I play Claudio (supposedly mid-low B tier) in yellows and while I certainly feel that Drag has an easier time executing his gameplan, I don't really feel hugely disadvantaged against him, or King, or DVJ, or Leo etc

Look man even if we ignore tthe entirety of her moveset, she's still bullshit because she's the only character in the game to straight up drop out from some universal juggles that work against every single character other than her, meaning for example if I was to hit you with Claudio's d/f+1,2 while having starburst, my usual optimized bnb that deals 76 damage would go down to 69 because she just falls out of the normal combo, and if I forget about it in the heat of the match I get fucked for it by dropping almost 30 damage

You can't say that taking 10% less damage from a combo (in this particular case, though I'm sure other characters have similar situations) than every other character is not an unfair advantage

Again, that's ignoring her moveset entirely, which is a whole other can of worms

i hope they never get rid of match list so im not forced to play against streamerfags

Yeah, the combo I do against Xiaoyu in the same d/f+1,2 -15 punish or whiff punish scenario does 7 less damage than the one I'd do against every other character

There's also the fact that she drops out of the optimal f+3 S! SSL ff+4, b+3, 1,2, fff+2 starburstless enders completely too, that's a similar damage loss compared to the unoptimal combo

This is objectively an advantage that all Xiaoyu players enjoy regardless of their skill level, or the skill level of their opponent. Assuming perfect play, she is effectively punished a little bit less severely for mistakes than every other character.

JDCR vs Nobi Winner's finals last week at Thaiger Uppercut

Extremely entertaining match.

JDCR and Nobi are possibly the best Tekken players from the 2 regions which have the highest level Tekken players.

Nobi's offense was quite possibly the best I've seen in a tournament so far.

Showed off JDCR's INSANE defensive ability and mental fortitude. Despite being negative and being hit by multiple lows at a time, he didn't crack. He won rounds depsite playing much of the set in the corner, dealing with iWR2s and f+1+2s

It's because both of them work. Josie performs the best at mid-range and she doesn't really have anything super threatening that isn't something she can lose half of her health for doing. If you get in her face, Josie doesn't have any good panic buttons or rather, if you take 1,2, her followups are bad when you know what they are and how to punish them. Or, you can block/duck her strings because almost none of them are safe are either start or have a high as the second hit.

The guy doesn't understand chain grab branches or variable inputs, and if your opponent doesn't think you understand them he'll take advantage of it.

For starters, he says Magma Drive 2 can be escaped 100% of the time by mashing 1. So King just switches the input variable so the escape is 2 and now you have a 0% escape chance unless you change buttons.

He is right about mashing 1 immediately after the Arm Slam throw. It's one of the rare cases where a chain throw doesn't start with a branch or an unbreakable. But after that he treats the chain as a string of throws rather than branches. The Arm Slam and Stretch Bomb chain have multiple points where they can just switch around with each other. So once again King can change the escape inputs on you.

And for the Rolling Death Cradle he does give the right input to escape RDC which is 2, but he doesn't mention that the previous throw is escaped with 1+2. You're just eating more damage and reducing your escape chances by not attempting that break, although it will help you if you're mashing 2 and King randomly decided to use Struggle Combination on you instead of RDC. they are certain strings you want to prefer to press buttons for like 2 if you think they are going for the RDC. 1+2 for another one. you'll learn them in time but for now focus on breaking the initial grab because that is the only grab that you can actually react to and not guess the break.
