A lot of people did watch AG, true. However, you'll find that when most people talk about AG, they pretty much dropped it almost halfway through and came back again during the Battle Frontier.

Regardless, people still love it. It's still, however, not nearly as popular as the 3 series on the left.

But it does explain why May still just slightly beats out Dawn in overall fanart despite Dawn being SEEMINGLY more popular. I honestly think it's pretty even between them.
