I used to get shit like that when I was little. The furniture in my room would look like it had "faces" or it would be slowly encroaching on me too. It's mostly just a combination of poor night vision and an overactive imagination. You might want to look into if either of your parents have REM sleep disorder or issues with night terrors too.

I get these weird nightmares that wake me up in the middle of the night where even after waking my brain is convinced the nightmare is real. Like in my dream im lying in bed and everything is super realistic (basically feels like im awake) and then some big spiderlike creature scurries into my blankets. I jump out of bed, turn the lights on and just stare at the bed in fear. My brain took a legit 5 minutes to realize that that spider creature wasn't real and I had to search under my bed and bedsheets just to be sure. The thing that fucks with me the most is that I have no divide in my mind from when I was dreaming or woke up. My theory is that these nightmares occur when the rational part of my brain is deactivated so even the ficitonal threats in my dreams are being interpreted as real in the moments after I wake up. Its really scary in the moment though, and I fear that I might one night wake up and do something stupid in irrational panic like run outside in underwear because a dreams got me convinced theres a monster in my room.

It is. Astral has only recently started figuring out wtf an internet is. The universe itself is a neo-platonic computer of sorts, and a computer within a computer creates data management issues. Imagine a computer that is running a virtual machine. Without a special interface, the virtual machine can't propagate information into the computer that is running it. There was a great danger that human beings might imprint their consciousness into machines in a way that became unreadable to astral, but they are figuring out the problem. You can probably expect to see technology that operates on higher principles of physics which are cognizable to astral within the next 20 years or so.

you should check out the urbit project. its based on the concept of a semantic cpu, that is, one built out of logic rather than silicon.
