I have a simple method for you.

Keep using EXP cards until they won't let you use anymore. That means you've hit max level with that amount. Look at the EXP value at the right, then reduce it to 2/3 of its current value. So, if you're putting 150,000 EXP into a servant, reduce it down to a bit over 100,000 EXP.

If you get a Great Success or Super Success, then great, you've saved your EXP cards and the servant is filled up.

If not, then you're paying just a bit more QP, but don't worry about the waste.

The more events you try to take on, the less likely you are to get any of them. You might be trying for Anne & Mary during the summer event (probably around a 1% chance) and if you have 200 rolls, then you stand a pretty good chance of getting her. But if you split that up between Lancer Alter and Summer Anne & Mary, that's only 100 rolls each, and much more likely that you won't get one or the other - that you won't get either, for that matter.

There are also other rolls you could try to get one or the other. If Lancer Alter is a permanent addition to the pool, you could try getting her during the New Years event, where the chances are much higher but event characters, like Summer Anne, aren't even available.

But I'd think that you just want to stock as much quartz as you can, simply to have the best shot at the one thing you do want. After all, you're going to be kicking yourself if you roll it all and don't get what you were going for. They refresh daily. Yes, you have been missing out. However when 1/2 AP ends you should only do the 30 AP and 40 AP one clear and you get mana prisms quests. The ones that take three runs are AP-inefficient. You'd get more mana prisms running the 30 AP daily and burning all the EXP cards than you would clearing those missions three times.

During the event banners/rate-up banners, if you pick the banner, then the game still rolls to see what you get. (a 4* servant, a 3* craft essence, etc) Then, if you do get one of the servants, the odds are heavily weighed in favor of the banner servants. Between 50% to 70%, by most accounts. If it weighs for the banner servant, then you get that one. If it doesn't, then it does a normal roll among the pool of possible servants and gives you one.

As in, during the current Gil banner, you still have a 1% chance at a 5* servant. But within that, it might be 60% Gil and 40% someone else, any among the other five 5* available. So you have a 0.6% chance of getting Gil from any roll, and around a 0.08% chance of getting Waver, Jeanne, or any of the other 5*.

The 4* servants in the banner are in a similar situation. With the one we have, it's around 1% to get Atalante, around 1% for Lancelot, and around 1% for any of the other 12 4* possibilities.

Story unlocks, and anything else that is in your standard summon pool, are available as part of the banner.

The Gil Banner is weighted to around a 66% change to get one of the characters on the banner, split between them. (I am guessing at these numbers, but they sound reasonable.)

That means a 2% chance of getting one of the banner 4*, and a 1% chance of getting any other 4*. Since there are two 4* on the banner, Atalante and Lancelot, that works out to a 1% chance at Atalante, a 1% chance at Lancelot, and around a 0.1% chance at any other 4*. It all adds up to the 3% chance to get a 4* servant.
