I think that's pretty slow. They'll start their journey next episode, ep3 will see them deal with the mimics and then get to ozen. Ep4 will be ozen fight, training montage and lyza flash back. Ep5 will be third layer and first porcupine fight and will end on nanachi showing up.

Maybe they descend on ep3. There's a bunch of dialogue-oriented stuff between the end of ep1 and the start of the journey, the whistle coming back, getting Reg into the orphanage, the letter, the two discussions about whether they should go or not. I think ep2 might be explanation of the curse + getting Reg in [eyecatch] + the whole whistle deal with the festival and stuff + going to read the letter. It'll end with the "I'll wait for you at the bottom". Trying to get up to the descent only with ep2 would be too fast, but maybe taking 3 full episodes to do it would be a bit slow, so they might add anime original stuff here and there but I doubt they'll cut anything from this part.

I'd say, if ep 6 ends with the spread of them at the top of the fault, then ep 7 ends with Nanachi's introduction (really it's just 2 action-filled chapters) and then it's a toss if ep 8 ends in the "kill mitty" or a bit before. Of course that's assuming they don't pad earlier parts by adding stuff. Even then I don't really think you can create 4 chapters worth of padding so it's hard to gauge how the adaptation will pan out.

Also cable cars need engine and station that are powerful enough to drop a large bathyspere-thick vessel that can carry dozens of children per trip, however we don't see such thing on Orth? And even if the already-available engines on the city can do that, why not set stations on every layer in the first place, why only Bondrewd do this? The Airship expedition fails, but somehow Bondrewd managed to do just that!

I have a question:
it's very probable that Reg was at the 6th layer at some point since Faputa knows him. The only way to get to the 5th layer that we know of is through the elevator that needs a white whistle to be activated.
Question is: who could activate it for Reg? Lyza? The grandpa of Guidance? Srajo?
And considering Abyss is a fucking dangerous place and venture from the 5th layer to the 1st without proper knowledge and experience would be deadly even for Reg, who helped him get there?

Nanachi's dialogue and what the flower field Praying Hand say pretty much confirms that it's 1 consciousness jumping, not a bunch of Bonedrewd clones (though she might be wrong, it's the best info we have to go on).
The way I think it works is when the Zoaholic "implants Bonedrewd's soul" in a new body it doesn't actually overwrite the new host's consciousness, it just makes it possible for Bonedrewd's consciousness to now jump into that body and make's them more controllable/susceptible to obeying Bonedrewd. But over time the original consciousness breaks down and eventually you just have a husk of a human that Bonedrewd can possess.

That would explain why some Praying hands, like the flower field one and the one taking care of Prushka in the flashback" don't seem anything like Bonedrewd. It would also explain some of the things mentioned in the description of the Zoaholic like how the consciousnesses of the hosts mix together and drive the user insane. If it was just a bunch of Bonedrewd clones there wouldn't be a bunch of consciousnesses to mix, they'd all just be their own person.
