any good books or videos on how to model landscapes? Pic related is something I really want to learn how to accomplish but I have like zero idea how to go about the work flow for something like this.
lern zbrush
get rock alpha brushes
do sum randumb rocks
bake it to lowpoly
done
I think blender guru made a video on how to do a cliff or something like that, he got something like that pic.
Even if you are not on blender the video will teach you the workflow.

We fallout new vegas now
but seriously, this tutorial taught me a shit ton. Obviously pic related doesn't look good, but I'm going to work on improving it tonight.
I'm not too sure how I'll go from what he teaches in the tutorial to the pic in the OP though.
I feel like the canyon in the pic in the OP is a lot more artistically crafted, where as what he teaches is procedural.

It's usually 50/50. You'll build your basic shape, use procedural methods to get you to somewhere within the "looks realistic" ballpark, then trim and massage until things look good.

This is for a simple stylized asset for this game.
>3ds max
>blockout
>port zbrush
>dynamesh and do my thing
>finish dynamesh, ctrl+d, add details
>done
