Is it me or is XCOM 2 REALLY stingy with being able to find new recruits? In EU you could buy them for like $10 a pop, but black market aint selling shit, resistance HQ aint selling shit. 95% of the cast was completely unlike-able, the exceptions being CMDR himself and Tygan. The plot wasn't all that good, though it did have it's moments. The resolution was either extremely stupid or doesn't resolve much at all, depending on which you take.

That said, I didn't hate it. It was interesting enough to keep me playing, but it never wowed me or made me experience any emotion at all, for that matter. The sad moments never effected me, and the 'intense' moments made me go meh. Everything is pretty much forgettable.

Can somebody explain me why people hyped it so much? Because there's absolutely nothing special about it.

I didn't care for Shen though, she was just trying too hard and came off as uneducated, like she didn't belong on the same team with the always professional Tygan.
I guess that's why I liked Vahlen and old Shen from the first xcom. They came off as actual world class scientists and engineers who knew what the fuck they were doing no matter how weird the puzzle you threw at them was.
Girl Shen is no engineer and everything you see her working on is shorting out badly. At best she's an apprentice to someone better.

Beam Hunter Rifle done, it's shiny and smooth and gay just like the vanilla weapons, i debated with myself a lot(since i started this mod way back in november) whether to make it like the vanilla weapons, or make it like the Merc Plasma Weapons, or to make it something else entirely, and in the end i figured i'd just go with the vanilla weapon look.

I tried to make it look a bit more like an amalgamation between alien tech and human tech with some block pieces stuck on it or sticking out from under it and in the end i'm pretty please with how it turned out, maybe in the far far distant futures i'll make a Merc Plasma version of it, although i have so many ideas in my brain for new weapon types that i would try to hold out on doing that until i'm done making new weapons, which at this pace will take about 10 years. But the only reason this mod has taken so long is because it got out of control, if it was "just" an alien mod with just the Advent Scouts it would've been finished in like december.

Anyway, next is attachments and then i can move on to something a bit more interesting before having to move on to fx, sound and icons.

That's from multiplayer.
I poisoned enemy archon with a chryssalid. Archon launched the blazing pinions.
Now, the chryssalid poison applies at the end of enemy turn, so he died at the end of the turn, while he was still in the air.
This immediately triggered the pinions blast, before I could move away, fucking over my sniper.
The dead body with the cocoon stayed in the air and was able to spawn baby chryssalids, but they were bugged and could not move after landing on the ground.
Overall, 10/10 "multiplayer is a mess".

Beam hunter rifle attachments, i reused 3 attachments from the vanilla weapons(scope, laser sight and autoloader) so that went pretty fast. That's all the Xcom weapons done for the initial release, like i said before there will be coilguns and laser versions for the LW2 version but that probably wont happen until after the expansion and LW2 is made compatible with it, so not anytime soon.

The bolt caster has it's up and downs, best to give it to a unit that doesn't shoot often. The Frost bomb is OP in the early game but drops off hard once specialized/plasma grenades come along. The Axe is literally just a free ranged attack once per mission and the Shadowkeeper is a slightly stronger pistol that can be really useful on classes that work better concealed.

The real OP item is the Archon armor.

Well, I like tracer rounds early game for snipers or rangers. Late game I switch to AP to counter the armor.

Now, the big thing is is I make a pistoleer and give him dragon or venom rounds since he'll hit the most targets.

Bluescreen I give to my combat support. Make him the anti robot guy.

Actually it seems like alot of ammo mods are pretty much for handling the worst class paths.

Anyone else feel like support grenadiers kinda suck? They're okay in the early game, mostly because everyone is carrying frags; but later on when everyone else has vests and ammo, I just find myself wishing I had more plasma grenades.

Flashbangs are pretty good early on but -25 aim doesn't help that much when advent has more aim. Smoke is just a turn waste oftentimes.

Damn it, so far the only mission I've had with a MEC in it was the Blacklist mission where you steal the vial and for some reason you can't autopsy the enemies you kill in the storyline missions.

Pistol sharpshooters excel at two things, fucking over one enemy with a bunch of shots and fucking over all enemies in range with a bunch of single shots.

I don't find snipers too useful since the game is more aggressive and you often don't have time to hang back with one or two dudes since the timers most missions have, and that a lot of missions require you to hit an evac zone so leaving someone miles behind isn't too useful. Pistol sharpshooters have none of those problems and lots of damage to go with it.

Not him, but I've been playing very strangely. I've expanded all over the map, and have been playing with a particular ruleset. If the strength is 3 or more I hide, and I just go to my 9 other strength 1-2 regions. I've had almost 0 retaliations, but it also means I have very few corpses. I've been on intel almost the whole time, but obviously not in high strength regions.
Is there a greater chance for these events to be researched in dangerous areas? Also all of my liberation missions found have been really low on time to where I have to face swarming just to get a 5-6 man squad in, do you find these missions easier when the strength is high? I'm in 10 regions, and I'm just teching to power armor/plasma so I can do a liberation that's swarming.

Every time you activate a sensor tower, EXALT soldiers have to reload their weapons.
You're supposed to give cover fire to your infiltrated agent while he dashes to the extraction point and bail out the whole team with as little engaging as possible.

If you're talking about the EXALT HQ invasion, then I dunno. Never made it that far in Long War.
