I've got enough tokens for 2 boxes worth of packs in PTCGO. I'm also buying an ETB and 4 Lurantis blisters for my Incineroar-GX + Lurantis/Flareon AOR sky field meme deck. Can hit 190 damage for 1 energy without a sky field in play. Requires a shitload of evolutions unfortunately and it'll die in rotation right as some of its best counterplays die.

The PTCGO devs sound and feel like a small group. This is something thats been in place for a while now so they are in upkeep mode, they arnt going to dedicate hresources to change the way the playing area looks.
Especially when doing so can introduce bugs across multiple platforms. so even if they did it, it would be a while before it would be released.Plus companies don't really like getting fan ideas, especially detailed ones, because it potentially puts them in a legal bind if they actually do it.

The main difference here is it's a lot more reliable to be able to get out a stage 1 over a stage 2, trevenant can attack especially with trevenant break, and it's only for your opponent. With this phantump you could reliably get 3 trevs and nothing out turn 1, and charge up a break turn 2.

Incineroar is the good one. You don't need another. One on top of the freebies is enough to beat all the trainer challenges and then you should be getting the fuck out of theme for ever asap. If you've done the Trainer challenges previously then there is no need to be in theme at all.

Tauros-GX in everything. Prepare your anus for item lock and snipe courtesy of Deciduplume. Volcanion as the main counter. Quad Lapras as the counter to the counter (but it's a shit deck desu). Turbo Darkrai, Lurantis Lock, MMewtwo, Umbreon/Zoroark, Houndoom Mill/Gumshoos & occasional fairy decks are the others I see most often, but this will all change when our Trash Overlord returns in a few days time. I'd let the meta settle before you invest too heavily in anything. Just build something quick and easy for now.

there are only so many cards with stats/effects that make them actually usable in competitive play, you can't not netdeck to some degree. I'd say that a GOOD expansion usually gives us one or two 'unexpected' good decks, everything else is obvious from the japanese set list leaks.

Nope. Running a Sycamore based draw engine is very dangerous with garb in the meta. As time goes on people will move away from the classic Ultra Ball > Shaymin > Sycamore > VS Seeker > Sycamore chain. You don't want to be put in a situation where you're discarding the smaller number of item cards you have in your deck without using them, or a situation where you have to either pass or drop a sycamore to get 7 cards.

Though that's unarguably the most efficient form of draw in the format there's actually a punishment for it now. Shaymin is enabled by item cards, if you can't play your hand down you're getting a lot more 1-3 card shaymins and a lot less 4-6 card shaymins. Instead of 15-25 items most decks will be running 8-15 items so each item becomes more valuable. A lot of filler cards like acro bikes and trainers' mail will just die immediately outside t1 item lock/donk decks.

The safer draw engine is Lele/Lillie/N, with Drampa/Hala being options for further investment. VS seeker will probably remain an item all decks run but people will use it a lot more carefully.

This is the same reason Deciduplume didn't make people focus less on items. You'll see a lot of bitching about Garbodor, but no real change in deck structure.

You have to lower the item use against this articular match up. Not every deck can afford a 2-2 line of Garbodor and psychic energy so you can anticipate when your opponent may be playing it and adapt your strategy, not your list.

we see this time and time again throughout the history of the TCG. Vileplume lock didn't hit that mark because it doesn't turn the cards into detriments, just dead draws.

With Garb, if you don't have shuffle support around you have to vs seeker for it or drop a sycamore which will probably discard 1-2 items. Garb only needs 6 items in discard to 2HKO basically everything. If you use AOR eevees he only needs 3. You just can't get resources on the board effectively, using contemporary draw engines, without discarding a lot of items willy nilly.
