Maybe they should be taking into account how long it takes to charge too depending on quick move but it's not wrong for the reason you're saying it's wrong. Let me try and get this straight because I'm legit trying to help /pgg/ here. I want people to not waste their time and effort based on bad information.

These DPS calculations are only for the length of time it takes to 'cast' the move. The imaginary example I gave before should show you why this is completely the wrong way to do it, because a 60 damage 1 bar move that takes 1 second to use is utter garbage even if it technically does 60 DPS (way more than any other charge move) whilst the animation plays.

Let me take a real example for you, Thunder, which really got fucked hard by this update. It apparently has '41.7 DPS', ranking it at number 8 (pretty fucking high), because it does 100 damage over 2.4 seconds. The math is of course correct but extremely misleading. Lets say it takes 12 seconds or so to charge your energy to max. This means Thunder adds 100 damage in 14.4 seconds, adding around 6.9 DPS.

Now, Discharge only appears to get '26 DPS' which looks like trash by comparison because each use of the move only does 65 damage over 2.5 seconds. But factoring in the time taken to reach 100 energy and the fact that you get to use it three times, in reality does 195 damage in 19.5 seconds, adding 10 DPS, significantly more than Thunder.

We've been over this a lot anon, if it has high CP, it's a good Blissey. Blissey doesn't really have any terrible moves although I'd argue you get the least total damage out of psychic in a fight. Either way it's job is simply to sit its fat pink ass as high up in a gym as possible and sap the will to live of anyone who has to fight it.
