Off the top of my head.

I very rarely use the armor or weapons you craft from Crimson/Corruption aside from the pickaxe, so i don't care at all that Crimson stuff is slightly better. Crimson has Ichor, which is a big deal, but i still massively prefer Corruption.

Basically it just gives you rewards for doing stuff like fighting bosses, finding biomes and doing stuff on the side like delivering items in exchange for other items.
You also get tokens for completing some quests you can trade in for lockboxes, which can contain pretty much anything and everything up to whatever part of progression you're at, from any of the mods you have active.

Playing on Expert here and anything past the Cult is new for me, Decided to stop before destroying the last pillar and tried to build something here, but now most of my gameplay is just running around and doing nothing, since I'm not sure what to build next. I need some tips on Moonlord, I have sky rails with bumpers on both ends and all of the potions, don't even know if this will save me from death in 2 seconds.

Anons, I need some help here.

See, i've been wanting to dabble with some mods for a while, and terraria is something that i'm greatly interested in messing around with. The problem is, I know there's a guide on the official forums for getting tmodloader to work and all that stuff, but is there any way to directly access the files of the game, either as a download, or opening the game files itself, so I can poke around and see how X enemy spawning works, or summon items, etc etc, so I can learn how the game functions, and how to copy things similar to the ideas I want to make for tweaking.

At what point do you just edit in an item you've been grinding for? I've spent an hour stormbow farming yet not a single fucking mimic has dropped one.

is there any mod that just outright disables corruption/crimson/hallow spreading? Currently running thorium + calamity with 3 other friends, none of us want to waste our time building hellshafts and we just want to take our time and explore the mod content without worrying about this autistic game mechanic.
I know tshock has an option for it so it can't be that hard, but I'm looking for something easier to install and run consistently, tshock is more of a last resort.

said. Starbound has a bit of a history with Terraria. You see, Tiy, the self-proclaimed "ideas guy" who founded Chucklefish originally worked for Re-Logic. He was a minor artist, quite a few of the early cosmetic items were his doing, pic very related. Tiy left in the gap between Terraria 1.2 and Terraria 1.3, when we all thought 1.2 was the last major update since Cenx, Tiy's wife, was pregnant.

Now going into less concrete fact and into rumor, supposedly Tiy had stolen some ideas for Terraria 2, implementing them in Starbound. Tiy wasn't exactly shy on proclaiming Starbound a Terraria killer, and very much capitalized on the fact that he worked on Terraria in a minor capacity to gain traction for Starbound. Even now people sometimes get confused and think Terraria and Starbound were made by the same company.

Whatever the case may be, Cenx supposedly HATES Tiy, so much that after giving birth, she convinced Red to go back and work on Terraria, thus why we even got a 1.3 update. By that time the Starbound beta was out and disappointment in Starbound's development progression had already set in.

fishing is boring (duh) but a pretty good way of getting good stuff early on.
personally I love stocking up before hardmode and opening crates to get all of the ores without having to destroy altars and generate more corruption.

Can someone explain why the setup on the left blocks the Martian Saucer but the setup on the right doesn't?

Left setup is two rows of mushroom grass three blocks above my house made of obsidian bricks. If I stand under the mud then the saucer can't touch me.

Right setup is two rows of active stone blocks spaced exactly like the mushroom grass but about 15 blocks above the solid ground. When I stand under this the saucer can come down right through them and shoot me in the face.

Are the stone blocks too high above the ground? Is that why the saucer can go through them?

I wish the game told you the set bonuses for armor without me having to look it up on the wiki

Im playing it right now, without taking part in all the fuss from devlopment phase and while all planets from same type looks the same, at least I can:

1) Progress beyond few initial bosses without becoming satanistic follower who sacrifice people for dark gods
2) Build underwater complex base

Unless there are mods to change that, I dont really see a point to return to Terraria, as I explored what I could from pre-hard mode and every new content is end-game one anyway.

But I admit that Starbound ranged weapons are shit, armor dont do anything, tier progress is boring and Im constantly as weak as I was at the beginning.

Truth. I started a playthrough with it to see if it was any good and half way through fighting the first boss of it it decided it couldn't be fucked fighting me anymore and started jerkily teleporting halfway across the map to my base.

I picked this up on sale and just started today, just killed the Eye with a summoning token I found in a chest.

Is it worth making the 22 damage Blood Butcherer or the 19 damage Tendon Bow or should I save my bars for armor. The ice blade only does 17 damage but it swings at "very fast" and also launches a magic bolt that lets you double hit every few swings.

Having a ranged option that doesnt require ammo or mana seems way too good to pass up, but maybe I'm missing something

I seem to recall the Tendon Bow still needs arrows as ammo. As for the rest of your loadout, eh. Make the bow if you're hurting for ranged options. You'll need the Blood Butcherer for the Night's Edge later on anyway.

Go hunting for floating islands if you want decent damage pre-Dungeon. Or you could look through the dungeon down to level height and see if you can find a Water Bolt tome. Any lower and you're gonna have a bad time.
