Just bought Tekken 7 this week. Haven't played any other games in the series since Tekken 3 as a kid. Having fun so far beating the story and just messing around in treasure hunt.

Trying to learn the game now, and I've been playing Leo. She's treating me well so far but I'm having difficulty finding ways to get juggle combos, most I seem to get is typically 6 hits. Opening them up is easy but once I've got them in the air I'm sort of unsure what to do beyond the 1211 or 1214 combo that I know, or just other one or two hit moves that don't really go anywhere. I'm pretty new to fighting games in general. Because of this, I'm not entirely sure that Leo is my character but she feels better than half of the others I've tried. Any tips for finding a good home or tips for beginners in general? I have checked out the videos in the OP which were incredibly useful.

You don't have to know most of it though. Most of that shit is hardly used and generally refers to character specific stances. There are only a few that you need to memorize (like: ~). The rest are pretty self explanatory or easy to figure out, such as CH meaning counter hit.

Bought T7 on the recommendation of a (much more experienced) friend. It's my first fighting game and I'm having a blast practicing combos and whatnot. I wanna do some research on my own. I have a few questions.

1) Executing combos in training is easy. Executing them against an actual player is not. Any tips on how to keep my cool and execute combos in an actual game?

2) I know frames exist. I have the most VERY basic of them. I wanna learn more. Any resources aside from the ones in the OP?

My advice as someone who also just started is play a bit of Treasure Battle, you can easily predict the AI's movement since the first matches won't be hard and you will be able to try the combos or basic moves against a moving target

Other than that I'd just say that keep playing quick matches, it's just a matter of time before you get used to them

The thing about combos is you won't just be able to do them whenever in a real match because your opponent is likely gonna block, evade etc. A good way to practice it is emulating a match situation where you have to actually have to react under pressure and keep something else in mind, and successfully land the launcher into combo then.

So for example use the recording tool in practice mode and make the dummy do a bunch of random high and low strings that you have to counter in different ways. Maybe a bunch of jabs and then one where you have to block low or one where you can sidestep and punish inbetween. Then block until you see that one unsafe move, react accordingly, launch punish and combo. Maybe also make the dummy use a throw now and then that you have to break, so you don't get too comfortable just blocking.
Just by creating a situation where you have to pay attention to multiple things it makes suddenly going into combos that much harder.

Also same works when you have a counterhit-launcher and you put the opponent on random block and random counter hit, only going for the combo when you confirmed you actually landed the CH.

Hope that makes sense. Ultimately njthing's gonna replace actually doing it in a real match though.

How do I practice so I can successfully press two button at once, every single the time. I swear I've lost so many matches because accidentally press one button too late and I weren't able to execute the move I wanted. I'm using an Xbox One controller and put my hand on the face buttons like a fightstick. Is an actual fightstick easier?
