If you read French and Latin, it's stellar. I think a good chunk if it is represented in translated form by the diligent work of the anon who reformed my Alchemy folder.

Alchemy in terms of practice and contemplative methods may not be the best for beginners.

If you've got the access to the correct tools, go wild tho.

What kind of altered states of mind have you reached through meditation?
I ask because I was repeating "Lord, God have mercy on me, the sinner." as a mantra and my sense of self began to-quite literally, expand infinitely. I have done this before but this time it reached near-psychedelic levels, so much so that I feared for myself (ego self, not well-being self) and I had to break my concentration.

Hey Ape,

I'm about to take my saivism to the next level. Here are the first few things I'm going to read, please let me know if they're in a good order, and where to go afterwards.

Kaulajnananirnaya
Kularnava
Tantrasara
Santarasa
Shiva Sutras
Paratrisikavivrana

Stick Highest Trident of Nondualism (Paratrishika) between Tantrasara and Santarasa.

Much appreciation. This will give me a lot to study. Are there any other tantras or related reads worth sticking in there before scaling the mountain that is Tantraloka?

You are incorrect assuming series of disconnected traditions which at first sight might superficially resemble each other, have any connection whatsoever to each other.

>It seems like a lot of them employ the same practices and theories

No they don´t
>>
>>19146204
Ok. i get that
I just felt that a lot of these beliefs talk about the same kind of energy, breathing techniques and healing techniques.
If you could in any way link me to something or just tell me why exactly they are not connected that would be great. Not saying you are wrong but i am very interested on a neutral basis

They are the results of different methodologies of studying the superspectrum, so you're more or less correct.

Could any of the practitioners in here give a brief overview of the methods they personally use, and find to be effective?
I'm just curious, and would like to read some 'day in the life' sort of accounts.
>>
What is the cheapest physical copy of the Tantraloka?
>>
>>19147423
Cheapest is probably some Sanskrit edition.

Cheapest English edition is the one I scanned and posted, it's 300 dollars. Given it's a ten volume set, that's comparatively cheap.

I get up.
I worship the sun and banish.
Sometimes I do yoga.
I make some coffee.
I go to work/campus.
I worship the sun.
Sometimes I do yoga.
I continue to work/go to class.
I worship the sun.
I get home and begin study.
I worship Draco.
I work any big/seasonal/special interest rites.
Sometimes I do yoga.
I banish.
I worship the sun.
I go to bed.

That's essentially my ritual schedule. It varies. The most variant portion is the "big" bit, which is like maybe Lemegeton I've been prepping for, or Enochian, or Puja, or Sabbatick Craft, or Sadhana. Just depends on what's on my schedule.

There was years ago this site, too bad I cannot recall the name. It was something like occulus.us or similar to that.

They had extremely extensive library on the site, very similar to Ape´s. Kenneth Grant, Crowleyana etc.

One book I really miss from that site was "The Unknown God: W.T. Smith and the Thelemites by Martin P. Starr"

would greatly appreciate it if someone has the pdf. Great piece of Thelemic history and would be a great addition to the libri.
>>

If i am correct in saying that "satanism" has been created by abrahamic religions to make pagan religions look bad, I really cannot get myself to believe that the aesthetics of satanism (the one that is based on its roots and not on sacrificing children and similar) come from its roots.
Could anyone link me to some reading material that compares satanism and the pagan religions or how abrahamic religions created this false image? I haven't been able to find anything other than "God lied about Satan"
>>
>>19150327
Traditional Satanism, as espoused by groups such as the ONA worship dark entities that far predates Christianity. It is not simply vilified paganism.

In other thread (now deleted) and anon told me I was shitposting because I said that the Abramelin Working consist in 18 months of prayers, purification, binding demons to your will, and then some weeks of rituals to attaining K&C of your HGA, and then a life working with him.

Did I missunderstood the whole working? Or people still believes that the whole work is just 6 months and once you meet your angel you can stop the inevitable?
>>
>>19150872

Yes, you misunderstood it. You're done when you're done, and that means it can take up to 18 months. It's clear you've no actual experience with it, which is likely why they called shitposting on you. Say no to armchair wizarding.
>>
>>19150920
>You're done when you're done, and that means it can take up to 18 months.

The purification and the other stuff takes 18 months, or so says the book. The ritual for K&C is a seven day ritual, and after that the whole work doesn't end in a sense that once you meet your angel there is no way back, you keep working or you are going to fail bad.

There is no 18 months or less time, the book says it clearly, 18 months.

>armchair magician
I never called myself a magician. And btw I doub anyone in this board performed this work at all, but there are the books, and articles, and people can make an understanding and opinion based on it.

The only one i know that perfomed it was Crowley and he never finished it, maybe because he was working based on Mathers translation which is wrong.

Question, wizards: I've been trying to incorporate dancing as a way to raise energy during ritual (yeah I'm a faggot) and I've noticed that the three times I've done that in the context of a planetary working (venus, jupiter and sun especifically) it has resulted in a night of insomnia. This doesn't happen if I do the energy raising with other methods.
I do LBRP + GRH before and palo santo the fuck out of the space afterwards, so I'm not really sure what's going on
>>
>>19143100
>elf began to-quite literally, expand infinitely
I've had that happen, it's pretty common, nothing to be scared of

>>19151123
if you're doing it before bed, could just be that you're getting your heart rate up

http://notionclubpapers.blogspot.ca/2012/07/a-companion-to-jrr-tolkiens-notion-club.html

thought y'all might be interested in reading that Tolkien induced shamanic trances to recieve writing inspiration, communicated with spirits and practiced lucid dreaming, likely in part to travel to "the sphere of the moon and beyond"
>>
>>19150443
No, it just gives them more access to influence you through your choice of interaction which builds a connection that can be exploited to cause gradual changes in your persona. More if you openly evoke them.
Hence why you be choosy about what entities in lucid-dreamstate meditation you want to make bonds with.
>>
Been seeing that a lot of these religions/beliefs contain chakras/breathing/energy
My question is: Would any religion be better/worse for practicing these and/or where is the best place to start out?
>>
>>19148250
Yes, the fuck is often shitposting here, or at least, was, not long ago. Very much pushy and insistent upon his views being the correct ones. Reminds me of styxhex, from everything I have seen and heard from both of them. Hell, styxhex was defending himself in a thread the other day, but posing as a fan. All because I was razzing him for not looking like he practiced anything he preached and not understanding the inherent value of yoga.
>>
>>19151123
Don't invoke planetary energies before bed it will just keep you awake, except for Saturn, and even then I would only do that for particular reasons
>>
>>19151292
The various systems of yoga/Eatern tradition, as that's where the concept of Chakras seems to have originated...The Vedas and Upanishads, in particular, have a lot to say on the discipline(s) of yoga.

So yeah, go to the source, because there is a lot of New Age woo-woo about "just focus on this area while sitting quietly" type of things. Which is not to say that sort of meditation is NOT beneficial, but it generally doesn't do anywhere near what they promise, but a bunch of people who follow it believe it does anyway, so we end up with a bunch of pseudo-enlightened individuals who claim to have had a Kundalini Awakening because They did a few asanas, or, my personal favorite, a bunch of loons who claim to have "opened their third eye" because they did the Bhrumadhye drsti a few times.
>>
>>19151323
Since it seems like you are pretty advanced in terms of the occult practice.
May i ask how you started out and how long you have been doing it?
>>
>>19151323
>>19151232
Didnt do it before bed, did it around midday :(
>>
>>19151123
If you are referring to GBRH, are you only hitting the planet related to the working? If so, you could try to hit the planets individually, or just follow your GBRH with LBRH, perhaps. Nothing "faggot"-y about incorporating dance in ritual. The technique, I daresay, is as old as ritual itself.

I'm still trying to work out what, exactly, the "Spiral Banishing Dance" and "Spiral Invoking Dance" are.
>>
>>19151348
Be sure to banish shortly before bed, as well. I usually do my banishings around solar midnight, after performing Liber Resh. Sometimes I do invoke before bed, for different reasons, and have noticed an interesting correlation between what invocation(s) I do and how well or poorly I sleep, what kind of dreams I have, even down to the 'subject" of the dreams.
>>
>>19151341
Thanks i will look into it.
Just seems so overwhelming finding all these different beliefs and their practices and reading people already being advanced but never hearing about the road there.
>>
Pardon guys, I've been spending time looking up the provenance of that Gunther edition of ThROA that dude posted in the other thread.
>>
>>19151022
Different translations give different time frames. I've heard everything from 6 to 18 months. It is clear that it *can* be performed in about 6 months, though. Also, once one attains the K&C, it is meant to be maintained, I *believe* throughout the rest of one's life. It *may* change after one crosses the abyss, but that's just me speculating and, in fact, from what I read, I don't think that's the case. That speculation comes from the fact that one has to be willing to shed all their attainments to successfully Cross, but that's probably just me misunderstanding exactly how one does that.
>>
>>19151376
You can see "Hatha Yoga Pradapika" or "Raja-Yoga" for sort of "manuals"
>>
>>19151386
What's your conclusion?
>>
>>19151407
>>19150734

My conclusion is that Gunther has zero access to an "original" form of ThROA because he appears to cite the Kowal Typescript (the version of the ritual in my library) constantly.
>>
To the anon in last thread asking about using 777: I don't know if you're doing it right. I would have to check Liber O again, but the planet of the entity should *not* be on a different row from the entity itself AFAIK. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

To the anon asking if the Star Ruby was "LBRP in poorly translated Greek:" Have you even read the script? It IS greeak and English. The English parts are in proper English, and the Greek parts are in proper Greek. And it also functions differently. But we can see you really studied it hard before coming to a conclusion on it.
>>
>>19151423
Oh? Wait... so that means the copy you have is *also* not the original? Or am I missing something? Sorry, I'm not incredibly familiar with the rite.
>>
>>19151434
The Kowal Typescript is all we have. No other original form of the ritual has survived. This is clear as the typescript in my library is the only source Gunther is using for the ritual. References it in the pages that were posted. Makes me wonder if there is a reproduction in the book, or if Gunther has redacted the various handwritten notes that go along with it.
>>
>>19151346
I started like 5-6 years ago initially as an armchair reader of books and then I really got into it. I wouldn't say I am "advanced" necessarily, I still have problems with discipline and consistency, but I'm not a noob anymore. What else do you want to know?
>>
When you guys do the GRH, do you usually recite some kind of invocation/conjuration before and after (e.g. Before- 'One is Thy beginning, one is thy spirit, thy permutation is one! Thous hast...thou didst...etc.' After- 'O, Come... I call on thee.. Thou art.. etc'.) ? Or do you just analyse the keyword and go about it like the LRH? The former is my M.O. and it has been quite potent thus far.

Also, in another thread, we were talking about how, because of where the LBRP puts one on the Tree, it supposedly has potential to make Lemegeton work less effective...So: doesn't that imply that using Bornless One as a Preliminary Invocation could have the same effect, considering the integration of the Pentagram ritual? Or is it different because it's the GRP as opposed to LRP? Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

I'm missing something here. I thought the hexagram rituals were planet independent.

Also, if it helps, I've heard of tribal dancing consisting of simply spinning clock wise or counter clockwise to invoke spirits. There's remnants of that kind of stuff in a lot of carnaval traditions, and folk superstitions.

The biggest problem in my personal feelies is the sexualization of nudity. I don't mean just some guy seeing a beautiful painting of a naked woman and popping a boner, although it could be argued he does not have his priorities in order. But rather, the banning of public nudity, even at places such as the beach where people wear very little clothing anyway. This whole "put your clothes back on because there are kids around" needs to stop. It creates a whole cycle of repression and compulsion in many cases, and it's absolutely absurd. What makes a woman's nipples more 'offensive' than a man's? Or why is it wrong for a kid to see some stranger's bare ass at the beach, but it's ok to see their own? How about witnessing the phallic nature of the arm of an amputee? Must we now force amputees to cover up their afflicted limbs? Should we now implement laws to prevent children from being exposed to such an egregiously offensive thing as their own bodies? How far must the insanity go?

Now, this is not to advocate for nobody ever wearing clothes, although if that's their personal choice, there is nothing wrong with it, excepting perhaps if the individual is an exhibitionist and is only doing it to get sexual kicks...but even then, trying to prevent that would be to play the thought police. What are the thoughts of other anons on this matter? I'm truly interested. Never thought I would post a thing like this here, but the anon really got me thinking.

I have heard a lot of things about meditation, crazy things

I now believe that it is the first step into this, for I have to focus.

Can I have any good tip to start doing it? maybe techniques or what to think while I close my eyes.
What about the perfect daytime to do this?

Thanks
>>
>>19151711
Best beginner technique is typically to focus on your breath in lotus posture. you can do the fourfold breath, or some sort of other pranayama cycle either self-devised or from the texts.
>>
>>19151718
The focusing on the breath is one of the easier ways of blocking out other thoughts. As unwilled thoughts arise, neither focus on them nor ignore them, but acknowledge them and let them go. Some people imagine themselves to be seated near a stream, river, or sea, and as these thoughts arise, visualize them either as a symbol representing the entirety of the thought or, a bit easier, picture the thought being sealed into an envelope and being carried into the water by the wind, and carried downstream or out to sea by the water. You can experiment with this to find what suits you best, for now. You can even picture a fire instead of water, but that may be more distracting. The point is, get creative and find which method helps you ease your mind the most. The ultimate goal of this sort of meditation is to achieve a state of no-thought.

In symphonic silence

In exstasis becoming
In quickness of breath

Unfolds for the Flame
The lips of the seeker
Then utter the Name

The Chaos will part
As Wisdom then folds
The thunder casts forth
A Stone in the wolds

By midnight, by cunning

By torment & toil
By timber, by clay

An Urn for the fathers
An Urn for the sons
A Snake for the Heart
And the Wytchblood that runs

Black salts of death
White salts of life
Elixirs of poison
Panaceas of strife

These powders projected
Call forth the stone
In the cauldron collected
Beyond all that is known

Six times thou art cleave'd
Six faces are hewn
Six axes in tracing

SUMMONING UNTO THE RITE OF THE FALLEN STONE:

Oh mothers, oh fathers, before you I lay,
I’ve wandered Exiled one year and a day,
Returned to the field of bone, blood, and grain,
Returned to the spot where my Brother was slain,
And unto the hill where his Dolmen was raised.
His fat on the pyres while Thy names I praised.

Oh hear me, now fear me, the golem you wrought,
Honed by perpetually tilling this plot,
Trained in the arts of enchantment of thought,
Tempered in blood, from the forge I was dropped,
Like your prey, like a fly in your web I was caught,
Endlessly tracing the beauty I sought,

Within and beyond, without and between,
The myriads of spheres and the songs that they sing,
The letters, and sigils, the hems and the seams,
The glimpses, the tastes, in the fevers of dream,
The tail and the teeth; the column and beam,
The fable, the myth, the theory, the theme.

Hearken all ye Masters who wrested the prize,
Three times, gnosis snatched, from the Dragon’s cold eyes,

Hearken all ye Faithful who flew from the snare,
The noose on the path, from the Dragon’s bold stare,

Hearken all ye Blooded who gather this peak,
Who whisper the chants, from the Dragon’s told beak,

Hearken all ye Shades, cast forth from within,
Who feast on the shedding of the Dragon’s dropped skin,

Summoned art thou, to the foundation stones
The very grave of the sun
And the mysterium of Zha.

An omphalos is an ancient religious stone artifact, or baetylus. In Greek, the word omphalos means "navel". According to the ancient Greeks, Zeus sent out two eagles to fly across the world to meet at its center, the "navel" of the world. Omphalos stones used to denote this point were erected in several areas surrounding the Mediterranean Sea; the most famous of those was at the oracle in Delphi.

You use meteoric iron to fuck with stellar energies.

>This was once the molten heart of a planetoid.
>It was cast down unto your waiting hands as a reminder of the cosmic birth and dissolution processes to which our lives and magicks are insignificant in comparison

It is believed that Tibetans have an ancient tradition of using meteoric iron for ritual Phurbas, however, very few genuine pieces have survived or are known to exist. There is also mention of Guru Rinpoche or Yeshe Tsogyal concealing meteoric ritual supports as terma and a number have been re-discovered over the centuries. The immense power of a meteorite when it falls to earth is so destructive and awesome in nature, that it is easy to see why 'sky metal' is such a sought after material for ritual weapons.

And upon a map of the stars shalt thou draw the sigil of that name; and because also some of the letters are alike, thou shalt know that the stars also have tribes and nations. Did those conversations get anywhere? I suspect strongly that the occultism of the future will be a synthesis of those currents, especially considering that the Ku Sebbitu (sp) seems to have spent a lot of time synthesizing currents

yes, and if people are offended by a erect penis then they need to remember that this is natural

on the other hand nudity will bring whole body to truth and in the process people will pay more attention to there body then to expensive cloths
overall health for population

people are brainwashed in to hiding there bodies and buying more expensive cloths to do so

i read this in some science genreal that bring nude increase blood flow across body and thus more beautifull skin and healthy organ , wearing tight cloths restricts blood flow , also vitramin D with exposure to sunlight

i see why God dont wanted adam and eve to wear cloths ..

What was HR Giger's relationship with the occult?
Was he a practitioner or just interested in the symbols and history?

Parareligion has an anecdote about him performing rituals with the Swiss OTO but says he didn't continue working with them.
Is there any more about him and his beliefs?

>Winner of an Oscar for his literally visceral designs for the film Alien (offal from an abbatoir was used in the special effects), the artist Hansruedi (H.R.) Giger was contacted in 1977 by Ulla von Bernus, a selfstyled priestess of Satan, who along with her girlfriend and Giger made a trip to Stein, staying overnight. Frau von Bernus, according to Giger (once he had made his mind up about her) had "come hence thence" with the intention of celebrating a great many magical rituals. Giger had gone in the hope of finding drawings by Crowley, but in vain; he came away from Stein with just a bottle of the 'Swedish Elixir of Life', and a dust-jacket from one of Gustav Meyrink's books — later lost, which was "very distressing" for him. After the visit to Stein, Frau Bernus and Herr Giger were the guests of Oscar Schlag, who impressed them both very much.
>In Giger's opinion, Fräulein Aeschbach and Metzger were perfectly pleasant and harmless. Nevertheless, he wanted nothing more to do with either Frau von Bernus, or with Stein; to him they seemed "so comical and so 'heavy'." [72]

Anyone has experienced good things with sigils? Or anything at all? The sigil thread is very silly.
>>
>>19154493
Yes, plenty. Even the whole "jack off and/or bleed" on them method *will* work, but it's generally better to at least stylize some small ritual for charging, or better yet incorporate into another ritual, or evoke/bind an entity to it, etc. They can be great. This Thelemite has personally combined all of the aforementioned methods, at some point or another within the past 2 months, with folk magic as smaller parts of a larger operation. So far, so good.
>>
>>19154719
What you used them for?
>>
>>19154741
Not willing to talk about the current operation, but in the past, a desperate need for money led me to create a fairly simple sigil, on paper, even, a few times, and every time it worked. There was no windfall or anything, but basically just a few dollars more than I needed to get me thru to my next paycheck. Fairly mundane stuff.

Sure. What's the deal with the Etheric-vs-astral plane? This anon has heard both that they are the same, and that they are different. "Etheric plane" and "etheric body/projection" seem to have come from Theosophy? Is there a difference, or where could one look to educate themselves more about such a topic?
>>
>>19155349
>Etheric-vs-astral plane
Mostly memes derived from poor understandings of new age doctrines combined with too much D&D cosmology.

In my own little headcanon, it's all "astral". There's a "near astral" that covers things like Remote Viewing, etc., and "far astral" which covers things like spheres and paths on the tree or other spiritual spaces (Pure Land, etc.).
>>
>>19155365
Thanks. that makes sense. that was kinda the impression it made on me. like, when one is scrying the tatwas, they are working with aspects of the astral, and considering how the "etheric plane" is sometimes described as corresponding to the akasa, it seemed to me that this was about how it worked.

Do you consider the 'mental plane' a separate thing, though?
>>
>>19155382
Not really. Usually goes into my category of "far astral" unless you're doing something like art of memory or any other loci based visualization practice.

If it has anything to do whatsoever with "irl" space, I categorize it as "near".

Think of it as "Nature vs. Nurture." That's me! So, since the thread is slow af, here's something:
Last night, my training in Liber ThIShARB began in earnest. After my yoga session, about the last hour or so before bed, this Thelemite began working various aspects of the handwriting portion, including those designed "by his own ingenium."

Well, it seems to have begun the gears turning backward, so to speak, because my dreams were almost entirely comprised of a very early part of my life which has not entered my dreams for likely more than a decade. Obviously, there is no plan to call the beginning the end, but has anyone else experienced this as a result of ThIShARB? Or is it more likely a coincidence? Thanks.

So how do you read those books in the library?
Do you print them out and read like normal books, or do you read them on your PC?
Also any special recommendation on what to read in the beginners folder?
>>
>>19156468
Either or, according to your preference. Several have printed them. It can be tedious to read on a computer, but some prefer it. In the beginner's folder, you can google the titles and see where your fancy takes you. Or read them all in the order in which they appear. Or a random order. Or...&c.
>>
>>19156446
Not directly as in dream. It takes just a tiny bit of discipline to start running your shit backward, though. May I recommend a ThIShARB 'mircopractice'. Do an hour of yoga then write your record in painstaking detail by running the event backward. Your memory will ABSOLUTELY improve.

Generally what I'll do is a half cheat since you're already clipping for convenience and experimentation.

Start at the bottom of the page with the most recent time (59 mins 50 seconds) then go back until you hit T -0.

This a mental yogic variant leading toward facilitation of the Big Work of self-regression (which is really fucking dangerous and I do not recommend without someone checking your work...you don't wanna wind up like Bardon and/or every wiccan girl who was cleopatra or boudica).
>>
>>19156433

>>19156514
>Start at the bottom of the page with the most recent time (59 mins 50 seconds) then go back until you hit T -0.
That way, though you started at the bottom and worked backward toward the top, it still appears on paper as a neat and detaied yogic/ritual record.
>>
>>19156514
So, just write it with my right (strong) hand, from the bottom right to the top left, so that when it's done it appears as though it was written normally left to right, top to bottom?

Also, what happened to Bardon in this respect? Is the danger of self-regression a form of megalomania?

This whole (western) past-lives farce started with 19th century Theosophy.

René Guénon covers a huge chunk of this in "Theosophy: History of a Pseudo-Religion"

Not only did the Theosophists invent fantastic narratives for their past lives, they also grossly misinterpreted the Eastern ideas of reincarnation.

The (western) idea of reincarnation is that the (person) itself reincarnates, which is quite frankly, metaphysically impossible and in the systems that talk of reincarnation, there is no human, personal element that could subsist through death/bardo.

What I can agree with: human may identify with a certain force during his lifetime. This force itself is impersonal, it exists with or without the human who is just an instrument of that force. Ultimately, if he succeeds, he becomes that force for he channels it and nothing more. He/She may identify with that force countless times regardless of his present condition. ie.
