Titleid is the same as the original CIA that used the new VCs (00F73400), so you can just install over it and it wont affect the activity log, but keep in mind the save WILL BE DELETED so be sure to backup it first with your favorite save backup program, and start it once after you install and then restore your save.

The RTC isn't an issue on VBA though. It's actually really good at keeping consistent time when the emulator is paused or closed. I haven't run into any trouble with the clock not progressing in real time. It's only the calendar that seems to get screwy.

I tried BGB and mGBA, but both of them lose time when emulation is paused, so they're already worse than VBA in that category. The calendar issue seems to be more universal.

I think you get surf from the old man in the lighthouse. After provincial park and after you use the bricks to build the bridge.

For the most part the game gives you the HMS when you need them to progress. If you can't access and area then you either missed something or don't need to be there yet.

Maybe that's the key. The day increments when the clock goes from Nite 11:59 to Nite 12:00. If people aren't playing the game around that time, the clock doesn't increment and people fall back a day.

Since the game probably only keeps track of the hour and minute, it has no way to distinguish the time of one day from any other day, so it misses the opportunity to increment.

To the guy who wants to know candela's team, i've managed to battle her twice on my main save file, and she stopped appearing. Then I made a new game and tried to fight her, but she isn't appearing at all. Does anyone know what is the condition for her appearance? I thought all I had to do was to beat the tower three times and she would challenge me.

NoRTC means the game doesn't utilize a real-time clock (the thing in GSC that tracks time passage in real time, even when the game is turned off) and instead progresses time at a much faster rate only when the game is turned on. It seems gambatte only keep track of the time and not date. The date will only go on if you are playing during 11:59 and let the emulator change the date and then SAVING after the time changes. Save states also help. It seems save states do change if you save afterwards. Its really confusing how it works since I had different results.

I am still exploring if the date will change on the [Continue] screen and loading then saving the game will update the time.

There is a way to skip in time if you have the debug version of the ROM but its too much off hassle.

Here it is anyway if you have time to experiment:
Make sure you back up you save file and rtc file before doing this. Also record your original map location (screenshot the warp page since those are your coordinates) before warping so you can warp back to where you where. You could also use teleport (enter a pokemon center and exit to set up the teleport there) to teleport back to where you where assuming you warp right in front of the man that takes you to the cart a, otherwise you are stuck teleporting back to the entrance of the cave. This only happens if you entered the cave where the man in front of the cart is located.

Use the warp feature to warp to where the train cart is in the beginning of the game. Coordinates are in pic related. From there set the time to 11:59 PM (NITE) and let it roll out to the next day. Repeat this until you are in the right date. Once you are in the right date do it one last time and set the correct time.

If you go too far in the future just let the day repeat by not playing during 11:59 PM. Either way the date will fuck up so its not worth doing this.

The GSC method of resting the time will not work since it doesn't give you the option to set up the date. It might be better if someone makes a cheat code or something to load the date set up page.

So, my Eevee learned Charm. I checked and it is fairy. I leveled it up and it starts evolving into a fucking Umbreon. I hit the load save state because I had been using them while leveling up, and it sent me to a point where Eevee was at level 36.
Is it even worth it trying again knowing it will evolve into a fucking umbreon? or a fucking Espeon?

How do I escape Glitch City?

I've caught Phancero multiple times, killed it, ran from it, but every time I do so it just gives me seven Great Balls and warps me a few tiles away on the same map, with Phancero still there.

You can also find a Metagross as a scripted encounter in Saxifrage Prison, but you only get one extra key there and have to use it specifically on that Metagross to get it before the E4 (you can also backtrack and get it later after getting some extra keys in Rijon though).
