The funny thing is that you can't advance her link until after certain members join. Naoto joins September and nothing really important happens in October which could've had a moment with her. Hell, Naoto can get a moment with Nanako in her link if it's done soon enough. Just bought Ultimax, played the tutorial and a little bit of Golden Arena yesterday.

Relax, you have an auto combo for every character. If you're on PS3, keep pushing square. These combos don't do a ton of damage, but they can be used to build meter. Spend some time with your character in training mode to get a feel for all of your attacks. Try to focus on finding the correct spacing. Your furious action works as kind of reversal. If you're playing default controls, it's R1. Don't use it too frequently because it can be punished for lots of damage.

Anti-air it, or don't block it at all, ie dodge or DP. If you anti-air it, it's a fatal counter and it takes one of his persona cards. Odds are you can anti-air it, unless you're fucking Yukiko or something.
