Hey /a/ what's up?
Any updates on the manga traders archive?
Not the OP, but I was about to ask the same thing so, bump.
I remember seeing a thread about it recently, which talked about a ftp.
I don't think it had a password back then. I kinda just went to see what it looked out and then went to do something else.
And now I want to download mango and I'm fucked.
Sorry for the tech support question:
Filezilla keeps giving me "426 Transfer aborted. Operation not permitted" whenever I try to download anything.
Google said that the admin probably set up a file size limitation, but I saw none of that mentioned neither in the threads nor in the archive.
So, does anybody know what happened?
So, what do you people use to download batches now?
Filezilla was great while the FTP was for downloading, having similar programs on the Ipad made my reading experiences even better but either I'm doing something wrong or those same methods don't seem to work for the http.
If you're FTP owner, then thank you very much for Incomplete button. Now we only need take out dead scanlations from Ongoing folder. Also, I only see Delete MangaUpdates data button, where's add MangaUpdates ID one?
The Viz, Vertical that put this shit on and then we rip.
Blame them, not us.
>still scanning manga
God bless digitals
At least they allway have better scan compare to jp scanner thought.
They have sometimes. And even without watermarks on every page. Way better than Koreans at least, and sometimes better than Japs. Still, all three permanently can't into scans.
Whoever uploaded OPM screwed up.
Make sure to upload the files from the offcial MF folder.
On that note, we should really have some quality filters or something since some people will upload the inferior version everytime.
Problem is, we can't do it automatically as in some cases poor quality is the best we've got, and a system to rate quality of different uploads and purge the inferior ones would be beyond the project's scope.
They do have better raws, especially if it's official scans.
Last time I checked (admittedly years ago), the japanese raws weren't as good as this one.
And as far as I'm aware, there are only magazine scans for Japanese raws for this one.
Genres should be optional or moved to that hover panel completely (there's no point to show it two times at once), artist should be listed alongside with author if they're different people, and tags "name of the publisher (for scans) and "scanlation" for files, that's what I'd like to see.
The switch to MU names is retarded. 20 Seiki Shounen? Zenryou naru Itan no Machi? Toukyou Ubasuteyama?. Come on. And whenever I refresh the page it shows the old names and then freezes for a couple of seconds. And the ftp still uses the old names, too.
Great that now we have dates and tags but scrolling is fucking annoing now with all those constantly changing pictures. And it only shows one name in the author field for the manga with several authors.
And manga info panel keeps fucking following you whenever you scroll down and it also pisses me off.
I'll look at those. I agree with duplicating the tags now that you've mentioned.
>artist should be listed alongside with author if they're different people
This /should/ already work, unless I bust it.
Does anyone want some manga from "read online"-type website?
I have no problem creating and using content scrapers, and I would gladly upload downloaded stuff to the FTP.
Contact me here if you're interested or have requests.
Ah, I see. Most of the time it's the other way around though, MU ain't exactly up to date. And the last thing, scaling of the hover panel is fucked. I know I might be in minority because I use laptop, but if title is too long or there are a lot of tags, then lower part of it cuts out and I don't see it completely.
It seems to be giving a 403 forbidden error.
Kinda related, I have been archiving manga for a little while now, I'd be glad to upload it somewhere for all to enjoy.
Reminder that everytime you spoonfeed a easily found password to newfags, you help Brad.
It's working fine.
Free Manga Downloader. Just Google it.
>Oh well, I'm not needed then.
The point here is to make an alternative source of manga. /a/'s own archive of manga if you will. And, if you're able to contribute, it would be highly appreciated.
But uploading inferior quality would only result in more work since then someone would have to discover it and then reupload the better quality.
>/a/'s own archive of manga if you will
That might have been possible a few years ago, but now it is already spreading as you can see.
I don't really think something like that is even possible anymore, except if you go full secret club which most people don't want.
This has no connection to MT. People are uploading their own collections of manga, so yeah, if they have the up to date collections of a particular series, it's likely that it has been uploaded as well.
It doesn't have to be full secret club. Just enough to keep majority of the cancer out.
But I do realize how tiresome it would be to do something like that.
Well, I did like the idea proposed in the previous threads about putting the password as a message on IRC. It's an extra hoop, but it's one that I think is sufficiently convenient for most anons but major pain to those undesirables.
But yeah, pretty much what >>110548605 said. Go full secret club and you just get the same bitching like about animebytes.
It just web crawled all the profile pages. It kept an old version of my page for at least a few weeks after MT died. Easiest way to find a cached page is just search cache:<url>
I just had an idea, most of these who"leak" are plebs wannabe, if their credibility are damaged once, then no more plebs.
After entering the site you're redirected into a shock image or something along the line "you've been hacked" and such.
After a set amount of time you're redirected into the site.
It's just an idea though.
So does the password and look where we are.
Also there's link referral blocking option.
In case someone here is looking for the password, I've put it on the image.
Admin should really just put a NSFW Boku No Pico background/gif. It's not like that's illegal and it would solve everything.
It doesn't matter if reddit or facebook is reading this thread since only a few would stay there for more than a few seconds before leaving disgusted.
Did you watch The Net, it would perfectly work.
-don't display "enter password" like a huge faggot if you don't want extra people to use the site
-make the site look like "under construction", just don't make any stupid hints that you need a password
-put a secret "button" somewhere that opens the login window or just leads you to the content directly (to avoid more retarded password drama)
>"you've been hacked"
Displaying something like "this is a not trusted malware site, there are repost of viruses etc" like browsers do could work better.
I've been using the FTP this entire time, but I want to sort from the site because it seems more convenient. If I mark something as incomplete, will it add the [Incomplete] tag to the corresponding FTP folder?
>Who would want that kind of thing in a facebook post?
the people who dont want us to succeed
they best way to deal with this is to ignore them, if we give them more attention it'll just give them more fuel
But that's not the point, what I meant was that no one on facebook apart from Brad and those who are trying to spread it would stay more than a few seconds.
It's about inconvenience.
>the people who dont want us to succeed
That's not the real 'danger'. If we say, do put boku no pico or some other hentai on it, it WILL deter it being spread on facebook at the very least.
>-make the site look like "under construction", just don't make any stupid hints that you need a password
speaking of that, the index page of madokami.com just prints out "psh" and a line break. Is it just that or you guys are hiding something from me?
It's too late.
Something about viruses always scares normalfags.
Make it look like a porn site and add fake dialogbox that says something like this website is trying to access your computer, you should leave it, virus was detected/reported from this site etc
Still this drama is so fucking retarded, all this autism just because one guy posted it on FB.
>search the archive because sometimes you actually watch anime and aren't on /a/
>find different login/pass
>try the wrong one
/a/ is full of Facebook and Reddit faggotry nowadays. Just look at all the people spoonfeeding. They're probably bitter that no one held their hand, and now they feel obligated to help out their fellow incompetent faggots who can't think for themselves.
Like this thread.
Unfortunately, trying to think of a solution is useless, as people can just look up how to get around it here anyway. I would've though most of us would use IRC anyway to download manga so I don't see a problem with just using that. That would automatically kick people who don't know how to use it
>Still this drama is so fucking retarded, all this autism just because one guy posted it on FB.
This. The admin already said he's not going to do anything except change the password every once in a while.
No, I meant an ongoing series in Japan too.
Like Coppelion, all the Crunchy rips are not there, but they exist. The incomplete tag would kinda act as a request for them to be uploaded.
But your IP changes at least after a few days and normalfags will think they can't access (maybe put something up that says this domain doesn't exist) and they won't come again, while you just change your IP.
Of course these are just ideas. It will probably end with nothing.
>an irc interview
Considering the fact that just mentioning AB is enough to get a bunch of anons bitching and whining? I highly doubt that.
Look guys, you should just learn to accept that those retards are here to stay. Or rather, they've been here on /a/ even before this. You can't deter them. It's the fucking internet.
I would. I really would, but my main problem is that the file structure would have to be rearranged and the naming scheme would have to be consistent everywhere for it to work.
Still though, I'll see what I can do. Once I have the entire archive I can probably work something out. Is there a way you can make a torrent file and give it to me?
We can try God damnit.
I think you underestimate the power of an easy url. Yes they can do that, but again, that's not the issue. Look, "manga madokami" on Google already produces the site on the first page for me.
>Is there a way you can make a torrent file
I'm not part of the MT archival team. I'm just uploading what I have which I'm pretty sure already have torrents on bakabt and/or animebytes.
Reddit now is pretty much what 4chan was way back then. Right down to the stealing memes from other sources part. Hell, if you look at normalfag sites, they pretty much treat readdit the same way they use to treat 4chan.
Of course, /a/ would rather kill themselves than admit that. So would I actually.
And in ever once in a while we'll have a new brad saying " HI I FOUND THE NEW PASSWORD FOR THE MT REPLACEMENT SITE PLEASE LIKE ME!!"
sad panda system was made to fight this kind of thing.
>"manga madokami" on Google already produces the site on the first page for me.
>To prevent URLs from appearing in Google search results, URLs must be crawlable and not disallowed with robots.txt. Once a URL is crawlable, noindex meta tags, password protection, X-Robots-Tag HTTP headers and/or other options can be implemented.
How do we communicate with the ftp owner?
>>implying /a/ doesnt reply tripfag more than anons now
This is wrong.
Daiz and others get replies because they're important to the thread, not because they have a trip.
Even Ledouche and other scum who have been here for a while don't get many replies.
I laughed as I just noticed how similar /a/ and /g/ are.
If /a/ doesn't like something, they call a "honeypot".
If /g/ doesn't like something, they call it a "botnet".
I wonder if other boards have the same tendency.
>he doesnt know
you know all those science fiction stories in /g/ about everything is a botnet and /pol/ with the government controls and monitors the things you do?
Its Slice of life now
I've seen nhentai being called "honeypot" so many times now..
Master race indeed.
I heard that some resource went down and loads of people were busted for posession of CP.
How is that related to strength of the TOR network itself?
What I'm doing right now is php, but I can pretty much use anything. Nothing's so hard I can't grasp it within a few days.
If it comes to the script, though, I'll just use a cronjob that runs like twice a day or something.
>4chan itself is a honeypot and we're all too oblivious to see it
>moot sold the site to the nsa
>passes were created soley for collecting info on users
> half the posters are paid government employees forcing the hivemind to shift in a direction that favours them
>we're all being backtraced by the cyber police right now as well
I want off this wild ride
>everything is a botnet
Botnet stories are not fiction.
Every piece of proprietary software might be a botnet since we have no ways of proving it isn't untill we see its sources or completely reverse-engineer it. So botnet assumtions all have a point.
You're waifu is FBI's honeypot
I talked to FTP's admin and I highly doubt that your implication is even remotely close to being true.
They got what they deserved.
Mentioning it or even just searching for it might put you on the watch list, according to a recent leak.
We all know that 4chan is a honeypot. Let's just pray that nobody gives a shit about us.
>Mentioning it or even just searching for it might put you on the watch list, according to a recent leak.
So the way to make that list unusable is to just make everybody see it.
1. Kono Onee-san wa Fiction Desu!? ( Is this girl for Real? ) https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=56800 (CR rips? )
2. Aka Akatoretachi no Monogatari ( Red Blood Red Legacy ) https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=109963 (Mangabox rips?)
Also everything else from Mangabox and Crunchyroll.
With HorribleScans having trouble and not releasing previous chapters of manga... it would be helpful if someone can rip CR.
Mangabox has some manga which aren't uploaded. It would be helpful if someone does.
uh, If not CR then http://www.batoto.net/comic/_/comics/kono-onee-san-wa-fiction-desu-r449 would do probably. But CR is ahead...
Also, I think it is wiser to rip from batoto if not CR/mangabox right?
Scraping it right now. Gonna take some time since my connection is terrible right now.
I wrote a script that downloads, sorts and zips any gallery from mangapark. Why not put it to good use?
I'm going to create similar script for batoto after this one finishes.
>I'm going to create similar script for batoto after this one finishes.
You literally have way too much time on your hands anon.
Keep up the good work.
I was gonna make something, but I'm giving up. There are too many variables. Way too many differing naming schemes.
Some manga are divided up in volumes, some of them in chapters, others are just divided up in random segments, that's too much to account for. Scanlators need to get their shit together and agree on one universal standard.
It should be something like:
Title (English if applicable or needed)
Vol XX (if it's a completed volume only, it's not like this even matters on an image/manga viewer at this point)
Title . Ch . Vol . TL Group
Seems clean to me. I don't think periods would work well, but it's just a thought of how it should be structured.
I don't see why it should be anything else, and there is no reason to do volumes until the volume is complete.
>You can also find the password here
That's it guys, it's over just delete everything. I d rather have nothing that share it with shitbook retards.
>This is why we can't have nice things.
I hope you realize they're already here.
So do we post loli now then? That scares them doesn't it?
I think the password thing would work. Change it a couple of times, but disguise the thread as a typical SoL of the season? It's not going to deter all MAL/Fb/reddit types, but I think it's going to be fine.
Why don't we just put the sad panda stuff on the madokami ftp too, a nice big directory on the root called loli. That should keep them away shouldn't it?
I can't be bother to dump it all.
Last time I was in one of these threads people were discussing putting a password. Reading the thread people decided on it I guess? Will people be changing the password often, or is will it be the same one every time?
Second thing I'm reading you can no longer download from ftp? What's the reason?
So is there an IRC channel for anons or have we just gotta keep a look out for these threads for updates. If you take it to IRC pretty much everything falls of the radar, you could change the password to something obscure and then be done with normalfags.
There is no decision because the admin is wanking off or something. People kept telling him to make a fucking IRC channel but it's 2hard for him.
Just download as much as you can from the ftp, especially the more obscure stuff, before the admin closes it down (which will probably happen quite soon)
Actually fucking this, it's so obvious too. Why hasn't he done this yet?
You are underestimating people a bit. The guys who want to download manga from a specific website (that doesn't even have ease-of-use stuff like a search function) rather than googling shit and reading it online, those guys are probably aware of irc and ftp as well. Especially since you can just download a firefox addon for them and you're good to go.
The problem is not with Brad sharing this over facebook. I'm pretty sure more than 90% of his friend list doesn't give a fuck about anime in general, let alone reading manga, let alone manga that's not Naruto or Shingeki no Kyojin, let alone downloading manga on a volume by volume basis, downloading some reader or unzipping all the archives.
The reason we want extra security is because we don't want some fucking lawyers putting cease and desist orders on it. Or hackers ruining it like they did with MT.
The cease and desist threat is real, but I doubt there's a threat of the site being hacked, there's no user accounts or passwords for attentionfags to steal/leak so the only real thing that would fuck it up is a DDOS attack.
I just woke up and hover up panel with cover is gone. Anon, will it be back or it's gone for good? I really liked it, it was useful if you want to pick up random manga from the list.
Uploading first 24 chapters of Kono Onee-san wa Fiction Desu!? right now.
Please check if all files are correct after I finish uploading.
Working on batoto script now.
>Second thing I'm reading you can no longer download from ftp? What's the reason?
Because FTP uses a shitload more resources per client. I tried asking nicely in the READ.txt, but there were still people maxing the client limit not uploading shit.
>Reading the thread people decided on it I guess? Will people be changing the password often, or is will it be the same one every time?
Answered many times. It will change, not often enough to worry about though. It'll always be in the READ.txt.
Why so bitter? I don't want to make an IRC channel because I don't believe it justifies it. Occasional /a/ threads are fine. You're more than welcome to go ahead yourself though.
It was buggy as hell on smaller screens. I'll put it back in if I can get it working alright.
I think he's working on it so that It doesn't follow you with a duplication of tags.
Maybe create an area on the right, seperate from the list that just shows the manga thumbnail and, if possible, grab the description as well. It will work much better in a static environment
Yeah, files under 8mb or so can be downloaded.
>manga thumbnail and, if possible, grab the description as well
Yep that could work, the descriptions are already in there, just not displayed anywhere.
We have the data, we're still in the process of mirroring it and working on a good system for distribution (it's not as simple as just dumping it out there, we need a fuckhuge amount of bandwidth). At the very least, it IS safe, anything that MT had is held in a bunch of different locations.
The slowness is mostly sakisan's fault.
>Why so bitter? I don't want to make an IRC channel because I don't believe it justifies it. Occasional /a/ threads are fine. You're more than welcome to go ahead yourself though.
Ocassional /a/ threads are public and kept in the archive.
I would make an irc channel myself but I feel it's better if you get a hold of it yourself so you can just avoid various drama of any kind.
He dared to fall ill is what.
It's still coming along, it's just taking time. Other anons have copies, so even if he went to gensokyo we'd still be able to work something out.
No idea what Woxxy's team are up to, been meaning to get on that.
Meant to post in the buyfag thread, but I'll post here as well.
I can only find some manga as an ebook on Amazon JP. I'm outside of Japan. Is it difficult to buy and rip ebook manga?
I tried to add free manga to my account once, but shit asked me to link a Kindle device to my account. Obvously I don't have one. All you need is some reader you can link to you account and JP proxy. Ripping is easily googlable.
Technically, it isn't his team or site, but I guess it's easier for people to associate a name to it.
All interested parties that are working on it have received a copy of our plans and objectives. While we may be moving at a slow place, I can tell you that we have ongoing development. We just don't think its important to report every single minor thing that's being done.
I've been wondering about that, is there any type of region-lock on Kindle devices or could I use one I bought here? I don't know if the American ones are any different than the Japanese kindles, but if I could purchase ebook manga from Amazon JP I would love to rip it, especially with a lot of older titles and artbooks being re-released.
Confirmation that you guys are still breathing is a good sign at least.
It's in bash, I doubt many people here use GNU/Linux or Cygwin.
I will upload it to pastebin after I'm done with testing and polishing.
>./configure; make; sudo make install
I'm willing to spend my time and effort to help the FTP, why must you insult me?
Former, because filenames are not formatted properly. Though implementing latter shouldn't be hard.
>Well I set it up so googlebot will always get 403 denied a few days ago, so it should be removed soon
Google still collects info from Chrome and chromebook laptop users as to which URLs exist (were visited) at the site. Chrome users granted consent as part of the installation EULA requrements. Google is not run by the original set of people, so their original mantra of "Do No Evil" doesn't apply anymore. The current Google CEO was quoted by Greenwald as saying that if you feel you need privacy, then perhaps you should stop doing questionable things.
Your cool and hip script which is totally haven't been done before has nothing to do with helping FTP, any retard could do it. It was especially laughable when you asked us what do we want ripped from mangapark.
>I'm willing to spend my time and effort to help the FTP, why must you insult me?
Not that guy, but there are lots of people who are deliberately ungrateful. Now you know how scanlators feel to a very small degree. Multiply and intensify the insults and attacks and you'll get closer to what it is like and why some scanlators lose interest in helping others.
>stop looking at mangatraders threads for like 3 weeks
>come back and there's a password
>muh sekrit club when MT was clearly overrun by normalfags etc
Too much hassle, time to go back to share and pd.
> bitching and posting shitty overused and obnoxious memes when even the simplest google searches would give you the password, let alone looking into the archive or something like that
Hope this will be a lesson for most people in here to not spoonfeed faggots anymore
If your phone has busybox and any sort of terminal emulator installed then it should work.
>cool and hip script which is totally haven't been done before
Learn to read, asshole. I never said that and I don't understand why you are so buttblasted about the whole thing.
>has nothing to do with helping FTP
I've uploaded more than 20 gigabytes of various content to the FTP as well as fulfilled multiple requests. And almost all of the uploaded content was harvested by various scripts of mine, so I guess it IS of help to the FTP.
Now why don't you do something useful instead of insulting people on the internet, tough guy?
I've uploaded the rest of Liar Game. Also, this site has officially spread to Twitter.
No user/pass for the FTP.
Either busybox or working chroot jail with GNU are necessary, so I'm afraid that's not possible if you don't have root.
>does your script convert the chapters into zip/rar/cbz/CBR
That is a trivial task, but not possible without Busybox or GNU.
I think admin-kun initially wanted this to be a temporary replacement for mangatraders, but didn't expect this shit to blow so high. I wouldn't be surprised if he closes the thing in a couple of days.
So we set up an IRC interview during which you have to mention /a/ to pass and if you pass, you are given a randomized single-use 64-bit string tied to the IP address specified in the interview to send as a POST request using a custom user-agent via cURL to receive a cookie which to browse the site with?
Admin-kun seems to be alright with handling it otherwise he wouldn't be trying to improve it, only problem being publicity which could get him in trouble, which is one of the reasons the sadpanda section isn't visible.
Anyone interested in Ojojojo? im about to upload it.
Uploaded Keyman, thankfully Habanero Scans is nice enough to have already uploaded with the preferred layout.
Oh anon, you know how to press my buttons.
So now that we're on autosage, please guys.
How can you check the new password when admin changes it in the READ.txt if you first have to enter it?
I'm honestly too retarded to know how to even access the ftp through FileZilla. What do I type in the port? What do I do after that?
I love you.
You know what I meant. Also see >>110566357
