Winner can't switch character.

Everyone can play their matches until top 8.
Report matches on discord or /tekgen/ thread.

Help me /tekgen/, whenever I block a launcher the opponent always seems to recover faster than anything I have, even a jab. But when they block my launcher they can launch me and 40% of my health is gone. WTF is going on?

I NEED TO ANALYZE WHAT THE FUCK I JUST DID
I WISH THIS GAME HAD A REPLAY FUNCTION SO I COULD SHOW YOU BUT IT DOSN'T AND I DIDN'T CAPTURED IT ON VIDEO

Basically, I played good 'ol Draggy against Xiaowhatever, that chinese slut that does breakdance on the ground and calls it battle.

It was 2:2, final round, she beat the shit out of me with one of her endless air combos. Was down already to rage art health, another hit and I would probably loose.
Managed to block one of her attacks, get her launched into the air and at that point I really spammed the fucking kick buttons just to do as much damage as fucking possible.
So it was the basic -> red red combo knocking her against the wall, then I did a few punches or something and for some fucking reason while I mashed the buttons against the wall I did the slide low kick hitgrab as a finisher, dealing overall 4/5 of her health in a single combo while mashing her into the wall.

I have no idea how I did it, button smashing be praised I guess. Anyone else seen a combo like that? Or can even do it?

I would like to add that to my rooster of combos, especially since it looked fucking cool.

She's a bit unorthodox as far as tekken characters go, relying heavily on counter hits. This was a lot easier with male raven but they got rid of all those ninja tricks. Nothing she has is fast either so you pretty much have to be catching people off guard.

Okay then. When I say, "it took me forever to get past 3rd Dan," that clearly states I am no longer 3rd Dan because I have gone past it.

Anyway, I am not a Tekken player, and the last fighting game I really spent any real time with was SC4. So I am rusty as hell, unfamiliar with a lot of the mechanics and character strings. It's why I tend to fall for obvious shit from the Mishimas but do really well against most Akumas.

Ky Kiske is my all time favorite character in fighting games, I know there won't be a character that necessarily plays like him, but is there any that play using the same mindset/gameplan? I guess I want a character who is well rounded with more of an emphasis on poking than balls to the wall rushdown/mix ups, I don't mind having to make more difficult reads to open people up. I enjoy creating whiffs and whiff punishing a lot, as well as being kinda lame. I've been exploring Kazumi and Alisa, as well as Jin. Are they the kind of characters I'm looking forl and are there any others? In pic related there are obviously some things that don't translate to 3D fighters.

How much does Jin use his stances outside of combos? It feels weird using them because they are risky and it's not like they really lead to much, the ZAN,2 sidestepping move seems like the only useful one at face value. Also are his "fake out" any good or are they a gimmick? I also find it hard to hit ducking opponents with him, It's not a problem for me with the other characters I play, should I stick to d/f+1,4 and b+2,1?
