That's the opposite of how it works though. The current gen is always shuttered on the most and the gen before it gets less shit. You should be hoping that gen 7 lasts as long as possible cause once gen 8 roles up gen 7 will probably be considered "okay"

A long time ago I used one of those Pelican cartridges to back up my gen 1 and gen 2 save files (and just a couple of months after, my Pokémon Silver ran out of battery) but I realized that the saves stored in this cartridge will eventually die as wel
l.
What should I go for if I want to store my game boy saves in my computer (and back)?

I never played gen 5, but now that I've invested in pokebank I really would love to transfer pokemons from my og diamond cart to bw/bw2 and then to my current sun cart.
So my question is, do I go for black/white? Will I miss anything if I go for B/W2?
