Will it even support 1080+p? LiS was 720p on console. And on PC you also have mods and stuff. I enjoyed the 3D and free-roaming camera mods for LiS. I'd recommend getting it for PC. Most PCs should be able to run it anyway.

I wasn't sure about giving Deck Nine money for something that could harm LiS either, but I trust that they care about and love if not LiS, then at least what they adopted of it into their own. And instead of waiting for reviews or watching someone else play it, you should experience it yourself and get your own impression anyway. If you loved LiS as much as other people here did, even just giving it that chance should be worth any some 20 quid.

It depends if they have everything made now or if they have a few plans that can be changed depending on player reactions. Hopefully it doesn't get bogged down like the final two episodes of S1 and then end in a terrible way. At least with BtS it really cannot end that badly since it can't change anything we already know. Warren really didn't know the full story of everything. Even if he made Max think she caused the storm, Max wouldn't have any way to know she could possibly stop it.
If saving Chloe is what caused it then it should have gone away when Chloe was already dead or paralyzed. If "changing time" is what caused it, then Max technically made changes before saving Chloe in the bathroom so she cannot return to a 'pure' timeline.

I never played WoW, only Runescape for awhile (Thinking about that just brought back a huge nostalgia trip of many nights wasted) but I guess some of the class roles/builds are similar. It's neat that you got your question answered. Not sure if TomorrowHeart still lurks around here.
With the story, one thing I was a little curious and nervous about was Chloe hinting she had a nightmare about her dad, but I don't think it was ever mentioned beyond one of the 'bonus' text chapters. I could see that being really emotional, but I also liked the talk Chloe had with Max about her only remembering Rachel positively and Max saying that's just how people usually remember lost ones. Moving the bad moments out of memory.

Time rewind, seeing the future.
Maybe she saves Chloe from some terrible end at the hands of the two douches at the concert. Rachel then realizes she's not supposed to change things (as her parents told her and got upset with her when they learned of it) so she tries to distance herself from Chloe to let "fate" take its course, which is why she originally tells Chloe they cannot be friends. Over some time, Rachel really gets attached to Chloe and can't let something bad happen to her so she keeps her safe. When Rachel disappears in that timeline, her parents conclude it was something related to the power and so they stop searching, knowing they won't find Rachel.

It is. Most of the fanbase adores Chloe. The only times I've seen her getting hate are on /v/, Facebook, YouTube, and a few select Tumblr blogs. And that's coming from people that don't like the game in general a lot of the time, so they're hardly even fans in the first place. They dislike the game and pick it's most notable/visible character to point their hate towards because they want attention.
If most players hated Chloe then the final choice would not be a near 50/50 split.

Yeah, new everything for season 2 is the best idea. It's a fresh start and chance for Dontnod to try some new things and show they've learned their lessons with writing stories. If they really do a good job with the sequel then maybe they can consider revisiting season 1's cast and continuing that story or combining it with the sequel for a third season. But that is all a long ways off and depends entirely how season 2 is.

Depends on what the conflict will be. In general, having a power involving communicating with spirits or being able to shapeshift for a small period of time would be neat.
Problem is that the rewind lent itself very well to the game since you could explore multiple options, go back, and try something else, before settling on you preferred course of action.

Awhile back I had an idea for the power being summoning spirits with different genres of music and then being able to communicate with them. It creates a lot of potential and also ensures a large and diverse soundtrack. But I'm not so sure that would work for an LiS game. Whatever power is used needs to have a puzzle element but also an action one that can be used in an instant.

LiS looks great with the colors of fall and things like the wind kicking up leaves. As well as the atmosphere of Halloween coming so there's little hints of amusing scary stuff put up.
I'd love to see the sequel, or an eventual return to the original cast, set in winter. Comfy and bundled up clothing, everything covered in a glistening white, a nice *crunch* with each step taken, the sky covered with flurries, and every interior visited feeling warm and cozy. All with an ambient feeling of joy from the coming holidays and hope for the new year.

It's going to be so crazy to actually get to meet Rachel. I'm sure we all have our own thoughts on who she is just from how we heard her described and by her few letters we saw in the first game. On one hand it's cool and all, and definitely a place of curiosity eager to be satisfied, that the original promised and then left to be; on the other... it is ultimately just Deck Nine's thoughts on who she was, based on basically the same info we've had, if maybe a little more depending on whatever dontnod gave them (which can't have been all too much, because even if dontnod did have a richness of material on her character to go from (doubtful), Deck Nine have stressed time and again that the writing process was more or less entirely their team coming up with stuff).

And then there's also the idea that Rachel was meaningful to the world of LiS precisely and only as that ambiguous figure that lived almost exclusively in and through other characters and what she meant to them, in the gaps of the story largely and by-design left to the imagination, while herself actually being a non-character, figuratively and literally dead, a literary and plot device. Fleshing her out could do more harm than good, for LiS as an overall narrative world, but also her "character" itself, the mystique that had fans so curious and interested to begin with. But then again, the same skepticism can be and regularly is mounted against this entire prequel specifically and prequels altogether for any valued original franchise. Rejecting the idea on that basis alone is not fair to the storytellers, and from what I've seen, I'm willing to give Deck Nine's storytellers a shot at telling what they've also claimed is a story that can stand on its own.

I suppose if Rachel turns out to be thoroughly unlikable (or we can't believe that their rendition of her would be Chloe's best friend during those years) then we can disregard the whole thing but I hope the prequel does things well. We've only gotten tiny glimpses of Rachel's character and already she's a bit different than I imagined. As you said, Rachel Amber was someone we didn't know in the original. She was someone who has an aura of mystery around her and our only insights were conversations about her and a few writings from Rachel herself. Elaboration can kill some of the mystery but it seems there will still be some questions, and new ones, about Rachel judging by the hints Deck Nine has dropped about her and Arcadia Bay.

Before the Storm is more than Rachel though, it's mostly about Chloe and how she was handling losses and how found something in life that actually made her happy again. As well as an exploration into Chloe's relationships with other characters. If they do it well, then it would be an awesome addition to the original story, but if they mess it up then it may not even seen like a connection to the original can be made. So far Deck Nine seems dedicated to being faithful to what we already know and are not shying away from Chloe's attitude and past. Which I think is fair, we all know Chloe is not perfect and made a lot of mistakes but by seeing her past, we can track her development fully and see the potential for her future. Though seeing some of her more weaker moments are going to have a big impact since we don't want to see her pain. Maybe some of this can be healed by replaying the original after and seeing that Chloe is okay and that the prequel is the past.
