I tried disabling both Vigor and Locational damage but I still crash on timed block.
I might try start a new game and see if timed blocking is still an issue, I did install many big mods at different points in this playthrough.
The latest mods I installed was Pit Fighter quest mods but I think that just allowed me to see the problem because I was always in combat

I fixed my problem. Ultimate Combat's timed block was clashing with Ordinator's timed block (perk) causing a crash so I set Ultimate Combat's timed block to 0 seconds and there's no longer an issue. Just thought I'd let you know for the future.

Oblivion newfag back again, got this bullshit actually loading again. DarN just had me overwrite a magic menu or something, and now I'm vaguely remembering some other mod saying to have that overwrite that menu, but I'm not even sure if I'm still using whatever that was. Also someone said the vampire fix was in bash, but I'm not seeing it anywhere in the extra options.

Hopefully this looks better than last time, anything I should dump, did I miss a patch for something, and what do I still need to cover?

It's in one of the options checked automatically.

That list is looking pretty damn nostalgic to me but there are some things wrong.

1. You only needed cobl main.esm, the entire rest of the mod isn't needed for what you wanted.
2. RAEVWD sux. I know you said you liked LOD but eh.
3.Make sure you tweak Enhanced Grabbing and QZ Easy Menus .ini files.
4. CameraCommands.dll if I'm not mistaken is deprecated when using Oblivion Reloaded. Look into that.
5. Pretty sure there are some more Immersive Interiors plugins, search for them on the nexus using that term.
6. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45666/ may or may not be better than the QTP3 you have there, those file names seem old.

and finally what RTNM packages are you using? I really think the landscape one looked bad for the most part.

Don't ditch them if you don't dislike them! Some people do like them just not me. Just keep in mind that the mod is making everything bumpy(ie noisy, you'll get more aliasing) as fuck. So if something looks so bumpy it's dumb, remove it.

Not all of the good stuff. Gopher and the other modern programming nerds weren't around in Oblivion days. The only real-time editors are for OBGE or OR. Some mods do have an in-game menu(like Cobl) but they're pretty cumbersome unlike MCM and the graphics mods menus.

The empire covertly supports hammerfell, and IIRC, the dominion isn't too happy about hammerfell being independent. It could easily feature that conflict if they wanted to keep it relevant.

MCM only really works with DarN anyway, and the new big thing is Vanilla UI Plus. Bigger font, but you don't have to install DarN and another UI mod in the exact correct order (even with MO) along with any other mod that touches the UI. So all the text overlaps, but it doesn't take me two days to go back and uninstall and reinstall every UI mod to update a single one, and then try to find the magic install order. But yeah there seem to be some new big players in NV modding now, with Lutana and JIP merging.

It'll hopefully be set in either Valenwood or Hammerfell. But they really need to do those provinces justice. I want my walking tree cities and cannibalistic wood elves, and large open hunting plains. Hammerfell needs some sick mountains and rocky passages I can slice away with a scimitar or something. Ancient ruins hidden beneath the mystic sands that only reveal themselves during specific times, only to be re-buried for another thousand years again (or 7 ingame days to balance it out).

Just make the provinces as they've been told they look like and described. Don't go making some generic woodland area and call it Cyrodiil when it was supposed to be a jungle, right? Unless that was some ancient lore thing they retconned.

Hey, thoughts on this guide? Just the textures. It's what I was using before, and I don't have the patience to install all the textures again, so in addition to what I already have I'm probably just going to start off with Enhanced Vegetation and maybe Insanity's weapons and armor, and then go by what jumps out at me while playing. Okay, so this is Aurelin. She's a Redguard from an extremely overprotective family in Hammerfell. She was kidnapped and brought to Skyrim, where she was saved from her kidnappers by a mysterious mage. Because she was so sheltered, she didn't have any experience with magic whatsoever. Immediately enchanted by the strange concept, Aurelin sets out to become a witch and to learn as much as she can in this strange new land in order to protect herself.
I didn't spend much time designing her, but I definitely want to edit her appearance more. I only have one hair mod installed, so this is the best I've got for now until I find something more fitting. I'm only just getting started with playing around sculpting in RaceMenu, so here's to learning more and making her look better! I downloaded a gothic outfit for her, but I can't find it for the life of me. It's the one by Osare, and it says it should be in Riverwood. So she's stuck with my only other downloaded clothing mod for now.

Idk about robes specifically, but if it's a random mod, or even a vanilla outfit, and I guess provided it shows no skin; you can just swap out the model if it has both a male and female version, and hope for the best.

Short of that, and to answer literally; it's pretty hard to alter a mesh to remove things like boob plate properly, and half the time not really worth it anyway.

My issue is toting a team of 50 modders of 5 years. It isn't really good for exploration either. There is really no reason to go there other then to maybe take a picture, maybe. There's a single fleshed out Ayleid ruin, and three fleshed out quests, two of which are buggy and don't work (at least, when I played during the first hotfix) and neither of the two quests are that interesting. All the guilds/groups hint at you being able to join heavily but you never can, proving even Bruma is unfinished. The best thing I can say is that Frostcrag spire and Cloud Ruler Temple look cool, as well as the non-snowy environments once you get off the mountain

I'd give it a C+ but given the amount of CTDs and FPS drops you get, the shoddy patching being done, and falling for the open cities meme, I'd say more like a C-

Climbing was gone by Morrowind, and that was used as the original comparison. You could still have climbing without open cities, Beth is just too lazy to implement it. Skyrim would've been great if it gave us the ability to actually scale up mountains. Hell, levitation could probably be balanced around closed cities as well.

I know personally I found that schedules actually make quite a bit of sense. There's been plenty of times when I've gotten into town and found that all the shops are closed up, I check the time and I realize hey it's 9 p.m. and it makes sense that I'm not going to see a vendor Hawking carrots and shit in the dark. I don't usually bother with the Dark Brotherhood on most of my playthroughs, so that side of things I never really have to worry about but I do play a Thief quite often and it's kind of neat to sit there and ask myself, when is the best time to break into someone's house? Do I go in during the day when I'm far more visible but they're more likely to be out? At night when it's far less visible but they may be home?

About the only thing I really dislike about Skyrim's stealing system, breaking into a house is only a crime if you're caught during the actual lock picking. If somebody catches you in the house they just ask that you leave, and if somebody catches you leaving the house they don't care. Personally I think that the system should be anybody who sees you entering or exiting the house should have a guard inquire with you what you were doing in there and being caught in a house that had been locked up should be immediately a crime.

I realized that there's never going to be anything that will the followers in Skyrim to be on par with say Mass Effect or Dragon Age, but at the very least I would like something that can make them a bit more user-friendly. I often have to check several times to see that they haven't gotten caught on some piece of architecture or some rock somewhere. Are there any mods which make the followers require less babysitting? Like, they follow you closer and maybe even teleport out of sight somewhere but nearby if they Fallen too far behind?

Please help. I looked at the General site in the op, I checked out the follower mods that it recommends but none of them say anything about it. EFF and AFT say nothing on either of their Nexus pages about following closely or teleporting to catch up.
I did find one mod that claims to do this but it's got very few downloads and very few endorsements which always makes me a little nervous as to what it may break or what compatibility issues it might have.

I also have convenient horses, which makes followers Mount up when I'm on my mount and I don't know how that would interact with any of the other mods.

I could really use some advice from people who know more about the subject than I do and since I always see people talking about followers here I figured this is the best place for help

From what bethesda and the various open cities mods have demonstrated, they ARE the options we've got unless something changes tech wise. Also again I'm not arguing against climbing or levitation. What I am arguing is that it looks like the options would be to have better npcs with schedules, physics objects, and closed cities or to have open cities with shitty npcs, no physics objects, and to trust that bethesda can have design choices that make climbing and such feel like they're worth doing.

Also while I did not play daggerfall, I am aware of the game's use of random generation.and a look at uesp shows that the skills were for pacifying the relevant npcs on a skill check. So at best, I could see languages implemented as a side to a speech perk that lets you pacify shit like in Fo4, like there are side perks for illusion to allow your spells to work on robots, daedra, and undead.

I strongly prefer realistic, as it makes it so you can't just drink any old pool of Muddy Water that you happen to come across. You actually have to boil water to kill off contaminants.

I also recommend getting the more salt mod and the water from Wells mod. Just be aware that the latter makes it a little too easy to keep hydrated given that there's very little distance between cities. Still it makes a lot of sense that you should be able to get clean water easily from Wells within towns.

My current follower is a hardcore Warrior who has only used stealth combat a single time when she was horribly horribly outnumbered. I doubt I'll use it for that, but I definitely like the idea of a teleportation spell so that I don't have to worry about my follower falling behind and not being able to keep up.

It also helps a lot that convenient horses seems to be fully compatible with it as I really like a lot of the features convenient horses ads.

That depends on how you define worth it. It doesn't really give you any advantages, other than an extra 10 Health, magic, stamina when you are nice and warm. Mainly it's meant to, well not really challenge, but meant to add an extra element to survival. You can't just head up to the peak of the tallest mountain unprepared or dive into glacial water and expect to get off fine. You have to actually bundle up. You get perks and abilities which help out but they don't directly give you bonuses so much as they just allow you to withstand colder temperatures longer.

I need is probably better compared to realistic needs and diseases. That mod introduces the eat, sleep, drink functionality but it doesn't really give you any bonuses to doing so it's meant to make you actually want to carry around food for something other than eating 300 apples during a fight. In fact it even penalizes you if you eat too much by reducing speed and become overfull.

You don't get those types of mods because you want them to make your character stronger, you get them because you feel like living in Skyrim is absurdly easy and requires no effort whatsoever. They actually make you think about how to approach certain situations and what you're going to keep with you. They also make camping more interesting because it gives it a purpose instead of just being there for fun.

Just to give you an example, I was doing the main quest. Going up to the top of the throat of the world to meet the greybeards. Before I started up the mountain I had a hearty meal with stew which helps keep you nice and warm, put on a full suit of armor where usually I keep my helmet uncovered so I can see my character, and a thick fur cloak. Even then by the time I got to the top of the mountain my character was feeling pretty chilly and on her way to freezing. I had to kind of hurry once I reach the top to get inside the hall where I could warm back up. I did my quest went out into the courtyard and did all the Whirlwind stuff and then bundled right back in because it was so cold out there.

I'm at the top of a mountain surrounded by snow, and I'm constantly worried about heading out, doing whatever I need to, then heading back in to get warmed back up. From a role playing standpoint that's pretty much how you would expect most characters to act.

When I finished, I headed down the mountain back to ivarstead. I got on my horse and decided to start heading towards Riften, because I was doing some Dawnguard shit. About halfway there it had gotten really dark with my ENB, so I decided to camp out. Built a campfire, set up my cozy fur tent, and fed the fire with enough fuel to last until morning.

Throughout the adventure I contracted a couple bad diseases from bears, and I had on my way down nasty encounter with an ice Wraith that left me pretty damn cold, so I had to hurry down the mountain to get back to where I could warm back up. At no point did anything help me out with bonus stats or whatever, but because of the fact that I was playing the game in a manner that felt like you would expect a person to actually behave, I felt more immersed than vanilla where I just run up run back down and don't give a single fuck about snow or ice or altitude or anything else

If I recall correctly, one of the options gives you is to pause exposure when you're in combat.

I know that you can use destruction magic to light a campfire, but I don't know about whether or not you can use it to heat yourself up. also know that being attacked by Frost spells will make you lose heat more rapidly then you otherwise would. I assume being attacked by fire probably does the opposite but I don't think you can heat yourself up that way.

It does add new spells that allow you to summon shelter or a nice cloak, a spell that dries you off when you're wet, spells that restore exposure or resist getting colder, things like that.

oh thanks, these are the mods i have that has scripts, i never used frostfall so i sounded a bit paranoid.

I play a restoration priestess that has the vanician magic perk from ordinator, meaning i have to sleep to recharge my magic(in exchange of being able to cast spells without any magicka cost). So combined with the sleeping bag mod and ineed, it's enough for me to do some camping(and no carriage using), that's why frostfall caught my attention.

Also, unrelated, are there any mods which make vanilla hairstyles look a little closer to the SG hairstyles? I don't mind the fact that my character has the only unique hairstyle in Skyrim, but I think it might be nice if some of the NPCs had hair that didn't look as awful as vanilla does.

I find it funny how every person has there own weird idea as to how they came to be

They weren't an experiment, they weren't rapebabbies. They simply were men that over time gradually overtook the Direnni, not aggressively, but simply through breeding. Take into account how the Nords also conquered and settled in High Rock at their height (Daggerfall was founded by them), and it makes sense that they have far more mannish features than Elven. Plus the amount of Elven blood/heritage among themselves isn't static across the board, though practically speaking everyone has a notable amount of it.

It's essentially the opposite of what happened in Skyrim between the Men there and the Falmer.

Expanded towns and cities is probably one of my favorite Skyrim mods. I absolutely cannot recommend it enough, but I will have to warn you that it can be a little heavy on frame rates especially when paired with a particularly strong ENB.

I've tried Dawn and I've tried JK and personally I find the dawn of Skyrim mods to be the better of the two, but this is definitely something that you might want to try yourself and compare to determine which one you like better.

The Direnni elves have never really been characterised as especially oppressive or hateful of Men- really the closest I can think of is that they historically aided and integrated exiled Ayleids and other mer with sketchy backgrounds. In Daggerfall (the game) there's still members of clan Direnni serving in noble courts, and their reduced presence to just Balfiera is depicted as less of an uprising and more of a gradual decline of their own influence while the emerging Bretons developed their own civilisation. They're less of a race and more of a highly venerated noble clan that are guardians of the Adamantine Tower, similar to how nords respect the Graybeards.

Decided to do random side quests as a sellsword and stop exterminating fauna for a while, the animals don't even fight back anyway. I almost freeze to death sneaking around the bandits in the barrow near Riverwood; waiting for the perfect stealth archery shot doesn't work so well when you're up to your waist in snow. At least every dungeon has at least one fire guaranteed.

I could go shove the Dragonstone up Balgruuf's ass and become dragonborn, but i've been avoiding that for now. Not really looking forward to the inevitable dragon surprise when i'm out camping in the middle of nowhere.

On the topic of barrows, if the regular skeletons are tough to beat, the draugr are nightmarish: huge bullet sponges, they all shout ice or fire, and the draugiest of them all even summon skeletal support. Luckily the undead flare potions I can make work on them, but don't really last long enough to cover the entire fight.

There are bajillions of armor replacements for Oblivion and serious modders replace armors on their own since it's so easy. Even making mashups is easy as hell unlike Skyrim.

Probably next to impossible for a number of reasons. Custom races aren't a tall hurdle to cross though, making your own race is trivial and creating your actual character within the CS is infitely easier than doing it in-game. When you do it in-game, sliders literally move around randomly without you touching them. In the CS it doesn't do that and there is more flexibility, you can even move vertices with your mouse.

A custom race consists of the assets(head mesh, textures, ears, .tri files, etc) and the base sliders that the in-game sliders feed off. The reason it's next to impossible to make a nice looking vanilla race is because the base sliders are bad, then you have the ugly vanilla assets on top of that.

If you crash right when you reach the main menu, it usually means that he required Master is missing or there's something fucked up with your load order. You have way too many mods for me to be able to tell exactly what should be where in the load order, so you best rely on using loot to sort that all out. I'm planning on going with Requiem + Skyrim XP Redone because I want to make my game feel like an offline Korean MMO. The biggest flaw of Race Menu is how cluttered it is. I don't see a reason to include two sliders for the same thing only with lesser and higher amount of details. Also, the lack of change history is absolutely annoying especially if you're playing with colors.

I have that installed right now, got it during the sale. It plays more like an older Bioware rpg like Jade Empire. It's too straight forward and I don't like how everything revolves around the player, like it's a red carpet rolled out for you. And there's no party members, you're just entirely alone by yourself for most of the time. With real mmos, you're a nobody to all the other players on the server and there's players and npcs everywhere. I don't want to feel like the hero, I just want to feel like a random schmuck playing an mmo who hired some mercs/made a couple of friends along the way as we just go out to do random quests and stuff to level up slowly.

I was talking about ECE's wireframe overlay that's slapped onto character itself. From there you can select any vertex on your character by just clicking and selecting it. It's handy when you fix minor flaws like spiky points and so on. It's the selection that I really miss.

Correct. When i did it the first time, i hated it too. But when i got used to it after a few weeks it became VERY clear just how superior Racemenu is now, especially sculpt compared to vertex edit. Vertex edit is outright bad, whereas sculpt is kinda like molding clay. Just drag and click stuff. Both ECE and Racemenu may do the same, creating faces, but the tools available determine the outcome, and racemenu wins here.

The biggest drawbacks of Racemenu are the godawful default presets and the cluttered UI. thats really about it.

both. About 90% of my armor&clothing mods work with it. just make sure you batch generated the meshes from a conversion so that these new meshes are being used.

Hm, seems like it doesn't work for my conversions. I run UUNP body, but my preset has sliders set to 7BO. All the outfits I convert with Bodyslide are set to UUNP -7 BO. When I go into showracemenu with the outfit equipped moving sliders around does nothing. I tried converting the clothes to Zeroed Sliders preset in UUNP Bodyslide, but doesn't change anything.

It's nothing to do with the mod you use for creation, but rather the associated .tri files.

ECE has "additional" morphs, which are better refered to as "alternate" morphs for many if not all of expressions, which is why it seems vastly different if you switch between the two without using the same trigen. It's better considered a race mod in itself than a creation extender, it has nothing to do with sliders or races used.

I would suggest setting up custom races for any character you build or want to put a lot of time into, so that you can use whatever morphs (and meshes) you want to with any creation extender mod, be it racemenu or ECE; you can dictate which files are used easily and it's better to do so for control over expressions, and available morphs during creation also.

I use racemenu now because I like the UI and the funtionality, but I still use ECE .tri. The ECE vs. racemenu argument is dumb and you should all feel bad.

Can you help me bros, I'm in the middle of a survival playthrough (campfire, frostfall, ineed), when I got the vampire germs, looking forward to the ineed feature where drinking blood replenishes hunger and thirst.

Just to learn that shit doesn't work period, not with better vampires anyway. Spent a bunch of time converting my save to realistic needs and diseases and I don't like it, it still doesn't support any vampire survival stuff.

Tldr; are there any good survival/vampire mod combos that synergies well, with blood replenishing survival needs. Or do I just undo it all. Go back to a save, wipe my vampirism and be a werewolf? My last playthrough was a vampire slayer so I don't wanna do that again.

Everything worked apart from drinking blood to fulfill survival needs. The vampire options on ineed had no effect in-game, (no matter what, blood didn't fulfill thirst and hunger, but normal food did and had normal effect).

Which toggle is on BV? The only ones I see are 'toggle if food has effect'?

Why would there need to be compatiblties when being a vampire would completely replace any survival mod? You don't need food, and don't get cold anymore. Just ignore the human surival stuff and crank up the sun weakness and hunger settings in better vampires to your liking.

The way ineed claimed to work was what I was looking for, hunger and thirst still having effect and needing to be fulfilled, but after contracting the vamps, I would have to hunt humans rather than animals at camp, I enjoyed playing the idea of a lone vampire camping in the wilderness, gone from setting up camp and hunting deer for the nights meal, to hunting for bandits and travellers at night for my meal.
