At least the haven't got to the point where magic is completely overshadowed by crits and physical damage like in most SMT games since Nocturne, even Persona Q suffers from this problem due to the boost system and how ridiculous SP costs are rendering attack magic useless against bosses with no weaknesses. Strange Journey or IV. Both are accessible, mainline games and easy enough to get your hands on. Don't start with Persona; the OP guide recommends P4 as a starter game, and it's lying to you. Persona is fun and I love P3 to death, but it's not SMT proper and it'll leave you with a bad expectation as to what the SMT franchise as a whole is about.

I played it for the EO really, the only Personas I could get myself to play from start to finish are the story modes in those silly fighting games, which game me all the background info I needed to enjoy the characters.

Nocturne on hard was the first one I actually beat, some people recommended Persona 3 but between the Social Links and fatigue system that could potentially turn off a lot of people. SMTI is pretty easy but if you don't know what you're doing it's incredibly easy to get lost both in the maps themselves and with figuring out what you need to do next and where. Strange Journey and IV are also pretty good choices I suppose, though those play a lot different from earlier titles.

Whoah, hold on. I just realized something. Kagutsuchi says that the great will once granted the world freedom to see if it would evolve to a new level. Yet the story of lucifer and YHVH is that yhvh never intended for them to not be ordered and that lucifer caused this. And on neutral, kagutsuchi also refers to you as "chosen" despit it seeming confusing as to whom that means. He doesn't seem to mean chosen by lucifer, but as the person who meets him in general.

Combined with in 1 when lucifer says that he is a part of god that god threw away, it seems that kagutsuhi must be referring to the great will as literally the wills of every living thing. The part of the "Great will" that granted this freedom may be lucifer after all. They refer to the process and flow of causality as if it was an anthropomorphized entity despite the great will being an abstraction. And of course what yhvh wants all along is to extend his influence to be synonymous with this.
