The Book of Daniels speaks a bit about angels. I believe there are 7 major angels standing before God. Angels are very real beings.

If I am not mistaken each nation or each culture has an angel appointed over them by God. This is what I've heard about angels.

Michael is either the "prince" over the Jewish people, or the "prince" over the people "of" God at large; which would be Christians, as well as Jews believing in Jesus.

This scripture is from the New Testament:
