Also a question, does CS 2 have any events based on who i pick? I've been using cheat engine to check out all events, but i do know the last few ones i'm gonna have to choose one person specifically. Are there new events in CS 2 depending on who i choose, or is it based on the link points i got to reach rank 5? Ao had some small scenes changing slightly if you have all 3 upgraded combo crafts from Randy, Elie and Tio, when you see them again, even if you did choose a specific person after the prologue, for the last event from Zero.

There are very, VERY slight changes in dialogue depending on two things if you import for CS1.

1) Upon reunion in CS2, if you had that person unlocked as a dance partner, their dialogue changes to directly mention things they say if you had chosen them to dance, specifically (sorta big CS spoilers)their dialogue right before you fly off in Valimar.

2)Whoever you picked to dance at the end of CS1, in the prologue of CS2 there's a moment where Rean is in signifcant danger and what he thinks are going to be his last thoughts are of your dance partner.

Gaius is probably the most well adjusted person for a main character in this series so far, without carrying any emotional baggage, aside from his fear of his land being put into danger, and his family. He's pretty bro.

it'd have to be a homebrew system, unfortunately, since there's no way any actual publisher would give enough of a shit to spend time on it. The mechanics are actually the tricky bit, since the Trails universe itself is practically ready-made for a ttrpg adaptation what with the presence of Bracers (aka professional sidequesters) and various factions like the Church, Ouroborous, jaeger corps, etc.

Speed and turn order would be the main complicating factors; the calculations involved are unwieldy for the tabletop framework, and so a major selling point of speedy characters (that is, their ability to wipe the enemy before they even get a turn) would have to either be done away or heavily modified.

Arts, quartz, and orbments would be some of the simplest bits to convert, considering 5e already has an equivalent to EP in the form of sorcery points. Giving access to spells based on what quartz you find would be doable with a slight simplification of the sepith system (or intelligent players willing to do some decent addition).

Anyway the whole idea is half-baked as of now but i'm still very intrigued by it.

Being obvious doesn't make it not the most important thing (because almost nothing in any of these games isn't obvious), and Rufus was not a good reveal at all. Even the characters treated it as secondary in that scene. To those who played Zero using KB+M, what control mapping did you feel most comfortable with? As it stands I've been going through the prologue with WASD for movement and IJKL for the symbol buttons, but I can't find a better solution for the D-Pad mapping other than cramming it awkwardly between the other two on TFGH.

If your save had everyone's combo craft upgrades due to carryover NG+, you would get an option to choose who you spent the last event with in Zero, but all scenes change slightly when meeting the characters anyways, but the train scene directly after the choice changes, aka, Lloyd being really thirsty for Elie, wanting to see Tio again, or wanting to hang out with Randy, but otherwise you'll still get Lloyd and Elie looking longingly at each other when they meet again. Assuming you had everyone's combo crafts upgrades that is, since you didn't, only Elie's first meeting is going to have a change.

That choice is only there if you carryover data from Zero, with 2 more combo craft upgrades being carried over, which is only possible if you beat the game more than one with NG+ bonus to keep your stats and stuff like that. I did a save like that by rushing the game getting full DP, furniture and so on, but for Vita you'd have to search around.

You're not missing anything major really, it's stuff like, Lloyd and Elie staring longingly at each other on their first meeting in Ao, Randy and Lloyd having a bit more to talk about when they meet too, same for Tio. The choice on the train only seems to change the scene immediately after it, which is Lloyd thinking about the person of your choice.

Everyone gets the extra scenes if you had their combo crafts upgraded though.
