I'm kinda half-expecting now that Millefeui in a later episode would invite Ash in some big type event, kinda like a date, an actual one, and rub it all over Serena's face, and Ash accepts he's just that kind of guy. Later depressing Serena. Ash notices this but is is forced to accompany Millefeui, though all the while Ash's mind is on Serena. Also, Bonnie and Clemont are enjoying the event together, leaving Serena alone.

While Serena is shown moping about Ash later arrives and tells her how he was worried and as such excused himself from Millefeui. Seeing Ash leave her, Millefeui just says Yare yare.

In normal animu this would be those Japanese festivals where they go to the shrines wearing yukatas and having fun at the stalls culminating in the climactic fireworks display being seen by the couple.

I recently finished watching the BW series a couple of days ago.
