My friend is gonna be goin through ds1 again. He and I havent played it in a while though I am much more experienced than him. He's gonna use dex and pyromancies, my other friend was going to be a tanky healer, so I figure I will role a mage. Ive only beaten the game once as a wiz woz, but I was only sl30 using the oolacyle catalyst, gmw and power within. Whats some fun shit I can do with int? Was thinking of making a mlgs knight with minimum attunement.

Ds1 magic is very powerful but the worst for sustain. You run out of magic very very quickly compared to casting in ds3 and ds2 especially.

In order to save Solaire I need to join a demon chaos covenant and access a short cut after givin said covenant 30 humanity.
In order to acces abyss dlc I need to head to a complete optional bottom of the woods area and kill a hydra, reload the said fucking place just a "gold" golem can spawn a princess who's also a "memory". Then after getting a lord vessel I must specifically head to the grand archives(1st time players who don't go here have no idea) and kill a golem there and get a pendant. Then I have to hear back to optional bottom of darkroot to acces a time portal that I would have never had guessed, even the pendant doesn't offer a fucking clue.

It's abominable. It has split physical and magic damage and low variants of both. It's a bow so it's already in a bad place and it doesn't have the Composite Bow moveset so you're chances of actually hitting someone in PvP with it are even lower than normal. Even on a 60 INT/DEX build it will barely do any damage to most players, it's just unbelievably awful.

Yes, Lucy, we all know that they're loyal to the Nameless King, anyone who has been part of the covenant in either 1 or 3 knows that, even the Sun Seal in 2 made a slight reference with the worship of the sun widespread amongst certain warriors. However, the ability to trade Gwyn's Soul at the Altar of Sunlight in 1 for the Sunlight Spear, along with Solaire's referencing of the Lord of Sunlight and asking to do good deeds for others in the name of the Lord of Sunlight insinuates some sort of possibility of loyalty to Gwyn. At the same time, it would appear that the Warriors have been active for a long time, if the Altars of Sunlight scattered throughout the lands are to be believed. They were likely still Altars even before NK's betrayal in favor of the dragons, why would they scatter and display broken statues? They feel like the leftover remains of a covenant that has been long active, even before NK was exiled.
Therefore, if the Warriors were around for that long, is it too much of a stretch to believe that while they had primary loyalty to NK, they could have shared it toward Gwyn and the rest of the royal family? The Princess's Guard better connects to members of the Warriors of Sunlight, apart from Way of White. So who's to say they don't hold loyalty to both parties, NK and Gwyn, another leftover from old traditions? Or do you just enjoy the Age of Dark ending that much that you don't want to think someone's goal may have been to Link the Fire? Even Anastacia asks that you do the deed. And she's the best waifu in 1, no questions.

You probably should be near level 40. I'd say go back to rosarias and pump vigor up at least mid 20s maybe 27 for now.


Then take any weapon that you like using and meet the reqs for it. You are never going to find a weapon stronger than what you're using.

Weapons are ALL shit until you level them up. So find one you like and level it. Then look at the letters for it's scaling and pump your stats for the highest letter to 40

But you generally want to get stamina to 20 and health to about 27 before pumping damage stats unless you're really good.

I'm not him, but I feel like him. Everything in 2 felt like it took ten million hits to die, but that might just be the bloated numbers. I was using the grand lance and everything felt like it took no damage whatsoever. Same with armor, a +10 Syan Armor and decent amounts of hp, I still died far quicker than I'd have like after facetanking my way through DS1

True enough, DS1 was fairly poorly balanced, still the complaint doesn't make sense in light of 3 where armor as almost no effect outside of having a piece on or poise and where bosses are far more resistant to magic nukes and generally have far larger HP bars. 2 has some of the least tanky bosses in the entire series with only DeS really beating it out on that front.
Facetanking a boss is a thing of the past, but 2's armor more than halved physical damage from most sources even after all the nerfs its gotten over the years.
