>As part of an extracurricular lesson, Satoshi and his friends are made to gather the ingredients for "Alola Curry", a traditional Akalan dish. They encounter all kinds of difficulties, but still somehow manage to gather the ingredients. And then a Rarantes shows up and challenges Satoshi to a battle.

I love SM for the fact it's the opposite. If XYZ is about maturity, SM is about the joy of childhood innocence. Its great to see Ash having a vacation with tons of friends. The animation is beautiful to me and I love the art shift since everything looks more lively and energetic.

I have always loved Ash's Pikachu but I feel he lost a lot a charm and personality after the first couple seasons, he became somewhat boring and he stopped having amusing background events and he became a stock mature no goofing off character, the new Sun and Moon anime has him playing with hair, other pokemons tails, begging for food, etc. I love that he has some charm again!

I know people have really complained about the new art style, but it really adds a whole new charm to the show. Even Ash isn't such a dead pan character now either. You can really get a sense of the wonder, and child like playfulness that I remember him having in the original series. It's been a particularly charming series so far in my opinion

When Ash enters a new region and encounters a Pokemon, the first thing he usually does is check it on his pokedex. But in Sun and Moon, he immediately chases after it and wants to catch it. This feels so much more natural.

The old style was pretty much bog standard cheap shounen anime style. At least the new animation makes the anime more unique.

It's an official distinction, and TV Tokyo even has separate websites for XY and XY&Z (and a third one for the Mega specials), but yeah, it doesn't make all THAT much sense.

Probably has to do with the fact that it got marketed as "a crossover between XY and the Mega Evolution series"

Personally what I enjoy most about the S&M series so far is how most episodes are used to develop the characters and their Pokemon and theirs rarely an episode thats not worth watching for some reason, I also like how the Trials seem to be relegated to the B plot considering its obvious that as always Ash will win all of them and then lose at the league at the end, though I must admit their are some episode that I don't enjoy based off how the supporting character aren't very interesting, episodes, 17 & 18, and I would enjoy it if their was more battles just to show how much the Pokemon are progressing on that front.

XYZ was overrated garbage. The Team Flare arc dragged on way too much. Serena's performances and the Master Class were very underwhelming. (Her rivals are shit too.)

The Kalos League was very underwhelming with only two major battles.

People were so distracted by their wishes, which were apparently getting close to being fulfilled in this series, that they let those desires override their judgment.

- "Ash gets a girlfriend": No, Ash doesn't care about Serena that way. It's one-sided and unrequited.

- "Ash will win a Pokemon League for the first time." Anybody with a brain would already know Ash will never win one.

- "Ash has the strongest team he ever had." Yes, Ash's Kalos team was fully evolved except for Pikachu, and I liked that. But except for Greninja, all of those Pokemon were very underwhelming with terrible battle records.

- "Ash's Kalos League battles were impressive." I'd argue that the Hoenn League was superior to the Kalos League.
