Why is /a/ so butthurt about MT going down? You know there are torrent sites like bakabt that can easily replace it, right? Just download Deluge and start torrenting
>>
>>108686563
No one cares about it going down since some anon bought the data, it's the information that was hacked that made everyone go bonkers.
>>
>>108686619

Before that, there were tons of people trying to download the whole library. Where did said data go?
>>
Scanlations are disappearing from the internet anyway
>>
Daily reminder that Daiz killed MT and stole the donation.
>>
direct downloads have higher quality than manga streaming sites run by sleazy admins whose main priority is maximizing their ad revenue from Google

for manga you don't care about, like Bleach, using pandamanga site is fine. But you wouldn't use a shitty streaming site that resizes and resamples and degrades visual quality down on a manga like Berserk or Blame! or what have you, would you?
>>
>>108686941
MangaTraders has neither of those because muh licensing.
>>
It bothers me because it was my go-to place for downloading releases from groups that only post on reader sites/irc.
>>108686563
>You know there are torrent sites like bakabt that can easily replace it, right? Just download Deluge and start torrenting
If you only read completed manga, sure. Also Deluge is a shit client.
>>
MT did a great job at hosting loads of manga that isn't actually available in other places, for instance when a scanlator's site no longer exists or when their files are fucked for some reason. Their volume batches are also nice sometimes.

MT is valuable tool in the toolbox.
>>
>>108686977
Oh yea? what do you use?
>>
>>108687108
Kazaa.
>>
>>108686563
Good luck finding seeders for old or unpopular stuff.
>>
>>108686563
Speaking of Deluge, how come this client can't read letters other than the standard alphabet? I can't download anything japanese nor I can't download Love Live shits because theres a letter "µ" in the filename.
>>
>>108687185
When that happens I just save the torrent file and open it manually, then it works.
>>
>>108687108
After new versions of uTorrent turned to shit, I tried both Deluge and Transmission for a couple months each, but they both suck so in the end I just went back to uTorrent 2.2.1
>>
Is there anything wrong with qBit?
>>
>>108687461
No.
>>
>>108686977
XDCC is fine but some don't have it.

It grips my asshole who some people only upload to readersites. MT was indeed useful in those situations, even if you had to wait a while.
>>
>>108687461
if you support entropy, yes.
>>
>>108687461
I would change to it, if I could import my torrents from utorrent through resume.dat. Real shame it can't.
>>
>>108687162
And good luck finding torrents for stuff that wasn't even finished scanlating.
>>
I could count on the fingers of my hands the number of times I've been on MangaTraders, but I was grateful for its existence every time I went there. It's quite sad, it was a place where I knew they had what I was looking for.

>>108686619
I hope that's true. I hope someone backed everything up. And I hope that said someone creates an FTP server.
>>
Bakabt doesn't have much that's newer/unfinished.
Mangatraders was always great for series with shitty secret club scanlators who only give download links to their livejournal friends too.
>>
>>108686758
Where are they going to? Hyperinternet?

BakaBT has uncompleted manga available like One Piece and Berserk, they update when entire volumes are completed.
>>

No, they update whenever an "arc" finishes, and their definition is a bit loose.

Shorter series don't get partial releases at all.

I was in #tradersnetwork at the time.
~$900 was the lost paypal donations.
$900 was for the upcoming payment on the 14th.
A lot of silliness and drama ensued because of someone from /pol/ trolling the channel.

In the end, Blue agreed to let Wilik (Aftershock) keep the full amount. Not like he had much choice though.

Some time later, an hour or two I believe, Blue asked for access so that he could download his own copy as well, since Sakisan was already given access.

If you want to see that as paying for the content, ok.
>>
>>108688576

The hack was done on an unsecured development portal that allowed editting the DB directly. It was accessible by just using the folder name for that tool. The hacker got access to the forums that way and somehow ended up with root access.

The great irony here is that /a/'s help fucked the site over harder than it was fucked over by PayPal.

MT may have been able to get enough bitcoin donations to pay running costs without /a/. After all, they've been working off donations in the pass as well.

But /a/ got involved. And they formed an archiving project. And a jackass in the archiving project decided to create himself an admin user through SQL injection. And then the jackass decided to post the entire DB to "help" the project. And then other jackass decided to scrape it for passwords.

That's out of my ability to answer for now. I'm not the one with the ability to host anything. The MT Admin confirmed that MangaTraders utilized 110 Terabytes of Download Bandwidth a month. Someone might be able to handle such a thing. Mind you, once this torrent goes out, people with such capabilities will want to get their hands on everything. So the faster our team can finish everything and get it all out, the sooner the rest of the internet can come out with their own solutions to this problem.

I dislike plenty: easygoing scans, village idiot, and most of all kisu kiss manga (not to be confused with KISS manga) are all at the top of my list for picking up dozens of new series every month and thinking for some reason they own or have a claim on "their project" while they take months between releases with a fucked up series prioritization system where great series are queued for FOTM/shit.

Kisu is probably the worst group that is still alive though and instead of just annoying me like the other two is pure cancer for the manga scene. The series are not great, and they have released version 6 of some of the chapters, but check out the versions by Kisu and other group for All You Need is Kill and the Accelerator manga. Yes, they are so bad another group chooses to take over series they do.

Don't be retarded, you can only "reverse" an MD5 hash by bruteforcing. GPU's can do billions per second so any widely used password pattern will get cracked very quickly, thanks to all the plaintext password leaks we've gotten.

But if your password is a random string of 20+ characters then it isn't going to be reversed anytime soon.

Scanlators are too full of themselves to let you autodownload chapters without making you visit their site somehow.

Some do have direct ftp downloads, that's always nice.
>>
>>108713178
How could a web site make enough money to survive by doing this? People would not need to visit it at all.

It would be very easy to make this, a site with rss and magnet urls for torrents. But if I were to create this, it would need to pay for itself at least.
>>
>>108713507

The thing about torrents is you can have a seedbox "server", but users can contribute to bandwidth. Also you can update a series' (or a master "MT") torrent, and while it would be a new torrent file you do not need to redownload the earlier chapters to seed them.

Sure, but why not just read on Kissmanga? This attitude is what hurts scanlations as a whole because even people that download fansubs just fine simply go to Mangafox. You’re scanlator and your release gets 20 downloads at most? Well why do you think it’s like that?

>bakaBT does complete sets only
>No, they update whenever an "arc" finishes, and their definition is a bit loose

BakaBT allows incomplete sets provided that it is a long series that cannot be completed in a year from the current date you are considering to upload. That is the loose criteria from the jury process. Anything less than a year, and you'll see the jury review tell you to wait until it is done. Besides, that allows the scanlators and their affiliated sites the courtesy of distributing their stuff the way they want.

In the distant past, there were irate people on 4chan or other forums that said boxtorrents/BakaBT should hand the site over to others to run so that the retarded policy of complete sets can be eliminated (no more long delays). Those "fans" weren't really fans but mere anime/manga consumers using logic such as "I claim I can spend your money faster than you can, so you must hand over control of all your money to me even though you were the one that did the work."

>Sending fake C&D notices to their competition causing them all to get shut down.

That's false. You are just that grudge-holding jerk telling more lies to make batoto look bad. You're the jerk that was in favor of the mainland china-owned mangafox making money by selling the work of scanlators. Batoto for a time used items from scanlators trying to fight mangafox with those watermarks. Some people got ultra angry at batoto for carrying items like that.

Mangafox is also part of a set of companies some of which counterfeit official anime merchandise and then distribute them to anime retail stores. That can make "official logo" merchandise a hit or miss sometimes because that official logo might be fake. But of course, the jerk doesn't care about things like that.

These grudge-holding manga "pseudo fan" on 4chan believes watermark is a crime sincerely (no lie, absolute true) worse than putting mass quantities people into ovens in real-life and killing them. At least some of their past rant threads against batoto seemed full of extreme anger and full of anger-management issues.

I was also thinking the person you quoted is a Batoto mod too, but on sites like batoto you have certain fags who for some reason are zealous in defense of "their" site.. He sure went off on some funny tangents though.

I was told that the admins of Batoto do not truly care about the H stuff and if it were up to them they would leave it. Although I'm not familiar with how Python handles on Windows, that should be right. You can add the Batoto/KissManaga URL at the end of the query as well. If you omit it, it will prompt you for it.
>>
>>108718065
So i added this in the end?
-s "ch num" -e " ch num" "series URL "
>>
I don't see why this is such huge news. There are tons of manga sites on the net. What's so special about this one going down?
>>
>>108718103
Because it's literally the only real DDL one.
>>
>>108718096
-s and -e are optional. It's only if you want to download some chapters in a series.

If you only want to download a single chapter, just use the chapter URL (like http://www.batoto.net/read/_/248256/kantai-collection-kancolle-4-koma-comic-fubuki-ganbarimasu_ch40_by_zombies-ate-my-manga)
>>
>>108718122
Why do you need to download your shit?

>>
>>108718153
Because they aren't on any readers? They're only on compressed readers? Because I read faster than the servers load even with a caching script? Because it's more comfortable to read on my desktop reader? Screw reading several thousand pages online.
>>
>>108717808
Chapter 9 is before anything else for some reason, you should fix that.
>>
>>108718153
>not archiving everything you read or watch
>>
>>108718137
Got it.
Will this be easier on another is like Ubuntu or Linux mint?
>>
>>108718182
I DL my anime. Comparing manga scans to 1080p BD is completely different. Why the fuck do I need scans that are blown up 1000x a readable size? I'm not saying it's stupid to DL manga or something, I'm saying I don't see why people are flipping shit over it.
>>
>>108717984

Yes, but if the pages before the spread aren't even, they will be fucked up.
>>
>>108718210
Not sure I can explain that one. I'd really hope they were repacked at some point. Preferably into volumes.
>>
>>108718225
I think both of those come with Python3, so you don't have to install it separately.
>>
>>108718175
You can't miss what you never had, right?

Most of the people steaming must be very young and not unknowing of the series released by groups long gone and what would have been their files too.
>>
>>108718279
I fixed it, it's just that there was a zip inside the zip with its original filename, which makes it go before the rest of the stuff.

What the godamn fuck?
>>
>>108718323
It's all your fault. This wouldn't have happened if you would've stayed. You could've prevented this!
>>
>>108718312
Ah right. I don't even remember doing that. I just zipped up my folder. I'll reupload it after I get the rest of Coppelion up.

How the fuck is MT dead when sites like Mangafox, panda, eden, etc. still live?

I am so livid with you right now, anonymous.

This is why we can't have nice things! Why can't you just be a good little girl for me? Huh? Why do I constantly have to beat you?

You did this to yourself!
>>
>>108718371
Mangafox is actually dead. Their site no longer displays most of their main series in the US or something?
>>
>>108718371
It's dead because the admins want it dead, not because of lack of community support.
>>
>>108718305
So I run this in the terminal?
Python "file location"pip.py
Then
Pip install bs4
Then
Python "file location" manger.py
Then
Batoto "series URL"
Is this right?
>>
>>108718403
Why don't they close it down then
>>
>>108718403
Mangahere is fairly current.
>>
What should I use now to know when something I'm interested in was scanslated?
I'm too lazy to go through individual sites.
>>
>>108718403
I think it's admin, not admins. Some of the other guys literally slept through it.
>>
>>108718420
Are we still talking about Ubuntu? Because there is an easy way to install pip on Ubuntu.

http://ask.xmodulo.com/install-pip-linux.html

Then you can use pip install beautifulsoup4 to install bs4.

After you have beautifulsoup4 installed, you can just use "python path/to/manager.py URL".

'batoto' command is just an alias I created for myself.

alias batoto='python3 ~/Programming/batotocrawler/Manager.py'

http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/aliases.html
>>
>>108718225
>>108718470
Why this complication with pip, just do
sudo apt-get install python-bs4 python3
>>
>>108718470
So my command in the terminal without an alias would be like this
Python "file location"manger.py "series URL"
And there will be a zip file of the series saved in the same location of the script?
>>
>>108718780
There will be a zip file for each chapter in the directory you ran the script in.

Yes, almost always. OS X is also a much better system than Windows to do that stuff, you’ll just run into [wasn’t tested on OS X] fairly often when you’re doing obscure stuff.

Thanks man. Any chance you could do the missing chapters of Is this Girl for Real!?

Scanlations go upto 29 and the Horriblescans have 36-39 so we're missing 30-35.
