize? He might be a baby but the more TLs the better. Just say some random guy translated it and you posted it without understanding how BT worked.
>Apologize? He might be a baby but the more TLs the better. Just say some random guy translated it and you posted it without understanding how BT worked.
>Three words: go fuck yourself.
I think he's big baby.
Eh I'd be pretty pissed too if someone took a jump on me.
You love to translate chapters __ ___ and __ because you loved those chapters so you reserved them. This one guy comes right in without knowing how BT work blatantly posted another translation without any say or message to the guy who was planning to do it. It's like saying fuck you.
Yeah he's mad as all fuck.
Maybe he'll calm down who knows.
Its not like he can't just put his translations up.
Sure these should have stayed in pastebin but its not like you need to throw a shitfit over it,
Besides if he was actually bothered over it and not some shitty e-peen he could just post it on his deviantart.
I was thinking of Boku to Kanojo no Game Sensou, but it was Happoubi Jin.
All the LN are shit that because they have just a type of public and they are rotten otakus , that want their childish fantasies be written in every episode of the LN, just look the most famous LNs an the top sellers, all of them have one thing in common that is that they are written for otakus. The only LN that can be considered good is Spice & Wolf
Holy shit. Vanant really jumped a pile of dicks with this one.
Can he be more of a bitch? Someone got fed up with his aussie slacking and put up the stuff he was supposed to translate. So fucking what. Its not some special shiny place to be a chapter's translator. Its a willing gift you are giving we desperate fans. You don't get paid. You're doing it out of the goodness of your heart.
If you're having trouble and don't get it done in time, don't get pissy when someone else does the job because they thought they'd spend the time to do it.
Such a special little snowflake our Vanant is.
I hope a dropbear eats him.
Why even reserve 10 chapters at once? What about reserving one, working on it, finishing it, then reserving another one that isn't done/being worked on and so on... This translator drama is stupid.
>Someone got fed up with his aussie slacking and put up the stuff he was supposed to translate.
And thanks to that bastard, your light novel has one less translator. Congratulations.
Translators are so prissy. Its saddening. We got those two anons if they're willing to continue.
I can hope so. But really, if he wants to be prissy and hold onto chapters, we're better off without him.
>this translator drama is stupid
You need to play the game to get your chapters. Now we're all paying for some idiot's stupidity.
Even if Vanant is a faggot, as long as nobody says it to his face, he'll live his life happy and be productive.
And he can still translate it. It'd be awesome if he did and he will be a better translator.
But the throughout these threads he stalled chapters, scooped up several other chapters, sat on them, then ragequited when someone else did it despite that. Note how before it came to his chapters the translations were running smoothly, but when it did it slowed to a crawl. I'm not going stand up for a translator that doesn't translate.
What he's mad is not that some anon translated the chapter. But rather some guy used that anon's translation and posted it on BT that he himself reserved. I think the point here is he didn't even talked to vanant since vanant was the one reserving the chapters. And he's mad at how deadgye never even bothered following the rules and openly posted the chapters without consent at all.
>You are required to register which chapters you wish to work on. One portion of text at a time per translator, please.
>One portion of text at a time per translator, please.
Hmm? The only rules I know of for uploading content is that you need the permission of said person. We got CN-translator-anon's permission to put them onto BT.
If you could help me find the other rules I apparently missed and broke, I'd be much obliged.
Keep in mind rikai-chan translates light novel as "young-adult fiction" so it's definitely no Proust or Camus. Not that that's a bad thing mind. I don't want a lecture in my entertainment after all.
>implying you can kill the words of the goddess
hitogami no deshi, onegai.
I seem to remember taking quite a few days to get vol.9 ch.3 out and some anon here did it and uploaded it for the benefit of everyone else. I didn't talk shit, and even said thanks to them as well. It was there for people to read, and then when I had gotten around to putting my version up, i merely <hidetext>'d the link to the old preview on the registration page, and even kept the link there in the editor, because that shit was polite to do.
No point in getting mad over shit on the internet.
I just hope vanant kicks a dingo, then continues on 14. otherwise, if he moves to inactive, i'll keep in v14 and have to adjust my timetable is all.
I'm a fucking /a/non lifer. I can get shit on and not even get mad. And when I get mad, I just fap to a good trap thread or something on sadpanda and i'm chill again.
To prevent multiple people from editing the same chapter. However, the first and foremost rule to prevent that is not to register multiple chapters.
He didn't even upload a rough draft of 127 yet.
Technically the way they doing it is that no one could upload translation before they registered first (which is the first come first serve basis rule). It's also why they put Vanant's translation as preview for diary chapter because COTHER registered it first and the supervisor needs to contact him first before putting the translation.
Why is BT so shitty
He should at least translate those Eris Greyrat chapter first. I can't hate him because he's also an Eris bro ;_;
You should just learn to take it easy.
This is /jp's translation philosophy:
1) Translation is too difficult, so...
2) Don't bother, just learn Japanese
They are right that "Translating is writing a story that's already written", but they take too much of a hardline against machine translations.
The minute people were translating out of BT I started saving shit. People are fags.
Why does Vanant have so many chapters reserved when he's so slow? He wants people to suck his dick for being a decent translator that was responsible for what he thinks are the best chapters.
Well, get it so you don't have to experience that embarrassment again.
You're looking for ??????????????????and it's fucking horrible.
Loli reincarnation is called ???????????? or Komatsuna.
I think people are just annoyed that he's posted for like the last week that he'd have 127 done by like the next day and then kept postponing it over and over. I know I'm annoyed with him about that.
If there's anything I've learned don't set dates if you don't intend to keep them.
I'm trying to make amends with him. Based on the wiki guidelines I didn't do anything wrong, but I guess there are some other rules somewhere in the forums that I missed.
It's up to him whether he accepts my apology or not I guess. Somebody else tell him that registering more than one chapter at a time is breaking the rules too, because I have a feeling I shouldn't say it to him. (And it'd prevent most of this conflict bullshit from happening in the first place.)
Not really. But there is no good reason to reserver a chapter that you aren't going to be working on for weeks. It stops more translators from coming in and getting text done, and since this seems to be an /a/ flavor of the month kind of thing, there will very likely be several anons that come and go over the next few weeks that will want to work on this project.
Flavor of three months.
I also hope more people like Kind Anon show up and TL with lightning speed and efficiency.
Stop fucking talking to him you idiot, he's a self centered crybaby there's nothing you can do to resolve the situation. He'll either come around because he wants the attention or through the supplication of people he believes to not be responsible for this slight. (you)
>Somebody else tell him that registering more than one chapter at a time is breaking the rules too,
>Registration is on a "First Come, First Served" basis. Please register your intended chapters on the project's registration page.
In case people don't know, recently Vanant has been a SOB and was working himself up to rage quit. This was just an excuse. He's been pissing all over editors for screwing up his works.
They guy obviously doesn't care about the project. He is translating his favorite chapters as a study thing and figured he should get some cock sucking on the side. Someone with a bigger cock came along and now he has no desire to continue working in the public eye.
>It's exactly as the motherfucker shit-eating cunt below me says. It'd be a shame to get rid of them. I can't get them deleted, nor would I want to.
Straight from the horses mouth.
He started deleting my posts instead of responding to them, so there's no point in trying anymore I guess.
>Translators may only register for portions of one volume at a time within each project. This is to prevent "biting off more than you can chew".
>The Registration page is not a binding contract
I was trying to work the translations into a preview or whatever is more appropriate, but he flipped out and they got wiped before I could. I thought informing him that someone else did the translations already asap so he didn't waste time on them was the nice thing to do.
He's not worth talking about. He did decent work, but if he's going to sit on large chunks of the material and hold everything up it's better if he takes his shit fits someplace else.
So far the only place that seems nice to live is the Magic University country. Asura is a place ruled by a bunch of vile sex deviants and Millis is.... well terrible.
If the Magic Continent had better geography it seems like the place to live.
I'm basing this mostly on how free the lives and thinking of people in the area seem to be in addition to the percentage of unusual women that likely populate the area.
>>The Registration page is not a binding contract
It's not, but it's etiquette to follow an established guideline that's meant to keep things in order unless both parties agrees for a better idea, which didn't happen. And I'm only refuting your point about him breaking rules, which he didn't.
>Alderamin project teaser started
Not that I have much faith in the project going very far, but how is this? It seems interesting enough so far.
Anyone reading LMS can you confirm something for me?
When he get's dragged to the northern continent for the second time on a "quest" did he actually accept it? If he completes it will he get the reward?
From what I could tell his fucking retarded ass refused it when it was initially offered and then they just forced him.
>Vanant removes himself from v13 registration
>Onizuka rolls registration back so that he's registered again.
lol, guess we're just sticking with pastebins and should tell cn-translator to start from 138.
Projects you were sorely disappointed never got off the ground.
He did, but he apologized only to face manchild tantrum, supervisor already reverted everything and explained to his face to no avail
While I'm extremely grateful for Vanant, no one can deny he's an egomaniac, same shit will happens sooner or later
Any other novice Japanese learners here? I only have two semester's of Japanese under my belt, that is, basic grammar structure, and very limited vocabulary. How is trying to read light novel's with the aid of something like denshijisho beta?
At this rate it won't be finished before 2022. If I'm not fluent in Japanese by then I might as kill myself.
Literally made the account mere minutes before uploading so that other people would be able to enjoy the translation. Checked all the guidelines/rules I could find for reasons not to upload it, saw nothing notable. Put notes into the registration page to let him know that someone completed the translations so he didn't waste time.
And then got met with that. I mean I'm sorry I'm the one that triggered this, but with that attitude if it wasn't me it would have been someone else.
Slowly churning out chapters somebody else already translated. If anything I saved him time.
Except that now he can be replaced by someone who is actually fast and contributing with work miles ahead of Vanant.
The reason why Vanant is suck slow is because he can't be bothered or is incapable of writing proper English in literature prose, and needs others to work on his shit.
I think we are just spoiled by this series regarding translation speed and 1 chapter per week can be considered very fast when compared to other projects. Vanant's translation is no way considered slow.
Just learn basic grammar and then use Rikaichan.
Easier solution is to use VN's with text hooks. Something like pic related. Uses Rikai chan dictionary too.
>Slowly churning out chapters somebody else already translated. If anything I saved him time.
It doesn't work that way, trust me, and Vanant is someone really particular about translation. Though, I agree it bound to happen sooner or later
And who will be replacing him? There isn't some sort of waiting line or privilege that goes with the job. You should be glad there's even someone willing to do it, faggot as he may be.
And like >>112398392 says, MushoTen is already moving at blazing speeds due to the number of translators working on it. Take a look at other LNs if you want to complain about being slow.
There's no guarantee of that, he's under no obligation to do so.
Would people suck his dick if he came back and did more work? Sure, but ultimately it's still a matter of anon feeling whimsical and generous enough to spend a few hours doing free translations. Which isn't to say that projects with registered translators are more reliable, I'm just saying that you can't rely on anon's generosity based off one or two incidents.
None of the translators have a binding contract. Any asshole can talk with the sup, register half a volume, and then never do it. In order to not break the "rules" you'd have to message him on his talk page when you noticed it and then wait 2 weeks before you could take it over.
It's a convoluted mess. Vanant broke the rules twice over in registering 10 chapters and then didn't even do them in order. The fact that he's mad at this random uploader instead of the TL makes even less sense.
So whats the difference btw some anon who translates and posts here, and might or might not continue, and some anon who registers a name, posts on BT, then ragequits?
Only one thing.
This is why things should be kept "muh secret club"
I hope whoever uploaded the chapters didn't actually think "Hey I know you are already working on these, but let me jump in and tell you that it's all wasted effort, so hurry up and work on v14" would fly.
He is mad the Dreadgye cause Dreadgye is fking rude. And to be fair he translated a quarter of volume 14 already and we would soon have the first 5 chapter to read once skuizaan is done.
To be honest, while I do appreciate the work, those previous chapters were in collaboration with Dark Kaito, and recently on the chapters he is doing himself, Vanant has been more concerned with beating up on editors for cleaning up the lines he made wrongly.
There's no difference, but what we actually had was
some anon who translates and posts here, and might or might not continue, and some committed anon who registers a name, posts on BT
The ragequit part only came because someone lacked etiquette
Something like that. those under Kanant Vaito were "An unholy matrimony of Vanant and Dark Kaito"
I can understand getting angry at the bloody rude post, but quitting only brought him to the level of someone doing whatever he wants. I understand theres nothing holding him to the chapters he committed, but it only goes to show his professionalism and maturity, lack of.
