It's on the same island as Tapu "fuck civilization" Bulu. It was probably a bountiful city paradise before Bulu got pissy and went apeshit on it, so that the only people who live there are people with nobody else.

So, I'm going out on a limb here when I say this, but I'm pretty sure that the origins of Po Town/Team Skull/Acerola's family goes like this:
