You edited the save file without deleting the secured save value is what you did wrong. Delete the secured save value if you have cfw then you can use jksm and it should work without it giving you save data has been corrupted or use savedatafiler if you don't.

Ok i seen this question asked several times here in the past, and I did some homework on it. >>31092296 is right. You need to delete the secure value manually IF YOUR COPY OF S&M IS DIGITAL. Physical Cart copies proceed using JKSM as normal.

Instructions to delete secure value manually as follows:

1. Go to https://github.com/Steveice10/FBI/releases and download FBI.3dsx
2. Copy that to the folder /3ds/ on your SD card
3. Launch homebrew and install it.
4. Go to https://gbatemp.net/threads/svdt-save-data-explorer-manager.396562/ and download SaveDataFiler.
5. Go to https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/39325-how-to-properly-import-an-edited-save-file-in-sunmoon-tutorial/#comment-205132 and follow all the instructions on using SVDT to manually delete secure values for S&M.

Got mine from https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-jks-savemanager-homebrew-cia-save-manager.413143/ tried to transfer my save from my n3ds digital copy to my old 3ds since it has cfw and when I tried to play Moon, I got the save not compatible so I deleted the secure value with fbi since I have cfw and then it work.

I was under the impression that you still need a new 3ds in order to use soundhax.

I just checked with someone else.

If it says "savefile not supported for this version" or similar then it means you messed up the secure value (which jksm shouldn't do that)

When it says "corrupt savefile" then it means you either renamed the "main" file or you put another file alongside the "main" file in the folder.


The whole secure value business only happens when you save again before reinjecting the dumped savefile anyway (so if you dump save, play game, save again, edit dumped save, inject save). But there's several homebrew tools that can fix that for you. I think even jksm has a option to "Delete secure value" next to import/export

you can dump the savegame, edit it and reinject it, but not downgrade.

There's limited piracy possible soon (just 20 or so games, the one's that came preinstalled with certain bundles), but if you want more you'd need to downgrade and install a cfw.

Hey, different anon here. I managed to download the "patched" file and renamed it 00164800.code, and placed it in the /hans/ folder on the SD card like the OP says. But when I start running HANS, it just goes back to the homebrew menu, any idea of what might fx this? Is hans supposed to run the game, or does it work like a Power save, where it edits the game and I still need to run the game from the regular 3ds home menu?

If anyone here would like to get access to homebrew and inject cool mons, heres a piss easy soundhax tutorial. All you need is your console, sd card, a PC, and internet access. https://youtu.be/t69uqp_U2H8

And heres a quick guide to get injecting after youve finally installed homebrew. Credits to that one experienced anon from the last thread

download jksm and merge the 3ds folder in there with the one on your 3ds.

Go into the hbl via soundhax, start jksm, select pokemon to dump your savegame and dump it to the sd card.

Put sd card in your pc, edit with pkhex, save, sd card back into the 3ds, hbl, jksm, inject savegame, done.

On n3ds you can also do the qr injection method via hans explained in the op.

Make sure to keep backups of your savegames in case something goes wrong"

Go to your 3ds settings and it should tell you what version you are on in the bottem right corner of the top screen. Soundhax worked on my 2ds, just remember to go by the o3ds when you start downloading the files on your PC

Your 3ds should have an SD card in it that you can remove. You will have to put the SD card in your PC, download files, and reinsert into your 3ds for the hack to work
