Hey guys, having issues with my FO2, I decided to run the Restoration Project and everything was running smoothly up until I hit Gecko, anytime I talk to Harold about the Hy-Mag it just ends the dialog. I'm in too deep to just drop my playthrough and start over with the unofficial patch, is there anyway I can take what I need from the unofficial patch and drop it into my FO2 data folder without fucking up my game?

Considering how the pipboy function changes and that two-handed melee weapons become one-handed I think it would be pretty cool to have some kind of attachment for a melee oriented power armor user.

From the founding of the Army in the fight for independence in Lexington in Concord in 1775, to the defeat of the Japanese on Iwo Jima and iconic raising of the Flag, to the Sea of Tranquility, all the way to the final battle against China in Anchorage.It specifically mentions the most iconic battles of the Army over the course of centuries. Not great achievements of america or capitalism, no, specifically the Army and its battles.

It VERY much seems like it exists purely to be some fancy schmancy quest reward and nothing more. "Give the kids something shiny and new, like those T-51's we had in Far Harbor only stronger".

When someone can point at a loading screen in the game itself (and please don't cite the T-51's loading screen as to how untrustworthy they are) since it very clearly says "post-war", then point at each little blurb in Fallout Shelter where it clearly says "post-war" and mentions the President's secret service on the same item -- that really comes off like it has a little bit of fucking weight to it compared to the ramblings of some youtuber trying to piece together something that makes sense from the chaotic self-contradictory shitheap that is Fallout 4.

Put simply, it goes like this: there's "game" and there is "lore". The Nuka World suit seems like it very distinctly falls under "game" to me.

Are there any mods that spruces up melee combat into something more interesting than vanilla? Mechanically changing it to an extent where it actually becomes a bit more fun. I had the dumb idea that maybe I could fix up the neck seams more by smoothing the textures, but disregarded the normalmaps so it didn't help at all. Then messing with the normalmap on the head I fucked something up because now the shading is somewhat reversed; like in the image the back of her neck is really bright where it should be the most shaded. Is it so much to ask that loot locations make sense in the lore? It would've been cool as hell to have a hidden bunker underneath one of the Poseidon energy plants, or something like that. Imagine the place has been decommissioned after the east coast enclave got fucked and it's mostly in flames with malfunctioning robotic enemies serving as defenders, and at the end of the dungeon you find a full suit with a unique plasma gun.

Of course unique guns aren't even cool anymore in vanilla FO4 because they're all garbage legendaries that don't even look neat

I'd suggest starting simple.
If you've got experience in 3D modelling, it's probably best you do that bit first.
If not, I'd suggest some simple texture edits. Get used to how .nifs work, creating the item in game with CK, adding to to the relevant lists making it craftable etc.

Yeah, it's one of two guaranteed areas to get one outside of DLC areas.

Kinda makes sense to me, since it seems the building may have been owned by some puppet organization of the Enclave (the giant face reminiscent of what you see on the oil rig and select buildings in Fallout seems to suggest this).

If the armor was left there post war it would also make sense given that it could have been a vertibird landing zone, and then abandoned for whatever reason as there's a fusion core always in it as well. Two heavy hitter bots is probably as good as security is going to get, and given the amount of raider corpses around that particular skyscraper they seem to be working.

I was incredibly disappointed by power armor being handed to the player at the start of the game in Fallout 4, but super hype when -- while doing my own exploring -- I ran across that suit at the top of the tower. It was the joy of discovery and "earning" the suit that was missing, to me.

So a couple years later with my second (possibly last) Fallout 4 run, modded and with Survival on, I've already decided I'm not touching power armor until I "earn" it. Start of the game, I already gave the suit in Concord a miss but claimed the minigun (10 Str, buddy), and have continued along without ever taking a single solitary frame that I've run across... ignoring each rusted hulk by rp'ing it as "too far gone" to be of any use, outside of whatever stuff raiders will claim and use on their own of course.

So when I get to that Hub, it's going to be the first time this character gets their armor. It won't be as exciting as the first time I found it, but it'll feel a damn sight better than just being given one.

It's the weakest power armour in the game, you'll have next to no fusion cores or perks to extend their lifespan and it has no upgrades. I dumped it in Sanctuary immediately because of it. I don't use Power Armour until I have all fusion core perks.

if you do the rest of the settings here >>181756596 then the performance offset will actually be better even with a higher shadow distance. The rest of the settings will reduce the shadow quality up close, but you will have a more consistent shadow quality for much farther.

Raider APA is the weakest power armor in the game, Anon. And by the time you find it, assuming you're just going in a straight line and picking up what you find on the way, you'll have three fusion cores. More than enough to keep it running until you acquire more of the shit that's just lying around the commonwealth. How does one "fuck up" installing F4SE when you just drop the files into the directory it's meant to go in?

And I didn't fix my shadows, I'm not the other guy.

I'm assuming my F4SE works because mods that require it run fine. I'm also not the only person to have issues running it together with an ENB if these forum posts are any indication, I'm just wondering if there's a workaround for compatibility problems like there were for New Vegas.

Anyone having issues with textures turning to soup randomly? I've applied the mipmap fix but it doesn't seem to have helped.

At first I thought it was just taking a bit longer to load, but they never do. Reloading a save doesn't help but restarting the game does which isn't very practical.

Why tho?I think a filthy granny adds a fitting flavor to the place.
There are really no proper bars in the game.Third rail isn't terrible but seeing the same 6 NPCs sitting at the same spots without any Day and Night cycles was just bad.
