Y'know, I got halfway into typing out a post after that one explaining how it works in the reverse, too. I wasn't sure why I stopped, because I did see this response coming.
Anyway:
It doesn't apply to Tae really, or any of the other non-PT slinks since they don't really embody trickery (though there is a lot of deception going around, Iwai comes to mind)
Joker uses their deception to serve his own ends, to have better cover as a Phantom Thief and as a goodie servant of YHVH (Or Igor, if you pick the betrayal ending, what with Lavenza going "You truly are a trickster" or whatever).
The same goes with Anne, that she's playing Kamoshida, but she's also tricking herself into believing that's what she's doing/that it's working (Hence her conflict with Shiho, her doubting herself at the end of the game, and so on) which is where Joker comes in to show her the way.
This applies in turn with just about every other PT member as well, and you see the worst of it in Goro, which works as my answer to

Which, like I said before, isn't my gripe with that SLink. Her wanting to stay at the inn is fine by me, if it evolved throughout the rest of the link. But it doesn't. She wants to do a bunch of things out there and them throws all of it out without absorbing anything and goes right back. It doesn't feel like she grew besides "now I don't FEEL forced to stay". Much like Makoto's link it feels like a good hunk of it is just disconnected for no reason.
Now I know I'm biased because I dislike Larry, but it just felt badly handled.
